Frederikssund Kommune (Danish pronunciation: [fʁeðʁekˈsɔnˀ kʰoˈmuːnə]) is a municipality (Danish: kommune) on the shores of Roskilde Fjord in the northern part of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. On 1 January 2007, the municipality was enlarged to include the old Jægerspris, Slangerup, and Skibby municipalities. It now covers an area of 250 km² and has a population of 46,117 (1. January 2023). As of 1 January 2014 its mayor is John Schmidt Andersen, a member of the agrarian liberal Venstre political party. Frederikssund municipality belongs to Region Hovedstaden (Capital Region). The seat of its municipal council is the town of Frederikssund with a population of 15,283 (1 January 2009). The town is connected to the Hornsherred peninsula by the Kronprins Frederik bridge. The former municipalities of Jægerspris and Skibby are located on this peninsula.

Frederikssund station is the terminus of the Frederikssund radial of the S-train network of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located near the center of the city of Frederikssund. The station area includes a large bus terminal from which a network of bus lines service the rural areas in Hornsherred and those north of the urban corridor between Frederikssund and Copenhagen.

J.F. Willumsens Museum is in Frederikssund, Denmark. The art museum is operated by Frederikssund Municipality. The art museum is dedicated to the works of the artist Jens Ferdinand Willumsen (1863–1958) and was opened in 1957. Jens Ferdinand Willumsen was a Danish painter, sculptor, graphic artist, architect and photographer who became associated with the movements of Symbolism and Expressionism. The museum contains a wide range of Willumsen's artworks, including paintings, sketches, graphics, ceramics, sculptures, photographs and architecture.The museum was designed by the architect Tyge Hvass, and a new wing was opened in 2005, based upon designs by architect Theo Bjerg (1936-2019). The head of the museum from 1973-1990 and 1993-2006 was art historian mag. art. Leila Krogh (born 1943).

Frederikssund (Danish pronunciation: [fʁeðʁekˈsɔnˀ]) is a Danish town, seat of the Frederikssund Municipality, in the Region Hovedstaden with a population of 17,135 (1 January 2023). It received the status of market town in 1810. The town is famous for its annual Viking Games as well as for the J.F. Willumsen museum. Since 1935, it has been connected to Hornsherred via the Kronprins Frederik Bridge.

Ølsted Parish (Danish: Ølsted Sogn) is a parish in the Diocese of Helsingør in Halsnæs Municipality, Denmark. The parish contains the town of Ølsted.

Ølsted is a small town located south of Frederiksværk, between Lake Arre to the northeast and Roskilde Fjord to the west, in Halsnæs Municipality, some 50 km northwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. As of January 1. 2023, the town has a population of 1,938. It belongs to the Halsnæs municipality in Region Hovedstaden.

The Skuldelev ships are five original Viking ships recovered from the waterway of Peberrenden at Skuldelev, c. 20 km (12 mi) north of Roskilde in Denmark. In 1962, the remains of the submerged ships were excavated in the course of four months. The recovered pieces constitute five types of Viking ships and have all been dated to the 11th century. They are thought to have been an early form of blockship, i.e. ships that were scuttled to block potential invasions from the sea. The numbering of the ships is slightly confusing as when the remains were unearthed, they were thought to comprise six ships, but after "Skuldelev 2" and "Skuldelev 4" were later discovered to be parts of one ship, it was decided not to renumber the other vessels.Together, the five Skuldelev ships provide a good source of information about the shipbuilding traditions of the late Viking Age and are now exhibited at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde. The museum has built accurate reconstructions of all five of the original Skuldelev ships; some of them have also been reconstructed by other groups across the world.

Gerlev is a town in the Frederikssund Municipality in North Zealand, Denmark. It is located on Hornsherred, five kilometers south of Jægerspris and six kilometers southwest of Frederikssund. As of 2023, it has a population of 1,065.

Jægerspris is a town, with a population of 4,083 (1 January 2023), in eastern Denmark. It is situated in Region Hovedstaden, 6 km northwest of Frederikssund, on the northern part of the island of Zealand (Sjælland). The town was established ca. 1870 around Jægerspris Castle, which is surrounded by kilometres of hiking and biking trails in the Jægerspris forest. It was the municipal seat of the former Jægerspris Municipality (Danish, Kommune), until 1 January 2007.

Snoegen was an ancient pedunculate oak located in Jægerspris Nordskov, near the town Jægerspris in Denmark. Snoegen is located in the same forest as Kongeegen and Storkeegen. Snoegen died in 1991 after a few seasons of decreasing foliage, and following works to erect a wooden barrier around the tree that may have damaged the root zone. The trunk still stands. Snoegen is named after the twisted trunk. The trunk had a perimeter of 8.90 meters in 1990.It is estimated that the tree is between the 600 and 700 years old but there are also estimations who suggest an age between the 400 and 850 years.

Skævinge is a town with a population of 2,859 (1 January 2023) and a former municipality (Danish, kommune) in Hillerød municipality in Capital Region of Denmark in the northern part of the island of Sealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The former Skævinge municipality covered an area of 68 km², and had a total population of 6,046 (2005). On 1 January 2007 Skævinge municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged into existing Hillerød municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 191 km² and a total population of ca. 43,337.
