Snoegen

Kongeegen (the King Oak) is a renowned oak tree in Denmark. It grows in Jægerspris Nordskov (Jægerspris North Forest) near Jægerspris, on the island of Sjælland. A scientific investigation in 1965 of the tree's rings indicated that the tree has an estimated age of 1500–2000 years, and may well be the oldest living oak in northern Europe. It probably originally grew in an open meadow, to account for its short trunk and low branching, with other taller forest trees growing up around it subsequently. Kongeegen is located in the same forest as Snoegen and Storkeegen.

Storkeegen was a pedunculate oak located in Jægerspris Nordskov, near the town Jægerspris in Denmark. The remains of Storkegen are located in the same forest as Kongeegen and Snoegen.All that remains of the ancient oak is a piece of the trunk. In 1974 the trunk broke just above the lowest branch at a height of four meters. Because the lowest branch survived the tree managed to live on until 1981, when it was unfortunately killed by a hurricane. It is estimated that the tree was 800 years old.Storkeegen is named after the nest of a white stork that built its nest in the tree sometime during the nineteenth century. In 1843 the painter Peter Christian Thamsen Skovgaard painted Storkeegen and named this painting Eg med Storkerede i Nordskoven ved Jægerspris. This work became part of the Danish Royal Collection.

Jægerspris is a town, with a population of 4,083 (1 January 2023), in eastern Denmark. It is situated in Region Hovedstaden, 6 km northwest of Frederikssund, on the northern part of the island of Zealand (Sjælland). The town was established ca. 1870 around Jægerspris Castle, which is surrounded by kilometres of hiking and biking trails in the Jægerspris forest. It was the municipal seat of the former Jægerspris Municipality (Danish, Kommune), until 1 January 2007.

Jægerspris Castle (Danish: Jægerspris Slot), in Jægerspris on the Hornsherred peninsula west of Copenhagen, is a Danish manor house. It has belonged to the Danish monarchs for most of its history which dates back to the 13th century. In the 1850s it became a retreat for King Frederik VII and his morganatic wife Countess Danner, who sought refuge there to escape the controversy their marriage had caused among the establishment in Copenhagen. After the king's death, Countess Danner turned it into an asylum for women. Today the castle serves as a historic house museum and is also noted for its park.

Frederiksværk station is a railway station serving the town of Frederiksværk in North Zealand, Denmark.Frederiksværk station is located on the Frederiksværk Line from Hillerød to Hundested. The station was opened in 1897 with the opening of the Hillerød-Frederiksværk section of the Frederiksværk Line. The train services are operated by the railway company Lokaltog which runs frequent local train services between Hundested station and Hillerød station.

Frederiksværk Parish (Danish: Frederiksværk Sogn) was a parish in the Diocese of Helsingør in Halsnæs Municipality, Denmark. The town of Frederiksværk was in the parish. The parish was merged with Vinderød Parish on 1 July 2014 to form Frederiksværk-Vinderød Parish.

Kulhuse is a town in the Frederikssund Municipality in North Zealand, Denmark. As of 2023, it has a population of 870. It is a popular vacation destination, especially in the summer.

J.F. Willumsens Museum is in Frederikssund, Denmark. The art museum is operated by Frederikssund Municipality. The art museum is dedicated to the works of the artist Jens Ferdinand Willumsen (1863–1958) and was opened in 1957. Jens Ferdinand Willumsen was a Danish painter, sculptor, graphic artist, architect and photographer who became associated with the movements of Symbolism and Expressionism. The museum contains a wide range of Willumsen's artworks, including paintings, sketches, graphics, ceramics, sculptures, photographs and architecture.The museum was designed by the architect Tyge Hvass, and a new wing was opened in 2005, based upon designs by architect Theo Bjerg (1936-2019). The head of the museum from 1973-1990 and 1993-2006 was art historian mag. art. Leila Krogh (born 1943).
