Tuskys (formerly Tusker Mattress), is a Kenyan supermarket chain. It was one of the large supermarket chains in the Great Lakes Area. It employed nearly 6,150 people, 6,000+ in Kenya, and 150 in Uganda.

Embakasi is a neighbourhood in the city of Nairobi. It is approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi), southeast of the central business district. Embakasi is considered part of Nairobi's Eastlands area, lying to the south-east of Nairobi County. The Embakasi proper covers other estates in Eastlands such as Donholm, Pipeline, Tena, and Makadara estates. It borders South C and contains South B and slightly more than one third of Nairobi's Industrial Area and Export Processing Zones. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is located in Embakasi and it was known as Embakasi Airport when it was launched in 1958.

Located within the larger Eastlands area of Nairobi, it is approximately 9.5 kilometres (5.9 mi) east of the central business district. It has earned a reputation for its poor infrastructure, coupled with overcrowded flats, narrow streets, littering, as well as its poor drainage system.

Kware is a slum neighbourhood in Embakasi in the city of Nairobi. Located within the larger Eastlands area of Nairobi, it is approximately 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) east of the central business district. It borders the Mukuru slums and Initially Kware was predominantly an informal settlement but over the years part Kware and Pipeline have earned a reputation for their poor infrastructure, coupled with overcrowded flats, narrow streets, littering, as well as its poor drainage system.

Naivas Supermarket, often referred to simply as "Naivas", is the largest supermarket chain in Kenya, with 84 outlets as of June 2022. A that time, Naivas was the largest supermarket chain in Kenya, ahead of Quick Mart Limited with 51 outlets in the country.

Nairobi National Park is a national park in Kenya that was established in 1946 about 7 km (4.3 mi) south of Nairobi. It is fenced on three sides, whereas the open southern boundary allows migrating wildlife to move between the park and the adjacent Kitengela plains. Herbivores gather in the park during the dry season. Nairobi National Park is negatively affected by increasing human and livestock populations, changing land use and poaching of wildlife. Despite its proximity to the city and its relative small size, it boasts a large and varied wildlife population, and is one of Kenya's most successful rhinoceros sanctuaries.

Mukuru is a collection of slums in the city of Nairobi. It is approximately 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) south of the central business district of Nairobi. It is one of the largest slums in Nairobi. It stretches along the Nairobi–Ngong River, situated on waste lands in the industrial area of the city between the Outering Ring Road, North Airport Road and Mombasa Road. Mukuru is among other major slums in Nairobi such: Korogocho, Kibera and Mathare. Mukuru comprises the Mukuru kwa Reuben, Mukuru kwa Njenga, Sinai, Paradise, Jamaica, Kingstone, Mariguini, Fuata Nyayo and Kayaba villages.

The 2011 Nairobi pipeline fire was caused by an explosion secondary to a fuel spill in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on 12 September 2011. Approximately 100 people were killed in the fire and at least 116 others were hospitalized with varying degrees of burns. The incident was not the first such pipeline accident in Kenya, with the Molo fire of 2009 resulting in at least 133 fatalities and hundreds more injured.

Nyayo Estate is a gated neighbourhood in Embakasi in the city of Nairobi. It is approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) by road southeast of the central business district of Nairobi. Built from 1999, with six phases by 2014, it is the largest housing project in Kenya and second largest in Africa.

The Solar Ice Rink is an ice rink located in Nairobi, Kenya. The rink is located in the Panari Sky Centre, a large retail, leisure and hotel accommodation complex. Opened in 2005, the Solar Ice Rink is the largest rink in Africa, and the first rink in East Africa and Central Africa. The rink cost US$700,000 to build.The rink covers an area of 1,400 square metres (15,000 sq ft), and can accommodate 200 skaters.

Mukuru Kwa Njenga is a slum in the Mukuru slums of Nairobi. Mukuru kwa Njenga is among other villages in Mukuru namely; Mukuru kwa Reuben, Mukuru kwa Njenga, Sinai, Paradise, Jamaica, Kingstone, Mariguini, Fuata Nyayo and Kayaba. The population exceeds 100,000.
