The Totowa Borough Public Schools are a comprehensive community public school district, serving students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade in Totowa, in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Totowa (pronounced "TO-tuh-wuh" ) is a borough in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 11,065, an increase of 261 (+2.4%) from the 2010 census count of 10,804, which in turn reflected an increase of 912 (+9.2%) from the 9,892 counted in the 2000 census.Totowa was formed as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 15, 1898, from portions of Wayne Township and the now-defunct Manchester Township.

Ice World, often referred to as Ice World Arena or Totowa Ice World, was an American sporting venue located in Totowa, New Jersey. The arena was located on New Jersey Route 62 at an interchange with U.S. Route 46. It opened in 1977.

Passaic Valley Regional High School is the name of both a public school district and regional high school for students in ninth through twelfth grades from a district comprising Little Falls, Totowa and Woodland Park, three communities in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.As of the 2022–23 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,039 students and 83.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.5:1. There were 278 students (26.8% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 42 (4.0% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.The Passaic Valley board of education consists of nine members, with three members elected from each municipality. The board generally meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month during the school year and once a month during the summer.

The Hillery Street Bridge is a vehicular bridge over the Passaic River in Totowa and Woodland Park, New Jersey. The Pratt pony truss carries Hillery Street and Totowa Road and is designated County Route 644. It was originally built in 1898 and rehabilitated in 1973. It was extensively refurbished in 2009 to its original historic state, including its original lattice-work sidewalk railings. A historic bridge survey conducted by the New Jersey Department of Transportation from 1991–1994 determined that the bridge was eligible for listing on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places and the National Register of Historic Places.

On the afternoon of February 9, 2005, the body of 43-year-old Geetha Angara (born July 15, 1961) a chemist, was found in a water tank at the Passaic Valley Water Commission treatment facility in Totowa, New Jersey, United States, after the tanks had been drained. She had not been seen since the previous morning when she had gone to the water tanks to take samples; items she had been carrying when she was last seen alive were also found. The items, a radio and broken beaker, were found in the water, below an access panel that was slightly ajar. Broken glass was found on the floor near that panel. An autopsy found bruises on Angara's neck consistent with choking, as well as on her waist and elbows, suggesting she had been involved in a violent struggle, but not a deadly one. The cause of death was determined to be drowning, as she was alive when she had gone into the water. Investigators classified the case as a homicide, believing the killing had been intentional; they put Angara's death as having occurred the day before.Since access to the plant was tightly controlled, police believed that the responsible party was someone else in the plant that day. After interviewing all of Angara's coworkers over the next few months, detectives found some possible motives and narrowed a list of possible suspects down to eight men. Three were ultimately considered suspects, but after further investigation the case went cold, and as of 2020 they have not been publicly identified and no arrests have been made.Investigators have also considered the possibility that the death was purely accidental, based on the work of a Scottish pathologist who argues that injuries very similar to those associated with strangulation can occur as victims drown in very cold water such as that Angara was found in—the theory is that the plate over the tank might negligently have been left open following some sample collection for water testing. Struck by similarities with a 1968 killing of a woman, also in Passaic County, alone while in a high-security industrial complex on a weekend, they looked for leads in that case's file. In 2007, Angara's family, frustrated by the lack of progress, successfully pushed for the state's Attorney General to review the case, but that effort did not result in any new leads or information either.

Little Falls is a township in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The township was named for a waterfall on the Passaic River at a dam near Beattie Mill.As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 13,360, a decrease of 1,072 (−7.4%) from the 2010 census count of 14,432, which in turn reflected an increase of 3,577 (+33.0%) from the 10,855 counted in the 2000 census.

Peckman Preserve is a 12-acre nature preserve that is located off Wilmore Road in Little Falls, New Jersey, United States. It was acquired subsequent to the completion of the 2001 Open Space Fund and Recreation Master Plan, and is adjacent to the filled bed of the Morris Canal.Parking is provided on local streets, and the site may also be accessed by NJ Transit bus routes 28, 704, 191, 397, and 705. These sites are less than a 10-minute walk from the entrance to the park alongside East Main Street (County Road 631).

Woodland Park (formerly West Paterson) is a borough in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 13,484, an increase of 1,665 (+14.1%) from the 2010 census count of 11,819, which in turn reflected an increase of 832 (+7.6%) from the 10,987 counted in the 2000 census.What is now Woodland Park was formed as a borough under the name West Paterson, by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 25, 1914, from portions of Little Falls Township, based on the results of a referendum held on May 1, 1914.On November 4, 2008, the citizens of West Paterson voted to change the official name of the borough from West Paterson to Woodland Park. The new name retains the initials "W.P." and is a reference to the community's wooded areas. At a November 10, 2008 community meeting attended by 200 residents, a number of residents demanded that a recount be held if the official results showed that the measure had passed. In case the recount demand was unsuccessful, the group discussed filing a petition to change the name back to West Paterson, including discussion of how to raise the $33,000 needed to cover the cost of a special election in spring 2009 for voters to reconsider the name. By November 25, 2008, the provisional vote counts had been tallied, and the name change won by 25 votes. The mayor and Council approved a resolution in December 2008, officially changing the borough's name to the Borough of Woodland Park, effective January 1, 2009. The name change is an attempt to "distance" itself from nearby urban Paterson, New Jersey, and all of the social ills associated with cities, including but not limited to urban blight, high crime, and drug addiction. A referendum held on November 3, 2009, affirmed the name change.

Great Notch is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in eastern Little Falls, in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It gets its name from a gap in the first of the Watchung Mountains. Located in Great Notch are parts of Montclair State University and the Great Notch Fire Company.

Holy Sepulchre Cemetery and Mausoleum is an American Roman Catholic cemetery in Totowa, New Jersey, named after the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, thus associated with the Resurrection of Jesus. The cemetery was founded as the parish cemetery of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Paterson. It has been in operation since the early 1840s, incorporating some of the original cemeteries in Paterson.The cemetery holds the plot for the remains for the Franciscan friars of Holy Name Province, which serves the Eastern Seaboard of the United States.
