Trebsen

Nerchau is a town and a former municipality in the Leipzig district, in the Free State of Saxony, Germany. Since 1 January 2011, it is a part (Ortschaft) of the town Grimma. It is situated on the river Mulde, 7 km northeast of Grimma, and 30 km east of Leipzig (centre).

Grimma (Upper Sorbian: Grima, pronounced [ˈɡʁʲima]) is a town in Saxony, Central Germany, on the left bank of the Mulde, 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of Leipzig. Founded in c. 1170, it is part of the Leipzig district.

Wurzen railway station (German: Bahnhof Wurzen) is a railway station in Wurzen, Saxony, Germany. The station is located on the Leipzig–Dresden line and operated by DB Station&Service.

Großbothen is a village and a former municipality in the Leipzig district in Saxony, Germany. Großbothen had an area of 33.45 km² and a population of 3,453 (as of December 31, 2009). At a local government reform on 1 January 2011, the municipality was split up and divided over the towns Grimma and Colditz. The village Großbothen is now part of Grimma. Großbothen was the death place of Wilhelm Wundt.

Bennewitz is a municipality in the Leipzig district in Saxony, Germany.

Wurzen (German pronunciation: [ˈvʊʁtsn̩] ) is a town in the Leipzig district, in Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the river Mulde, here crossed by two bridges, 25 km east of Leipzig, by rail N.E. of Leipzig on the main line via Riesa to Dresden. It has a cathedral dating from the twelfth century, a castle, at one time a residence of the bishops of Meissen and later utilized as law courts, several schools, an agricultural college and as a police station including a prison.

Leipzig is one of the three former Direktionsbezirke of Saxony, Germany, located in the north-west of the state. It coincided with the Planungsregion Westsachsen. It was disbanded in March 2012.

Kühren-Burkartshain is a former municipality in the former district Muldentalkreis, Saxony. It was formed in 1994 by the merger of the municipalities Kühren and Burkartshain. In October 2006, it was merged into the town Wurzen.

The Waldpolenz Solar Park is a 52-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic power station built by German developer and operator Juwi at a former military air base near Leipzig, Eastern Germany. When completed by the end of 2008, it was the world's largest thin-film solar park using CdTe-modules.Initially, the solar power plant's nameplate capacity was 40 MW, consisting of 500,000 state-of-the-art solar panels provided by U.S. manufacturer First Solar, and generated 40,000 MWh of electricity per year. The solar park was then extended with another 153,650 panels, also provided by First Solar, to a final capacity of 52 MWP in 2011The installation is located in the Muldentalkreis district in the state of Saxony in eastern Germany, built on half of the location's 220 hectares (543.6 acres) in the townships of Brandis and Bennewitz. The investment costs for the Waldpolenz solar park have amounted to some 130 million euro.

Parthenstein is a municipality in the Leipzig district in Saxony, Germany. It was created in 1994 by the merger of the former municipalities Grethen, Großsteinberg, Klinga and Pomßen.

The Zwickauer Mulde (German pronunciation: [ˈtsvɪkaʊɐ ˈmʊldə]) is a river in Saxony, Germany. It is the left tributary of the Mulde and 166 km (103 mi) in length. The source of the river is in the Ore Mountains, near Schöneck, in the Vogtlandkreis. It runs northeast to Aue, then northwest to Zwickau (hence the name), and further north through Glauchau, Rochlitz and Colditz. A few kilometers north of Colditz, the Zwickauer Mulde is joined by the Freiberger Mulde to form the united Mulde. The Mulde is a tributary of the Elbe.

Pomßen is a village some 20 kilometres from Leipzig, Germany. Since 1994, it is part of the municipality of Parthenstein. There is a fortified church of architectural and historical interest. It has an organ built by Gottfried Richter (1643–1717) The church is also of interest to music historians for its association with J.S. Bach. His cantata Ich lasse dich nicht, du segnest mich denn, BWV 157 was performed there in 1727.Pomssen is the birthplace of Gerhard Kretschmar, a victim of Hitler's program to exterminate children. Kretschmar was born blind, with one leg and one arm. He was killed at the age of only 5 months by direct order from Hitler. He was buried in the Lutheran Cemetery nearby.
