Grasmere is one of the smaller lakes of the English Lake District, in the county of Cumbria. It gives its name to the village of Grasmere, famously associated with the poet William Wordsworth, which is immediately to the north of the lake.The lake is 1680 yd (1540 m) long and 700 yd (640 m) wide, covering an area of 0.24 mi² (0.62 km²). It has a maximum depth of 70 ft (21m) and an elevation above sea level of 208 ft (62 m). The lake is both fed and drained by the River Rothay, which flows through the village before entering the lake, and then exits downstream into nearby Rydal Water, beyond which it continues into Windermere.The waters of the lake are leased by the Lowther Estate to the National Trust. The waters are navigable, with private boats allowed and rowing boats for hire, but powered boats are prohibited. The lake contains a single island, known as Grasmere Island or simply The Island. In 2017 this island was bequeathed to the National Trust. This gift has particular significance to the National Trust, as the organisation was founded in response to the sale of the same island to a private bidder in 1893. Canon Hardwicke Rawnsley felt that such a location should instead be in public ownership, and soon afterwards started the National Trust with Octavia Hill and Robert Hunter.

St Oswald's Church is in the village of Grasmere, in the Lake District, Cumbria, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Windermere, the archdeaconry of Westmorland and Furness, and the diocese of Carlisle. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. As well as its architectural interest, the church is notable for its associations with the poet, William Wordsworth and his family, and for its annual ceremony of rushbearing.

Grasmere lies within the historic county of Westmorland. The Ambleside and Grasmere ward had an estimated population of 4,592 in 2019. William and Dorothy Wordsworth, the 'Lake Poets', lived in Grasmere for 14 years and called it "the loveliest spot that man hath ever found."

Dale Lodge Hotel in Grasmere is a building of historical significance. It was built in the early 1800s and was a private residence until about 1900. It was used mainly by the Townsend-Farquhar family and particularly by the two dowager ladies Lady Maria Farquhar followed by her daughter in law Lady Erica Farquhar. When the second Lady Farquhar died the property was sold and it became a hotel.

Alcock Tarn is a lake in South Lakeland, Cumbria, England. It is located high in the fells on Heron Pike, roughly a mile and a half east of Grasmere.Alcock Tarn was originally known as Butter Crags Tarn and was enlarged by means of a stone and earth dam in the 19th century to a depth of about 6 ft (1.8 m). The owner, a Mr Alcock of Grasmere, then stocked it with brown trout.

Allan Bank is a grade II listed two-storey villa standing on high ground slightly to the west of Grasmere village in the heart of the Lake District. It is best known for being from 1808 to 1811 the home of William Wordsworth, but it was also occupied at various times by Dorothy Wordsworth, Dora Wordsworth, Thomas De Quincey, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Thomas Arnold, Matthew Arnold and Canon Hardwicke Rawnsley. It is now owned by the National Trust and is open to the public.

Dockey Tarn is a small lake in South Lakeland district, Cumbria, England. It is located at a height of 379.3 m (1,244 ft), on the west slope below the ridge from Nab Scar to Heron Pike, about 700 m (2,300 ft) south-east of Alcock Tarn, and about 2 km (1.2 mi) east of Grasmere. It has been said to be one of the smallest tarns in the Lake District which is named on Ordnance Survey maps; it does not appear on their maps at 1:50,000 scale but is marked and named on their 1:25,000 maps.A visitor in 2018 reported that the tarn had at that time dried up completely.The name of the tarn appeared in a 1749 document spelled "Dockrey Tarn", and is believed to derive from the local family surname Dockray.

Todd Crag is a hill and a satellite peak of Loughrigg Fell at 224 m (735 ft) it is not classed as a fell but is a vantage point near Ambleside

Loughrigg Fell is a hill in the central part of the English Lake District. It stands on the end of the long ridge coming down from High Raise over Silver How towards Ambleside, and is separated from its neighbours by the depression of Red Bank.

The Traveller's Rest is a hotel and public house in Grasmere, Cumbria, England. Located on the eastern side of the A591, it is a Grade II listed building dating to the 16th century.An old coaching inn at the foot of Dunmail Raise, the building is two storeys, roughcast over stone rubble with a slate roof. It is in two blocks, stepped down the hillside. The upper block has four 16-paned sash windows on the ground floor and two 12-paned sashes above. The lower block has two doors with modern porches, six sashes on the ground floor and five above, mostly 16-paned.The pub has one of the highest elevations in England, at 1,475 feet (450 m), about 250 feet (76 m) lower than Tan Hill Inn in North Yorkshire. As of 2010, the pub was owned by the Jennings Brewery.

Nab Scar is a fell in the English Lake District, an outlier of the Fairfield group in the Eastern Fells. It stands above Rydal Water.
