Glasgow Rowing Club is a rowing club, based in the Gorbals area of Glasgow, Scotland. It is a private club, with no direct public funding. Application for membership is open to all. The club is affiliated to Scottish Rowing.

The Southern Necropolis is a cemetery in the Gorbals district of southern Glasgow, Scotland. It was opened in the year 1840 to provide an affordable and respectable place of burial for the people of Gorbals and the surrounding areas of the city of Glasgow. Over 250,000 individuals have been buried within the many lairs.

Polmadie (; Scottish Gaelic: Poll Mac Dè, lit. 'Son of God pool') is a primarily industrial area of Glasgow in Scotland. Situated south of the River Clyde, Polmadie is close to residential neighbourhoods including Govanhill (to the west) and Toryglen (south-east), with Oatlands and another large industrial zone at Shawfield to the north on the opposite side of major railway lines and the M74 motorway, Junction 1A of which serves the area. For over 50 years, the most prominent landmarks within Polmadie were the 66-metre-high (217 ft) twin chimneys of a now disused waste incinerator plant operated by Glasgow City Council. This was replaced by a 'Recycling and Renewable Energy Centre' on the same site operated by Viridor with a less conspicuous stack.Also located in the area is Alstom's Polmadie Depot, a large railway maintenance facility for Avanti West Coast which is the most northerly train stabling and maintenance area on the West Coast Main Line (WCML), since the line runs through Polmadie on its final approach into Glasgow Central station. The area was also home to BOC's industrial gases filling plant and main Scottish base, until this moved to a more modern facility in early 2007 in Cambuslang just outside Glasgow in anticipation of the completion of the M74 Southern link and associated redevelopment of the surrounding area.

Hutchesontown is an inner-city area in Glasgow, Scotland. Mostly residential, it is situated directly south of the River Clyde and forms part of the wider historic Gorbals district, which is covered by the Southside Central ward under Glasgow City Council. The area is linked to Glasgow Green public park on the north side of the river by St. Andrew's Suspension Bridge and King's Bridge. At its north-western edge, Albert Bridge is the closest crossing point towards Glasgow city centre. In McNeill Street, Hutchesontown has one of Glasgow's original Carnegie libraries, deftly designed by the Inverness-born architect James Robert Rhind. James Stokes, recipient of the Victoria Cross, was from the area.

Braehead Park, originally known as Hibernian Park, was a football ground in the Oatlands area of Glasgow, Scotland. It was the home ground of Glasgow Hibernian from 1889 until 1890, then used by Thistle from 1892 until they folded in 1895.

Glasgow National Hockey Centre is a facility for playing field hockey, situated on Glasgow Green in Glasgow, United Kingdom. The facility was constructed for the Commonwealth Games in 2014. The facility includes 2 Synthetic Hockey Pitches, Player Facilities and a Permanent stand for spectators. It also has office space which is the new home of Scottish Hockey. For the 2014 Games, additional temporary stands were erected to increase the capacity during the games. The facility is used for domestic competition and hosted the 2014 Women's Hockey Champions Challenge I before the Commonwealth Games. The centre is also home of Rottenrow Hockey Club

Rosebery Park was a football ground in the Oatlands area of Glasgow, Scotland. It was the home of Shawfield F.C. from 1918 to 1960, before being acquired by Glasgow Corporation as a venue for schools' football matches. The discovery that the site was contaminated led to the ground becoming derelict in the 1990s, and it was subsequently demolished.

The Polmadie Bridge is a footbridge that crosses the River Clyde, Glasgow, Scotland between Glasgow Green (the Flesher's Haugh area which is largely football pitches) to its north, and Oatlands (at the west side of Richmond Park) to its south.

Kinclaith distillery was the last Malt whisky still built in Glasgow, within the Strathclyde Grain distillery complex, in 1958. The Kinclaith distillery was closed in 1975.

Hutchesontown C was a Comprehensive Development Area (CDA) of an area of Hutchesontown, a district in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. Its centrepiece were two Brutalist 20-storey slab blocks at 16-32 Queen Elizabeth Square, designed by Sir Basil Spence and containing 400 homes. Acclaimed by architects and modernists, the flats became riddled with damp and infestations, which could not be cured even with a major renovation in the late 1980s. They were demolished in 1993, with the demolition contractor using twice the amount of explosive necessary to destroy the building, killing a female spectator in the process.

King's Bridge is a road bridge spanning the River Clyde in Glasgow, Scotland. The bridge links Hutchesontown to the west (left bank) and Glasgow Green to the east (right bank) near the city centre. King's Bridge, which carries the A74, is the second such structure crossing the river at that point. The original was wooden and completed in 1901, opening on the same day as the original Polmadie Bridge nearby. The current, wider version was built in 1933 and has four 21-metre spans containing a series of rivetted steel plate girders which support the reinforced concrete bridge deck. With deep foundations, the piers divide at low level to create the arches. The bridge is a low-level bridge and was built by the Sir William Arrol & Co. firm to a design by TPM Somers.
