The West Side Historic District is a set of ninety-eight buildings on the west side of the Fox River in Aurora, Illinois. Of these, seventy-seven contribute to the historical value of the district.

The Middle Avenue Historic District is an industrial historic district located on two square blocks in downtown Aurora, Illinois. The district includes eleven buildings, eight of which are contributing buildings to its historic nature. The district formed in the early 20th century along a Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad branch known as the Alley Job, and its buildings fall into three main categories: factories, distribution buildings, and warehouses. The district's factories include facilities operated by the Pictorial Printing Company and the typewriter ribbon company Miller-Bryant-Pierce. Distribution and office buildings in the district include multiple buildings owned by International Harvester and the McCredie Building, which was used by various coal businesses. The district also includes three warehouses and a filling station.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 24, 2016.

The Colonel Ira C. Copley Mansion, is a historic residence in Aurora, Illinois.

Healy Chapel is a historic mortuary in Aurora, Illinois. It was designed by George Grant Elmslie and is one of only a few Prairie School buildings designed for commercial purposes.

The Aurora Public Library is a public library in Aurora, Illinois, United States. It is made of up one central library with two branch libraries. In addition to these facilities the library runs a bookmobile, bringing its total service population to 200,000 people.

The Old Second National Bank of Aurora is a historic building in Aurora, Illinois. It was designed in the Prairie School style by George Grant Elmslie, and was one of his last commissions.

The Aurora Elks Lodge No. 705 is a Mayan style building on Stolp Island in Aurora, Illinois. It is included in the Stolp Island Historic District. The building was built in 1926 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Galena Hotel, originally known as the Fox River House, is a historic hotel in Aurora, Illinois. It is the oldest hotel still standing in the city.

Copley Hospital is a former hospital at 301 Weston Avenue in Aurora, Illinois. Opened in 1888, the hospital was the first in Aurora, and it remained the only hospital in Aurora until 1900. The building underwent several additions and expansions over time, both to add more space and to help modernize the hospital's practices. The first of these additions came in 1916, when a new wing opened; this section brought wider hallways, elevators, patient call systems, and better-lit patient rooms to the hospital. A 1932 addition was designed by architects Schmidt, Garden & Erikson in the Neoclassical style; it included an expansion for the hospital's maternity ward and radiology and training facilities. The same architects designed another addition in 1947, which coincided with the hospital's renaming in honor of Ira C. Copley; Copley's donations had funded both the 1932 and 1947 additions. Two more additions were placed on the building in 1970 and 1980, and the hospital was closed and replaced by the new Rush–Copley Medical Center in 1995. when the building was vacant it became popular with urban exploring and paranormal investigators as it is supposed to be haunted despite the building being unsafe. The hospital was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 18, 2019. The hospital is now being renovated by Fox Valley Developers LLC and Kluber Architects + Engineers and will become a nursing home and an apartment for people who are disabled.

The Stolp Woolen Mill Store was built in 1860. It is located on Stolp Island in Aurora, Illinois. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It is also a contributing building in the Stolp Island Historic District.

The Hobbs Building is a historic commercial building at 2-4 North River Street in Aurora, Illinois. Albert Hobbs, a businessman and local civic leader, had the building constructed in 1895 for his furniture and undertaking businesses. Architect James E. Minott gave the building a Richardsonian Romanesque design which incorporated elements of the Queen Anne style. The four-story building has a five-sided turret on its front corner and several multi-story bay windows on its street-facing facades; the turret was originally topped by an onion dome. The building's design also includes arched windows with decorative brickwork, limestone windowsills and lintels, and ornamental terra cotta. Hobbs operated his furniture store in the building until his death in 1926; the building has had several owners since then, most of them other stores, but has been vacant since 1990.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 17, 2021.

The International Harvester Showroom and Warehouse is a historic building at 6-12 North River Street in Aurora, Illinois. The building served as a dealership for farming equipment company International Harvester, which was headquartered nearby in Chicago, in the early twentieth century. While the building's construction date is unclear, it was built before 1901, and International Harvester first occupied it in 1905. The building was one of 99 independently run International Harvester dealerships in the United States and Canada in the 1900s, and in 1905 it was among the company's top ten dealers in sales. The building is technically made up of two conjoined buildings with mirrored floor plans; each building has a cast iron store front, and their open floor plans and tall floors were ideal for holding large equipment. In 1912, International Harvester relocated their dealership to a larger building at 251 South River Street.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 31, 2022.
