The St. Peter and St. Paul's Church (Georgian: თბილისის წმინდა პეტრესა და პავლეს კათოლიკური ეკლესია) is a Roman Catholic church in Tbilisi, the Georgian capital. Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass there during his visit to Georgia in October 1999.The church was built between 1870 and 1877 on the initiative of Konstantine Zubalashvili, an important member of the Catholic community in Georgia. The project was entrusted to the architect Albert Zaltsman. The architecture of the church is characterized by a marked baroque style. The church entrance is west. Above the wooden front door there is a rose window decorated with floral ornaments and a dove. These were added in the years after 2000, while the original very high and arched door was transformed into a wall, where the rose window was put, and the church painted in yellow. Its original colour used to be white and silver-grey. The facade is divided by pilasters and arches of a more intense yellow (which used to be originally silver-grey) of Corinth that the rest of the structure.

Marjanishvili (Georgian: მარჯანიშვილი) is a station on the Akhmeteli–Varketili Line of the Tbilisi Metro. It opened on 11 January 1966. The station is named after Kote Marjanishvili, a Georgian theater director.

David Aghmashenebeli Avenue (Georgian: დავით აღმაშენებლის გამზირი) is one of the main avenues in the historical part of Tbilisi, known for its 19th-century classical architecture. The avenue is located on the left bank of the Kura River and runs from Saarbrücken Square to Giorgi Tsabadze street. Currently named after David IV of Georgia, it was originally called Mikheil Street in 1851, and Plekhanov Street after the Russian revolutionary Georgi Plekhanov from 1918 to 1988. Since 2010, the avenue has seen major rehabilitation works, which includes the renovation of seventy buildings, as well as the road, sidewalks and street lighting.Agmashenebeli is easily accessible by metro at Marjanishvili Station, which is a single stop away from the city's second historical artery, Rustaveli Avenue.

Kote Marjanishvili State Academic Drama Theatre (Georgian: კოტე მარჯანიშვილის სახელობის სახელმწიფო აკადემიური დრამატული თეატრი) is a state theatre in Tbilisi, Georgia. It is one of the oldest and most significant theatres in the country, coming second perhaps only to the national Rustaveli Theatre. The theatre was founded in Kutaisi in 1928 by Kote Marjanishvili. It moved to Tbilisi in 1930 to the former Brothers Zubalashvili philanthropic "Public House", the building it still occupies. The theatre's art nouveau edifice was thoroughly renovated and reopened in 2006 with the premiere of Bertolt Brecht's The Threepenny Opera.

Shota Rustaveli Theater and Georgia State Film University (TAFU) is one of the oldest universities in the Caucasus and Georgia. The Theater and Film University has dedicated solely to the visual and performing arts. The chief founder of the University was a well-known Georgian theater actor and director, Lado Meskhishvili

The 1984 Tbilisi gas explosion was a gas explosion in a nine-storey apartment block in Tbilisi, Georgia on 2 December 1984 that killed at least 100 people.

The Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) (Georgian: საქართველოს საზოგადოებრივ საქმეთა ინსტიტუტი) was created in 1994 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Four separate schools of the Institute offer MA, BA programs and training courses in the spheres of Public Affairs, Local Governance, Journalism, International Affairs and Law, as well as a PhD program in the social sciences. GIPA is considered one of the top three universities in Georgia, alongside the Free University of Tbilisi and Tbilisi State University.The Georgian Institute of Public Affairs is a national center for development of practices in Public Administration, Law, Politics and Journalism. Since its establishment, GIPA brought together leaders from business, media, civil society and public services to contribute to developing effective governance at state, municipal and local levels as well as independent and viable media in Georgia through interactive education programs, research and training.The university is governed by a board, some of which are appointed by the existing members whereas others are elected by the university academic board. The board also appoints the rector, who, as an executive director of the university, is responsible for its strategic development. Previous directors of GIPA include Giorgi Margvelashvili. Apart from graduate degree and certified training programs, GIPA carries out many research and training projects. It also publishes student newspaper "Brosse Street Journal" and manages the first English-language and student run Radio GIPA.

The Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel is a hotel in the city center of Tbilisi located on Rose Revolution Square. The hotel was built in 1967 by the Soviet government as the premier luxury hotel of the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic and was named Hotel Iveria after the ancient kingdom of Iveria. As a result of the war in Abkhazia in 1992, the hotel became a refugee camp housing more than 800 refugees. In 2004 the refugees were removed from the hotel and offered $7000 per room. The dilapidated hotel was stripped down to its steel structural frame and completely rebuilt as a modern luxury business hotel, managed by the Radisson Hotels group. It reopened in 2009 as the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel.

Tbilisi Railway station (Georgian: თბილისის ცენტრალური სადგური, tbilisis tsent'raluri sadguri) is a railway station located in Tbilisi, Georgia. Originally built in 1872, Tbilisi Railway station has undergone various architectural transformations, and currently serves as a combined railway station and shopping mall.

The Georgian National Opera and Ballet Theater of Tbilisi (Georgian: თბილისის ოპერისა და ბალეტის სახელმწიფო აკადემიური თეატრი), formerly known as the Tiflis Imperial Theater, is an opera house situated on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, Georgia. Founded in 1851, Tbilisi Opera is the main opera house of Georgia and one of the oldest such establishments in Eastern Europe and Western Asia. Since 1896, the theater has resided in an exotic neo-Moorish edifice originally constructed by Victor Johann Gottlieb Schröter, a prominent architect of Baltic German origin. Although definitively Oriental in its decorations and style, the building's layout, foyers and the main hall are that of a typical European opera house. Since its foundation, the theater has been damaged by several fires and underwent major rehabilitation works under Soviet and Georgian leadership; the most recent restoration effort concluded in January 2016, having taken six years and costing approximately 40 million U.S. dollars, donated by a Georgian business foundation.The opera house is one of the centers of cultural life in Tbilisi and was once home to Zacharia Paliashvili, the Georgian national composer whose name the institution has carried since 1937. The Opera and Ballet Theater also houses the State Ballet of Georgia under the leadership of internationally renowned Georgian ballerina Nina Ananiashvili. In recent years it has hosted opera stars such as Montserrat Caballé and José Carreras, while also serving as a traditional venue for national celebrations and presidential inaugurations.

The death of Arina Glazunova occurred on the night of September 27, 2024 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Glazunova was a 24-year-old Russian influencer who died after falling into an underground subway passage while taking a selfie video. The accident received wide attention online and sparked conversations about infrastructure safety in Tbilisi.

First Republic Square (Georgian: პირველი რესპუბლიკის მოედანი) former Rose Revolution Square (Georgian: ვარდების რევოლუციის მოედანი) is a square in the Vera district of Tbilisi at the western end of Rustaveli Ave.
