Provolt is an unincorporated community in Jackson County, Oregon, United States. It is about 15 miles (24 km) southeast of Grants Pass on Oregon Route 238, near the Applegate River on the county line between Jackson and Josephine counties.Provolt post office was named for a pioneer family of the area. The Provolt Store was started about 1875 by Samuel Provolt. The post office was established in 1895 in what was then Josephine County; Mary E. Provolt was the first postmaster. The office was discontinued in 1955.According to author Ralph Friedman, Provolt's entire business district consists of the historic country store. Provolt, however, also has a grange hall one block south of the store.

Slagle Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is a tributary to the Applegate River.Slagle Creek was named in 1858 after one Conrad Slagle.

Williams is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Josephine County, Oregon, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,072.There were three different post offices in the area named for their proximity to Williams Creek: Williams, Williamsburg and Williams Creek (in Jackson County). Williams Creek, which flows into the Applegate River, was named for Captain Robert Williams, who fought against Rogue River Indians along the creek during the Rogue River Wars of 1855–6. Williams post office was established in 1881 and is about six miles upstream from Provolt on Williams Creek, and two miles west of the Jackson-Josephine county line. The community is served by the Three Rivers School District; Williams Elementary School is located in the community.

Applegate Valley is the valley of the Applegate River in Southern Oregon, United States and extending slightly into Northern California. It encompasses the area between Applegate and Grants Pass, generally 20 miles (30 km) west of Medford. Oregon Route 238 (Jacksonville Highway) is a main route through the valley. Many wineries of the Applegate Valley AVA (American Viticultural Area), a sub-appellation of the Rogue Valley AVA, are located in the valley. The area is also a well known medical marijuana growing region.

Foots Creek is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Jackson County, in the U.S. state of Oregon. It lies along Oregon Route 99 near the mouth of Foots Creek, where it empties into the Rogue River. Interstate 5 and Valley of the Rogue State Park are on the side of the river opposite Foots Creek.For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined Foots Creek as a census-designated place (CDP). The census definition of the area may not precisely correspond to local understanding of the area with the same name. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 799.The community "has been known as 'Bolt' since pioneer days." The stream takes its name from O. G. Foot, a miner who prospected along the stream in the 19th century. A post office named Foots Creek had a brief existence in this vicinity in 1878–79. Silas Draper was the postmaster.

Valley of the Rogue State Park is a state park in west central Jackson County, Oregon, near Grants Pass and Medford, and is administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. It lies along the banks of the Rogue River, adjacent to Interstate 5. The park offers a year-round, full-service campground, a nature trail, a day-use area, and river access for boating, fishing, and swimming.
