Valley of the Rogue State Park is a state park in west central Jackson County, Oregon, near Grants Pass and Medford, and is administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. It lies along the banks of the Rogue River, adjacent to Interstate 5. The park offers a year-round, full-service campground, a nature trail, a day-use area, and river access for boating, fishing, and swimming.

Evans Creek is a tributary, about 35 miles (56 km) long, of the Rogue River in the U.S. state of Oregon. It begins near Richter Mountain in the Cascade Range and flows generally south to The Meadows then southwest to Wimer then south to the city of Rogue River, all in Jackson County. The creek enters the river about 111 miles (179 km) from the Rogue's mouth on the Pacific Ocean. Wimer Bridge, a one-lane covered bridge crosses the creek at Wimer.Named tributaries from source to mouth are Railroad Gap, Wolf, Coal, Chapman, Canon, and Morrison creeks. Further downstream come Spignet, West Fork Evans, May, Sykes, and Pleasant creeks. Last are Bear Branch and Fielder Creek.Pleasant Creek was named after Pleasant M. Armstrong, a pioneer who was killed near its course.Formerly listed among the 10 worst dams in the state for migratory fish passage, two abandoned dams on Evans Creek were demolished in 2015. The removal of the Wimer and Fielder dams opened about 70 miles (110 km) of stream channels in the watershed to salmon and steelhead. Wimer Dam was about 9 miles (14 km) from the mouth of Evans Creek, and Fielder Dam was further downstream.

Rock Point is an unincorporated community in Jackson County, Oregon, United States. Rock Point lies just north of an I-5 and Oregon Route 99 interchange along the Rogue River between the cities of Rogue River and Gold Hill.The community's name derives from the geologic formations at this location. Writers have sometime referred to the location as Point of Rocks, and early settlers called it Dardanelles. A Dardanelles post office opened near here on October 19, 1852, with William G. T'Vault as postmaster. The T'Vault property was on the south side of the river east of Rock Point.Rock Point was an important stop for travelers in the 19th century. A tavern built here in the 1870s is still standing. The community also had a railroad station named Rock Point and a Rock Point post office that operated from 1859 through 1912 with John B. White as the first postmaster. The community is known for a "fine concrete arch" bridge that was built by McCullough 1919, that carries the old Pacific Highway (Route 99) over the river.

The Palmerton Arboretum is an arboretum of 5 acres (20,000 m2) which contains almost 90 species of trees and shrubs from around the world. It is located on West Evans Creek Road in Rogue River, Oregon, United States on the site of a 1930s-era tree nursery. Admission is free.The Arboretum features over 40 species of mature trees including Japanese pines, Mediterranean cedars, redwoods, and other trees native to the Pacific Northwest. It also contains several kinds of azaleas and rhododendrons, plus a variety of other labeled plants, shrubs and trees, as well as a duck pond, playground, and picnic area.

The Southern Oregon AVA is an American Viticultural Area which lies in Southern Oregon, United States. The Southern Oregon AVA was established in 2005 and was created to include the land of two smaller AVAs: the Rogue Valley AVA and the Umpqua Valley AVA. Southern Oregon AVA was established to allow the two principal winegrowing regions in the southern part of the state to market themselves jointly. This creation of a "super-AVA" is a departure from the trend in the Willamette Valley AVA or northern Oregon of establishing smaller AVAs specific to a particular locale's climate or soil conditions.
