Westport Airport (FAA LID: 71K) is a privately owned, public use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) southwest of the central business district of Wichita, a city in Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States. It is in the Class C airspace of neighboring Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport.Westport, popularly known as Dead Cow International, hosts, fuels and maintains light aircraft, services and sells parts for Cessna cropdusters, and is a center for restoration and operation of vintage aircraft.

Newman University is a private Roman Catholic university in Wichita, Kansas. It is named for John Henry Newman and was founded by the Adorers of the Blood of Christ in 1933.

Towne West Square is an enclosed shopping mall located in Wichita, Kansas, United States. Opened on Friday, March 6, 1981, it comprises more than 50 stores in 951,447 square feet (88,392.3 m2) of gross leasable area. The mall's three anchor stores are Dick's Sporting Goods, Dillard's Clearance Center and JCPenney. The original anchor stores in the mall were: Dillard's, Henry's, JCPenney, Montgomery Ward and Service Merchandise (formerly Wilson's Catalog Showroom). Henry's closed in 1988. The structure was later sealed off from the rest of the mall and currently houses 54 West Music Hall. Sears opened in 1993 (12 years after the rest of the mall) moving a store from the open air Twin Lakes Shopping Center. Sears closed in December 2014. Their anchor store structure was taken over by Convergys and converted to office space, which was no longer accessible from the interior of the mall. In 2017, Dillard's closed their women's store anchor on the mall's north side and converted their men's store (located in the former Montgomery Ward) into a Dillard's Clearance Center. Sears Hometown, operated in the old Henry's, but closed in 2019. Later, Convergys was renamed Concentrix. In 2021, the former Concentrix space was purchased and is now MCI. On July 31, 2020, JCPenney put 21 stores for sale as part of their bankruptcy, this location included. The store was reaffirmed in 2021 and remains open and operating. Towne West contains a mix of local and national retailers.

The B-29 Doc Hangar, Education and Visitors Center is an aviation museum located at the Eisenhower National Airport in Wichita, Kansas.

On October 30, 2014, a Beechcraft King Air B200 twin turboprop crashed into a building hosting a FlightSafety International (FSI) training center shortly after taking off from Wichita Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita, Kansas. The pilot, the only person on board, was killed along with three people in the building; six more people in the building were injured. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) concluded that the crash most likely occurred due to the pilot's inability to successfully control the aircraft after a reduction in power from the left engine.

Adair–Austin Stadium is a sport stadium on the campus of Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. The facility is primarily used by the Friends University Falcons football, soccer, and track and field teams. The stadium is also used for other community events.

Friends University is a private nondenominational Christian university in Wichita, Kansas. It was founded in 1898. The main building was originally built in 1886 for Garfield University but was donated in 1898 to the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) by James Davis, a St. Louis business man. In the 1930s the leadership of the school was turned over to an independent board of trustees, with some representation of the Mid-America Yearly Meeting of Friends on the board. It operates today with "an amicable but independent relationship with the evangelical branch of the Society of Friends."

The 2013 Wichita Bomb Attempt was an attempted suicide bombing that targeted the Wichita Mid-Continent Airport on December 13, 2013. The attack was attempted by 58-year old avionics technician Terry Lee Loewen.

Northfield School of the Liberal Arts is a private classical Christian school in Wichita, Kansas. It was established in 1993, and operates from grades 6 to 12. It has its roots in the Liberal Arts, but also puts a large emphasis on the great books: a collection of 150 books that are important to the development of western thought.
