Lawrence–Dumont Stadium, previously known as Lawrence Stadium, was a baseball stadium in Wichita, Kansas, United States. It was located on the northwest corner of McLean Boulevard and Maple Street, along the west bank of the Arkansas River, in the Delano neighborhood of downtown Wichita. The stadium held 6,400 fans and most recently was the home field of the Wichita Wingnuts independent baseball team from 2008 until 2018, and was home to the annual National Baseball Congress World Series from 1935 until 2018.The city of Wichita tore down Lawrence-Dumont Stadium to build a new stadium for the Wichita Wind Surge, who relocated from New Orleans in 2020. The new stadium is named Riverfront Stadium.

The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame is a museum located in Wichita, dedicated to preserving the history of sports in the state of Kansas. The museum provides exhibits, archives, facilities, services, and activities to honor those individuals and teams whose achievements in sports brought distinction to themselves, to their communities and to the entire state of Kansas.

Yunker Aircraft Company was an American aircraft manufacturer of the late 1920sGeorge C. Yunker, was head of a tractor agency in Dodge City, Kansas. He founded the Yunker Aircraft company in Wichita, hiring W.E. Laird as production manager. The company contracted Knoll Aircraft Company to produce some models. The company went into receivership to C.V. Snyder in 1930 with $230 owed in labor.

Ackerman Island was a sandbar island located in the Arkansas River in downtown Wichita, Kansas, United States. It was located on the north side of the Douglas Street Bridge.

Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center is a performing arts and convention center in Wichita, Kansas, United States. It is located between Douglas Street and Waterman Street near the east bank of the Arkansas River in downtown Wichita. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020. Century II is the largest center for entertainment, consumer shows and meetings in Wichita and is home to four arts organizations - Wichita Symphony Orchestra, Wichita Grand Opera, Music Theatre Wichita, and Music Theatre for Young People. The facility has almost 200,000 sq ft (19,000 m2) of contiguous exhibit space, 20 meeting rooms, a Concert Hall that seats 2,197 people in continental seating, the Mary Jane Teall Theatre that seats 650 people in continental seating, and Convention Hall that seats 4,700 people.The Performing Arts and Convention Center hosted Miss USA pageants from 1990 to 1993 and Miss Teen USA 1995, as well as the 1989 ABC Masters tournament.

The Wichita Central Library is a public library building in Downtown Wichita, Kansas. It operated from 1967 to 2018, replacing the Wichita City Carnegie Library Building and replaced by the Wichita Public Library system's Advanced Learning Library. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020. The library is the first Brutalist-style building constructed in Kansas, and the first of the style in the state nominated to the National Register.

250 Douglas Place (also known as the Garvey Center) is a high-rise apartment community. It is the second tallest building in Wichita as well as in the state of Kansas. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021.The Garvey Center was completed in 1969. From 1969 until 1987, it was the tallest building in Wichita, until the Epic Center was constructed, it still has the most number of floors of any building in the state.On August 11, 1976, Michael Soles, an unemployed welder from Sand Springs, Oklahoma, set up a sniper position on the roof of the Holiday Inn Plaza, as the building was then named. Over the course of an eleven-minute shooting spree, he killed 3 and wounded 6. The gunman was wounded by police and taken into custody. The building appeared the 1976 film King Kung Fu (a low budget knock-off of King Kong).

KCTU-LD, virtual channel 5 (UHF digital channel 23), is a low-powered This TV-affiliated television station licensed to Wichita, Kansas, United States. The station is owned by River City Broadcasters, Inc. KCTU-LD's studios are located on Water Street in Wichita's Midtown neighborhood, and its transmitter is located atop 250 Douglas Place in downtown. It was one of four low-powered channels in the United States to distribute RT America (Russia Today), which received funding from the Russian government and was accused of promoting Russian propaganda. The U.S. State Department has declared that Russian media outlets RT and Sputnik are "critical elements in Russia's disinformation and propaganda ecosystem." RT America ceased operations in March 2022 during Russia's invasion of Ukraine; KCTU replaced the network with France 24. It is also one of a few over-the-air stations that carry Infowars, the largely deplatformed fringe/far-right conspiracy channel operated by Alex Jones.

Wichita West High School, known locally as West, is a public secondary school in Wichita, Kansas, United States. It is operated by Wichita USD 259 school district and serves students in grades 9 to 12. The high school is located southwest of downtown Wichita and near U.S. Route 54. The current principal is Mark Jolliffe.

The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving and presenting the local history of Wichita and Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States. It is located at 204 South Main (southeast of the corner of Main and William streets), and east of the former Wichita Public Library.

The Wichita City Carnegie Library Building located at 220 S. Main Street in Wichita, Kansas, Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States, is a Carnegie library built in 1915. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The two-story, limestone Beaux Arts building stands in the southwestern part of Wichita's central business district, directly south of the old City Hall. Its façade orientation is west. The building measures approximately one hundred and twenty-eight feet from north to south and eighty-three feet from east to west. After the completion of Wichita's Central Library in 1966, the Wichita City Carnegie Library Building served as city offices and the municipal court until the Wichita Omnisphere and Science Center established its tenancy in 1976, followed by changing tenants. The two-story, ashlar cut, limestone block building sits on an ashlar cut, limestone block, raised foundation with a multiply moulded watertable. Three bays comprise the rectangular building's façade and rear. The building's main body is one bay deep, a one-bay-by-one-bay brick unit extends from the rear elevation's center bay. A parapetted entry pavilion projects from the facade's center bay. A short, square tower rises from the building's central bay, covered by a rounded, truncated hipped roof sheathed with pantiles and surmounted by a monitor roof. Tripartite windows with translucent glass pierce each wall of the central tower. Standing seam metal covers the gable roofs of the two main wings, the metal may have been tarred. Two skylights, which have been covered due to water leakage, pierce the gable roofs midway. The entry pavilion and the rear extension have low roofs hidden by parapets, they are likely covered with tar and gravel. The building retains its original metal drain pipes on the outer edges of the façade and the rear extension. A limestone or terracotta entablature, consisting of a multiply moulded bottom course surmounted by an egg and dart architrave, a bracketed frieze, and an incised vegetal and shell motif cornice engages the building on all elevations except the rear.The interior was designed by interior designer Louise Caldwell Murdock, a noted interior designer trained at the Parsons School of Fine Art in New York. In 1987 it was described that the building "maintains its original atrium floorplan and ceramic tiled floors. The beamed and coffered first level ceiling, the Doric pilasters below the ceiling beams, the first level marble columns, the egg and dart moulding ceiling cornice on the first level, the wooden door and window surrounds, the double cast iron staircase in the vestibule, and the three story, classically detailed atrium surround are retained."In 2006, Fidelity Bank purchased the building, and is now its corporate headquarters.
