Old Park Hill is a 40-hectare (100-acre) nature reserve north of Dover in Kent. It is managed by the Kent Wildlife Trust (KWT). It is in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.This steeply sloping hill has woodland, scrub and grassland. The site has not been managed since around 2005, and the KWT is removing scrub to increase restore its mainly grassland habitat, providing an increased area suitable for meadow butterflies, reptiles and orchids.There is access from Whitfield Hill.

Malvern House Preparatory School, at Kearsney, Kent, was a preparatory school which specialised in preparing boys for entry to the Royal Naval College at Dartmouth.

The Crabble Athletic Ground, also known as simply Crabble, or The Crabble is a football stadium located in the northern Dover suburb of River, Kent. It was the home of the various incarnations of Dover F.C. from 1931 until the club folded in 1983. Since then it has been the home of Dover Athletic F.C., and it was also the temporary home of Margate F.C. between 2002 and 2004, when the club's Hartsdown Park stadium was being redeveloped. The stadium has two seated stands and two covered terraces and holds a total of 5,745 fans (including 1,010 seats and 3,642 covered terracing), although in the past, crowds larger than that figure could be accommodated. It also has a clubhouse, which the club completely redeveloped in 2008. A sports ground was first established on the site at the end of the 19th century and was used for both cricket and football as well as for other sports. This ground was used by Kent County Cricket Club for over 100 first-class cricket matches between 1907 and 1976 and is now the home of Dover Rugby Union Club.

Kearsney railway station is on the Dover branch of the Chatham Main Line in England, and serves Kearsney and Temple Ewell. It is 75 miles 9 chains (120.9 km) down the line from London Victoria and is situated between Shepherds Well and Dover Priory, the terminus. The station and all trains that serve the station are operated by Southeastern. The booking office in the station building on the country-bound platform is open only for very limited hours on Mondays to Fridays mornings but a Permit To Travel ticket machine (also on the country-bound platform) caters for out-of-hours ticketing. The station and the line it serves were built by the London, Chatham & Dover Railway as the station for Temple Ewell and the parish of River. The community of Kearsney grew around the Railway Bell Hotel which was on the main Dover to London road. The station had a small goods siding, and a siding for passenger trains. The next stop towards the coast was Dover, and there was also a loop that took the railway directly onto the Kent Coast Line towards Margate, bypassing Dover. In the early days of the railway this meant trains did not always have to make the steep climb out of Dover. In practice the loop was little used for passenger trains, and mainly used by freight. Latterly the line was used by coal trains to Richborough power station.

Kearsney is a village in Kent, England. At one time it would have been called a hamlet, there being no church there. The population of the village is included in the civil parish of Temple Ewell.

Temple Ewell is a civil parish and historic village in the county of Kent, England. The village is part of the Dover district of Kent, and forms part of the Dover urban area. It is situated three miles North West of the town of Dover. Situated in the Dour valley, Temple Ewell is surrounded by nature reserves and conservation areas. The village has a parish church, a village hall and a primary school. It also has a local shop and post office, and an 18th-century public house. Temple Ewell is served by Kearsney railway station, which is situated between the villages of Temple Ewell, Kearsney and River. The 2001 Census records a population including Kearnsey, of 1,696 for Temple Ewell, falling to 1,669 at the 2011 Census.

Nemo Down is a 21-hectare (50-acre) nature reserve on the western outskirts of Dover in Kent. It was shown as owned and managed by the Kent Wildlife Trust until 2018.This site has chalk grassland, scrub and woodland. There is a diverse range of plants including pyramidal orchids and wood anemones, and butterflies such as the marbled white and wall brown.There is access, which can be very muddy, on Coombe Road.

Whitfield is a village, civil parish and electoral ward in the English county of Kent. It now forms part of the urban area of the town of Dover. It has a modern counterpart in the large settlement located at the junction of the A2 and A256 roads, some four miles (6.4 km) north of Dover.

Buckland including Buckland Valley is a village near (and now merged with) Dover, England. It is noted for the Buckland Anglo-Saxon cemetery whose finds now belong to the British Museum but are on display at Dover Museum. English railway contractor, Edward Betts, was born in Buckland.

Whinless Down is a 19.3-hectare (48-acre) Local Nature Reserve on the western outskirts of Dover in Kent. It is owned by Dover Town Council and managed by the White Cliffs Countryside Partnership.Dover Castle can be viewed from the down, which has rare plants such as cypress spurge, horseshoe vetch and crown vetch. There are also uncommon butterflies and moths including Adonis blue, Chalkhill blue, Scarce forester moth and Silver spotted skipper.There is access by a footpath from Kings Road and paths leading from behind Elms Vale Recreation Ground, There is also access via High Meadow and the adjoining Nemo Down. Whinless Down, High Meadow and Nemo Down together form a network of pathways covering an area of over 60.7-hectare (150 acres).

High Meadow is a 21.3-hectare (53-acre) Local Nature Reserve on the western outskirts of Dover in Kent. It is owned by Dover Town Council and managed by The White Cliffs Countryside Partnership. It was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 2006.This hilltop meadow has views in all directions. It is grazed by konik horses, which help to preserve the variety of plants and animals. Flora include fragrant, common spotted and pyramidal orchids.There are several entrances including from Edred Road and steep steps from Coombe Valley Road.
