Barren County High School

Pritchardsville is a rural unincorporated community in central Barren County, Kentucky, United States.

Barren County is a county located in the south-central portion of the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 44,485. Its county seat is Glasgow. The county was founded on December 20, 1798, from parts of Warren and Green Counties. It was named for the Barrens, meadowlands that cover the northern third, though actually the soil is fertile. Barren County is part of the Glasgow, KY Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Bowling Green-Glasgow, KY Combined Statistical Area. In 2007 Barren County was named the "Best Place to Live in Rural America" by Progressive Farmer Magazine.

The First Presbyterian Church in Glasgow, Kentucky is a historic church at Washington and Broadway which was built in 1853. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.The First Presbyterian Church was founded in 1803. Its 1853 brick building, at the original site for the church, is the oldest church building in Glasgow, and one of few Gothic Revival-style structures. It has pilasters, Gothic arches, a wood bell tower, and common bond brickwork.

The Confederate Monument in Glasgow, Kentucky, built in 1905 by the Kentucky Women's Monumental Association and former Confederate soldier John A. Murray, commemorates those who gave their lives in service for the Confederate States of America. It is located on the side of Glasgow's courthouse. The Confederate soldier, made of bronze, is at parade rest, and features details such as a bedroll, canteen, kepi hat, and rifle. It stands on a limestone pedestal.Glasgow saw much action in 1862. John Hunt Morgan twice raided through the city. The most notable was Christmas Eve, when some of Morgan's men under Captain Thomas Quirk sought to celebrate the holiday at a tavern in Glasgow, which the Union 2nd Michigan Cavalry also did, leading to a skirmish. Two Union and Three Confederate soldiers were killed, and the Union cavalry retreated to Cave City, leaving Glasgow in Morgan's hands. Braxton Bragg went through the town on his way to capturing Kentucky's capital of Frankfort and the Battle of Perryville.The President of the Confederacy, Jefferson Davis, gave a Medal of Honor to one enlisted man in every company that gave the Confederacy a "signal victory". With seven such men, Barren County, whose county seat is Glasgow, had more such medalists than any other county in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Four of these came from the Battle of Stone's River, and three were from the Battle of Chickamauga; both battles were fought in Tennessee, not Kentucky. It was remembering this valor of his fellow Confederate soldiers who hailed from Barren County that Nelson County native John A. Murray had the Confederate Monument in Glasgow built, with the help of a ladies association.On July 17, 1997, it was one of sixty different monuments to the Civil War in Kentucky placed on the National Register of Historic Places, as part of the Civil War Monuments of Kentucky Multiple Property Submission. Twenty-three of these monuments, including Glasgow's, had cast soldiers as part of the memorial, and Glasgow's is one of ten such soldier monuments in Kentucky that is on a courthouse lawn.

Glasgow is a home rule-class city in Barren County, Kentucky, United States. It is the seat of its county. Glasgow is the principal city of the Glasgow micropolitan area, which comprises Barren and Metcalfe counties. The population was 15,014 at the 2020 U.S. census.The city is well known for its annual Scottish Highland Games. In 2007, Barren County was named the number one rural place to live by The Progressive Farmer magazine.

WWKU (1450 AM) is an ESPN Radio–affiliated sports radio–formatted radio station licensed to Plum Springs, Kentucky, United States, and serving the greater Bowling Green area. The station is owned by Charles M. Anderson as part of a conglomerate with Brownsville–licensed classic hits station WKLX (100.7 FM), Glasgow–licensed classic rock station WPTQ (105.3 FM) and Horse Cave–licensed adult contemporary station WOVO (106.3 FM). All three stations share studios on McIntosh Street near US 231 on the south side of Bowling Green, and its transmitter is located off US 68/KY 80 adjacent to the Barren River northeast of downtown. In addition to its AM signal, WWKU also operates two translator stations on the FM band: Plum Springs–licensed W274CD (102.7 MHz) and Franklin–licensed W222CZ (92.3 MHz).

Glasgow High School is a public high school (grades 9 to 12) in the city of Glasgow, Barren County, Kentucky. It is the only public high school for Glasgow Independent Schools; however, Barren County High School, which is part of Barren County Schools, also lies within the city limits, and in fact lies physically within the boundaries of the Glasgow district. GHS celebrated its 100th commencement upon the graduation of the Class of 2015.

The William Page House is a historic house in Glasgow, Kentucky. It was built in 1814–1815 by William Page, a farmer, on land he had brought from John H. Baker in 1812. The house was inherited by his daughter Elizabeth, who married Colonel Robert Strange; it has also been known as the Colonel Robert Strange House. The family owned slaves. The house was designed in the Federal architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since May 20, 1983. It has an early hall-parlor plan, "exceptionally well-laid brick work," and "very fine interior woodwork".

Haywood is an unincorporated community in Barren County, Kentucky, United States. Its post office closed in October 1934.

The John Mayfield House is a historic house in Glasgow, Kentucky. It was built in the 1830s for John Mayfield and his family. It was later acquired by W. L. Steffey, and his family inherited the property after his death. It was designed in the Federal architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since May 20, 1983.

The Bybee House is a historic house in Glasgow, Kentucky. It was built for William Bybee, "a farmer, livestock trader and land speculator" in 1855, six years before the start of the American Civil War. and it was designed in the Classical Revival architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since August 6, 2012.
