Jaguar, Gurabo, Puerto Rico

Gurabo (Spanish pronunciation: [ɡuˈɾaβo]) is a town and municipality in eastern Puerto Rico. It is located in the central eastern region, north of San Lorenzo; south of Trujillo Alto; east of Caguas; and west of Carolina and Juncos. Gurabo is spread over 9 barrios and Gurabo Pueblo (the downtown area and the administrative center of the city). It is part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The Church San José of Gurabo (Spanish: Iglesia San José de Gurabo) is a historic Catholic parish church located in Gurabo Pueblo (downtown Gurabo) in the municipality of Gurabo, Puerto Rico. The parish church is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Caguas.The current church structure dates to 1821, and it was erected 6 years after the official founding of the municipality of Gurabo. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 18, 1984.

Gurabo barrio-pueblo is a barrio and the administrative center (seat) of Gurabo, a municipality of Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 1,509.As was customary in Spain, in Puerto Rico, the municipality has a barrio called pueblo which contains a central plaza, the municipal buildings (city hall), and a Catholic church. Fiestas patronales (patron saint festivals) are held in the central plaza every year.

The Puerto Rico Baseball Academy & High School (PRBAHS) is a non-profit organization combining academics and sports programs into one curriculum. Its goal is to prepare its students for higher education, competitive college scholarship opportunities, and the Major League Baseball Draft. The PRBAHS is one of the baseball high schools in Puerto Rico or the United States with this type of learning environment. The school is located 30 minutes outside of San Juan near the University of Turabo in Gurabo, Puerto Rico. It admits students ages 14–18 into 10th through 12th grade.
