Cacao Bajo

Patillas Airport (FAA LID: X64) was a public airport 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south of the small town of Patillas, in Puerto Rico. Google Earth Historical Imagery (12/12/2014) shows an east-west 2,000 feet (610 m) asphalt runway. The (7/14/2015) image shows the runway marked closed. Current imagery (1/1/2018) shows the runway area now used for industrial storage.

The Train of the South — or Tren del Sur in Spanish — is a historic 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) narrow gauge heritage railroad operating within the U.S. commonwealth of Puerto Rico in Arroyo. It was formed in 1984 to preserve the last surviving sugar cane plantation line still in existence on the entire island, which was part of a large railroad system that operated around Puerto Rico prior to the 1950s.

Arroyo is spread over 5 barrios and Arroyo barrio-pueblo (the downtown area and administrative center). It is part of the Guayama Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Punta de las Figuras Light (Spanish: Faro Punta de las Figuras) is an historic lighthouse located in Arroyo, Puerto Rico. It was first lit by the Spanish government in 1893. The light was relocated in 1938, and the structure was deactivated and abandoned. During World War II, the lighthouse was used as a lookout. After the U.S. Army abandoned the structure in 1963, the lighthouse was repeatedly vandalized. In 1969 the lens and lantern were destroyed. The lighthouse was again damaged by Hurricane Maria on September 20, 2017. The light housing is broken, all of the windows are boarded up, and several of the surrounding light pole fixtures are downed. The interior is currently inaccessible. The lighthouse was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1981. In 2003, the Puerto Rican government rehabilitated it at a cost of two million dollars. The lighthouse is located at the entrance of the Balneario Punta Guilarte beach resort managed by the Puerto Rico National Parks Company.

Its population in 2010 was 1,206.As was customary in Spain, in Puerto Rico, the municipality has a barrio called pueblo which contains a central plaza, the municipal buildings (city hall), and a Catholic church. Fiestas patronales (patron saint festivals) are held in the central plaza every year.
