The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is an IndyCar Series race held in St. Petersburg, Florida. In most years since 2009, the race has served as the season opener (or at minimum, the first race held on U.S. soil). The race is held annually in the spring, with the exception of 2020, when it was postponed until October due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The race takes place on a temporary course, utilizing downtown streets, and one runway of Albert Whitted Airport. The event dates back to 1985, with IndyCars first competing in 2003.

The Salvador Dalí Museum is an art museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States, dedicated to the works of Salvador Dalí. Designed by Yann Weymouth, the museum is located on the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront by 5th Avenue Southeast, Bay Shore Drive, and Dan Wheldon Way.

Bayfront Center was an indoor arena located in St. Petersburg, Florida that hosted many concerts, sporting and other events. Depending on the configuration, it could hold up to 8,600 people. The Mahaffey Theater – Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts is a performing arts facility and concert hall located on the downtown waterfront in St. Petersburg, Florida. The facility first opened on May 6, 1965. The 2,031-seat facility features European box-style seating, a ballroom space and views of Tampa Bay. The theater is close to museums such as the Salvador Dalí Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, and several beaches. The Mahaffey hosts national and international artists and performances – Broadway, classical, pop, rock, country, Americana/folk, jazz, comedy, dance and the Florida Orchestra. The Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts, associated with the theater, supports the 'Class Acts' program, which enables school children to experience the performing arts through in-theater performances as well as in-school outreach and extension programs.

The Port of St. Petersburg is a port located near downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. The Port of St. Petersburg is used by the U.S. Coast Guard under Sector St. Petersburg and serves a super yacht facility.

Al Lang Stadium is a 7,500-seat sports stadium along the waterfront of downtown St. Petersburg, Florida, United States which was used almost exclusively as a baseball park for over 60 years. Since 2011, it has been the home pitch of the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the USL Championship soccer league. Al Lang Stadium was built in 1947 at the site of an older facility known as St. Petersburg Athletic Park. It is named in honor of Al Lang, a former mayor of St. Petersburg who was instrumental in bringing minor league and spring training baseball to the city in the early 20th century. Al Lang Stadium was the spring training home of the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball from 1948 until 1997, with other teams occasionally sharing use of the facility for a few seasons at a time. During the summer, the ballpark was the home field for the Cardinal's minor league franchise in the Florida State League. The Cardinals moved out in 1998, when St. Petersburg gained their own MLB team and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays used Al Lang Stadium as their first spring training venue and minor league ballpark. The Rays constructed a new training facility in Charlotte County a few years later, and Al Lang Stadium hosted its last spring training game in March 2008. The stadium was the site of exhibition and amateur baseball for the next few years until the Tampa Bay Rowdies moved to St. Petersburg from Tampa in 2011. It was incrementally modified into a soccer venue over each of the following off-seasons until October 2014, when the club and the city signed an agreement giving the team more control of the facility, and more extensive renovations were undertaken to expand seating on both sides of the pitch and improve the fan experience. Though former Rowdies' majority owner Bill Edwards proposed expanding the stadium's capacity to 18,000 seats as part of a bid to move the club into Major League Soccer (MLS), the plans were not realized. In 2018, Edwards sold the club to the Tampa Bay Rays ownership group in a deal which also transferred control of Al Lang Stadium.

Rays Ballpark was the name used in project documents for a ballpark in the current location of Al Lang Stadium on the Tampa Bay waterfront in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida, proposed by the Tampa Bay Rays as a replacement for Tropicana Field. The Rays had hoped to complete the park in time for the 2012 season, but the proposal did not garner enough public support, and the project was abandoned.

The University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus is a campus of the University of South Florida in St. Petersburg, Florida. Opened in 1965 as a satellite campus of the University of South Florida, it was consolidated with the other two USF campuses (Tampa and Sarasota-Manatee) as of July 1, 2020. USF's St. Petersburg campus is the only public university in Pinellas County. The campus enrolled 4,455 students during the fall 2019 semester.

At 116.1 m (381 ft.), Signature Place is the third tallest skyscraper and the second tallest residential skyscraper in St. Petersburg. The residential skyscraper contains 243 residential units.

The Ponce De Leon Boutique Hotel, also known as Hotel Ponce De Leon in St. Petersburg, Florida, is a historic landmark and Mission Revival hotel in Downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. It is located at 95 Central Avenue, and on the corner of 10 Beach Drive. It was added to the Pinellas County Historic Preservation Committee in December 1997 (HPC #97-04).

One St. Petersburg is a 41-story high rise condominium located in the city of St. Petersburg, Florida, United States. Standing 450 feet (140 m) tall, it is the tallest building in St. Petersburg and Pinellas County. The high rise contains 253 condominium rooms that range from 1,400 to 2,500 square feet. The building's second high rise includes a hotel across the lot with 174 rooms, 13 stories high. The ground level of the building contains retail space. Construction began on November 16, 2015, and was completed in 2019, after a delay from the original planned date of 2018.
