Mount Polhov Gradec

Praproče (pronounced [ˈpɾaːpɾɔtʃɛ]) is a small village west of Polhov Gradec in the Municipality of Dobrova–Polhov Gradec in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It includes part of the hamlet of Zalog northwest of the main settlement, in the valley of Big Božna Creek.

Briše pri Polhovem Gradcu (pronounced [ˈbɾiːʃɛ pɾi ˈpoːu̯xɔʋɛm ˈɡɾaːtsu]) is a dispersed settlement just south of Polhov Gradec in the Municipality of Dobrova–Polhov Gradec in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It lies in the valley of Little Creek (Mala Voda) on the road from Polhov Gradec to Lučine and includes the hamlets of Škofijski Hrib (Slovene: Škofijski hrib), Zavrh, and Štebavnik. It is surrounded by Praproče Hill (Praproški grič, 594 m) and Mount Polhov Gradec (Polhograjska gora, 842 m) to the north, Little Peak (Mali vrh, 708 m) to the west, Big Hill (Visoki hrib, 602 m) to the south, Kladnik Hill (588 m) to the southeast, and Zvonščica Hill (530 m) to the east.

Polhov Gradec Castle (Slovene: Grad Polhov Gradec, German: Billichgrätz or Pilchgrez, also known as the Old Castle, Stari Grad) is a castle ruin above the settlement of Polhov Gradec, in the Municipality of Dobrova–Polhov Gradec in central Slovenia. It is located on Calvary Hill (Kalvarija, also known as Old Castle–Calvary Hill, Stari grad - Kalvarija, 460 m) immediately northwest of the town center.

It was established in 1985 and is the oldest communications institution in the country. It stems from the tradition of the Museum of the Hungarian Crown Post Office, established in Budapest in 1887. The museum, which from 1985 until 2008 operated at Loka Castle in Škofja Loka, now resides at Polhov Gradec Manor. It is a branch of the Technical Museum of Slovenia. It has several sections, including a section on the role of women as switchboard operators and telegraphists. It also keeps a collection of stamps.

Big Božna Creek (Slovene: Velika Božna) or simply the Božna, also known as Božja Creek (Božja voda), or Big Creek (Velika voda) is a stream in northwestern Slovenia. It is the left source tributary of the Gradaščica, the right one being Little Creek (Mala voda). It was recorded under the German names Salog bach or Sallog Bach (i.e., Zalog Creek) in the 18th century.

It includes the hamlets of Zalog, Butajnova, Veliki Vrh (Slovene: Veliki vrh), and Mali Vrh (Slovene: Mali vrh). Setnik is known as Setjək in the local dialect.

Selo nad Polhovim Gradcem (pronounced [ˈsɛːlɔ nat ˈpou̯ːxoʋim ˈɡɾaːtsɛm]) is a dispersed settlement in the hills above Polhov Gradec in the Municipality of Dobrova–Polhov Gradec in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It lies between the Petač Gorge (Slovene: Petačev graben) with Big Božna Creek to the south and the Hrastnica Valley to the north. It is on a formerly important freight route between Škofja Loka and Polhov Gradec.
