Casablanca, also known in Arabic as Dar al-Bayda (Arabic: الدَّار الْبَيْضَاء, romanized: ad-Dār ul-Bayḍāʾ, [adˈdaːru ɫbajdˤaːʔ], lit.: "White House"; Berber languages: ⵜⴰⴷⴷⴰⵔⵜ ⵜⵓⵎⵍⵉⵍⵜ, romanized: Taddart Tumlilt) is the largest city in Morocco and the country's economic and business center. Located on the Atlantic coast of the Chaouia plain in the central-western part of Morocco, the city has a population of about 3.71 million in the urban area, and over 4.27 million in the Greater Casablanca, making it the most populous city in the Maghreb region, and the eighth-largest in the Arab world. Casablanca is Morocco's chief port, with the Port of Casablanca being one of the largest artificial ports in the world, and the second largest port in North Africa, after Tanger-Med (40 km (25 mi) east of Tangier). Casablanca also hosts the primary naval base for the Royal Moroccan Navy. Casablanca is considered a Global Financial Centre, ranking 54th globally in the Global Financial Centres Index rankings for the year 2022, outperforming many cities such as New Delhi, Jakarta, Istanbul, and Mexico City. Casablanca is ranked among the Emerging International contenders, and it is considered the largest financial center in Africa. The leading Moroccan companies and many of the larger American and European corporations doing business in the country have their headquarters and main industrial facilities in Casablanca. Recent industrial statistics show Casablanca is the primary industrial zone of the nation.

Grand Casablanca or Greater Casablanca (Arabic: الدار البيضاء الكبرى; Amazigh: Tamnaḍt Tameqqṛant n Anfa) was one of the sixteen former regions of Morocco that existed from 1997 to 2015. Located in coastal northwestern Morocco, it was the most densely populated region and covered an area of 1,117 km². The population at the 2014 census was 4,270,750. The region was the economic heart of the Moroccan economy with Casablanca, the region's capital, being the effective economic capital of Morocco. The region was bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the north and by the region of Chaouia-Ouardigha on the other three sides. The last wāli or governor of Greater Casablanca was Mohammed Kabbaj.

Aïn Chock (Arabic: عين الشق) is a district, arrondissement and southern suburb of Casablanca, in the Casablanca-Settat region of Morocco, on the road to El Jadida. It is known for hosting the faculties of the Hassan II University. The district covers an area of 28.89 square kilometres (14.5 square miles), and as of 2004 had 253,496 inhabitants. The district contains one arrondissement, also named Aïn Chock.

Sbata (Arabic: سباتة) is an arrondissement of Casablanca, in the Ben M'Sick district of the Casablanca-Settat region of Morocco. As of 2004 it had 122,827 inhabitants.

Hassan II University of Casablanca (UH2C) (Arabic: جامعة الحسن الثاني بالدار البیضاء‎; French: Université Hassan II de Casablanca), established in 1975, is a public university which is the result of a recent merger since 1 September 2014 of two universities: Hassan II University Ain Chock - Casablanca and the Hassan II University Mohammedia.

Assunna Mosque (Arabic: مسجد السُّنَّة, Berber: ⵎⴻⵣⴳⵉⴷⴰ ⴰⵙⵓⵏⴰ) is a mosque designed by Jean-François Zevaco in a modernist architectural style in Casablanca, Morocco in 1966. It features brutalist architectural elements such as raw concrete. It is located at the junction of Blvd. 2 Mars and Blvd. Modibo Keïta. It drew inspiration from Oscar Niemeyer's Church of Saint Francis of Assisi in Pampulha, Belo Horizonte.

Sidi Othmane (Arabic: سيدي عثمان) is an arrondissement of southeastern Casablanca, in the Moulay Rachid district of the Casablanca-Settat region of Morocco. As of 2004 it had 76,983 inhabitants.

The Ben M'Sik European Cemetery is a cemetery in Casablanca, Morocco and is described as "a very large civilian cemetery...approximately 6 kilometres from Casablanca town centre". Ben M'Sik European Cemetery contains 38 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War. The Commonwealth plot also contains two war graves of other nationalities and seven non-war burials. Among the latter is the grave of Field Marshal Sir Claude Auchinleck, who held a number of commands during the Second World War. He died in 1981 at the age of 96, and is buried alongside Galley Boy Raymond Steed, who at 14 years of age was the second youngest known Commonwealth casualty of the Second World War.
