Kirchenlamitz

Epprechtstein Castle (German: Burg Epprechtstein) is a former hill castle on the mountain of the same name, the Epprechtstein, which rises above the village of Kirchenlamitz.

The Epprechtstein is a mountain in the northern Fichtel Mountains in northeast Bavaria, Germany, 798 m above sea level (NN). It is mineralogically the most interesting mountain in the entire Fichtel range. Around the summit there are about 20 quarries, in three of which Epprechtstein granite is quarried. The others are closed and partially overgrown.

The Buchberg is a 674-metre-high mountain in the Bavarian Fichtel Mountains. The mountain, which is formed from porphyritic granite, lies south of the village of Reicholdsgrün, in the borough of Kirchenlamitz in the district of Wunsiedel im Fichtelgebirge. The Buchberg is cloaked by a forest, 23 hectares in area, which is one of the few near-natural stands of deciduous forest in the Fichtel Mountains (woodrush beech forest). As a result, the area has been a protected natural monument since 1938 and is also a designated Natura 2000 region. On the north side of the granite rock face is a memorial tablet to Arthur Münch, who held the post of gamekeeper and forest manager for decades.

The Hoher Stein is a rock formation at the northeastern foot of the Bergkopf mountain, part of the Waldstein ridge in Germany's Fichtel Mountains.

Marktleuthen (German: [ˌmaʁktˈlɔɪ̯tn] ) is a municipality in the district of Wunsiedel, in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated on the river Eger, 10 km north of Wunsiedel and 11 km southwest of Selb.

The Bergkopf is an 857 metre high, thickly forested mountain in the Sparneck Forest in Germany's Fichtel Mountains. It lies in the northern chain of the Fichtel Mountain Horseshoe, near the crest of the Großer Waldstein. On its northern slopes is the granite rock formation of Kleiner Waldstein (829 m above NN), and, further north towards Sparneck, the source of the Förmitz river. To the northeast lies the granite mountain of Hoher Stein (817 m above NN) and, on its slopes, is the source of the Lamitz. To the southwest towards Weißenstadt, a monument commemorates the forester, Johann Braun, who died at that spot on 12 July 1881.

Schwarzenbach an der Saale is a town in the district of Hof, in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated on the river Saale, 11 km south of Hof. Within the town is the Gedenkstätte Langer Gang, a memorial to the Nazi victims of the Helmbrechts concentration camp, which was near Schwarzenbach an der Saale, and particularly of the victims of the death march from Helmbrechts concentration camp to Volary. After the war, Erika Fuchs, German translator of Carl Barks's comics, lived and worked in Schwarzenbach for fifty years. A museum in memory of her and her work was opened in the town in 2015, known as Erika-Fuchs-Haus. Jean Paul, a German Romantic writer, also lived in this town from 1790 to 1794. Schwarzenbach is also mentioned in of his works.

With its 827-metre-high (2,713 ft) peak the Große Kornberg is the northeast cornerstone of the Fichtel Mountains in south Germany. It forms a wooded ridge, which is recognisable from a long distance by its former military surveillance tower It is also the local 'house' mountain of Schönwald and Schwarzenbach an der Saale. Geologically, granite is the underlying rock. Its lower strata are grainy, but the upper layers contain fine-grained granite. Abandoned quarries are evidence of the ancient craft of stonemasons. The oldest known document dates to 1317 and refers to the mountain as the Kurnberg. According to Professor Dr. Adolf Gütter, in Middle High German Kurn means 'mill', so it meant 'mill mountain'. On its northwest slopes there was once a village called Mühlhausen but it had been abandoned by the end of the 14th century. The Kornberg itself lacks the imposing rock towers and felsenmeer terrain typical of other mountain peaks in the Fichtelgebirge. However, its secondary summit, the Hirschstein, has many steep, sometimes vertical, rock towers which made the location attractive to the medieval castle of the same name, of which now only a few remnants are left. Moreover, the mountain offers other attractions for the traveller: the Gypsy Rocks (Zigeunersteine) with its logan stone (Wackelstein), and the Schönburg Watchtower (Schönburgwarte) with its good views. In winter the lifts are used by skiers.

Weißenstadt is a town in the district of Wunsiedel, in Upper Franconia, Bavaria, Germany. It is situated on the shore of the picturesque Weißenstadter See (Weissenstadt Lake), in the Fichtel Mountains, on the river Ohře, 11 km northwest of Wunsiedel. The town got its name "White City" from the landmark church, once white now weathered dark grey.

The Fichtel Mountain Nature Park (German: Naturpark Fichtelgebirge) lies in the tri-border area of Saxony, the Czech Republic and Bavaria and has an area of 1,020 km2 (390 sq mi). It is maintained by the Naturpark Fichtelgebirge e. V. in Wunsiedel.

Lamitz is a river of Bavaria, Germany, whose source lies on the slopes of the Bergkopf mountain. It flows into the Saale in Fattigau.
