Rodborough Common, Surrey

Elstead Group of Commons is a 180-hectare (440-acre) nature reserve east of Elstead in Surrey. It is composed of Royal, Elstead and Ockley Commons, which are owned by the Ministry of Defence and managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust, and Bagmoor Common, which is owned and managed by the Trust. The site is part of Thursley, Hankley and Frensham Commons Special Protection Area and Site of Special Scientific Interest.This site has heath, woodland and dry acid grassland, with scrub controlled by a herd of Belted Galloway cattle. It is important for saproxylic (dead wood eating) invertebrates, such as stag beetles. There are several ponds with a population of around a thousand toads.There is public access but the site is an active military training area.

Witley Military Camp, often simplified to Camp Witley, was a temporary army camp set up on Witley Common, Surrey, England during both the First and Second World Wars. The camp was about 40 mi (64 km) southwest of London.Camp Witley was one of three facilities in the Aldershot Command area established by the Canadian Army; the others being Bordon and Bramshott (nr. Liphook). Wilfred Owen penned a prelude to his ‘Anthem for Doomed Youth’ whilst stationed at the camp.Witley Camp was the headquarters of the Polish Resettlement Corps.

Witley Common is an area of woodland and heath, close to Witley, Surrey, in the United Kingdom. It is part of a much larger Site of Special Scientific Interest. The land has been occupied since the Bronze Age — it features ancient burial mounds which have been dated to this period. It has been used as common land by many generations over the centuries — particularly for grazing, turf-cutting and, during the 16th and 17th centuries, for iron workings. Witley Common again proved useful during the First and Second World Wars when the land was used by the army as a training camp (Witley Camp) with up to 20,000 soldiers based there at one point. In the late 1940s, it was gradually restored to its pre-war condition. Today it is managed by the National Trust, to provide a mixture of habitats for wildlife, with birch, oak and pine woodland, as well as open heathland. Birdlife includes nightjars and nightingales. The area is populated by many rare species and has a broad range of both deciduous and evergreen varieties of trees. The area is a water catchment for the upper reaches of the River Wey.

Oxenford Farm is a former abbey farm, a dependency of Waverley Abbey in the civil parish of Witley, Surrey, England, with several listed buildings around a courtyard, including three by Augustus Pugin.

Milford is a village in the civil parish of Witley south west of Godalming in Surrey, England that was a small village in the early medieval period — it grew significantly after the building of the Portsmouth Direct Line which serves Godalming railway station and its own minor stop railway station. The village, served by a wide array of shops and amenities, has to one side an all-directions junction of the A3, one of Britain's trunk roads. Nearby settlements are Eashing, Shackleford, Witley and Elstead, and the hamlets of Enton and Hydestile, all of which are in the Borough of Waverley. The west of the parish is in the Surrey Hills AONB.

Rodborough School is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in Milford, Surrey, England. The school is a feeder school for Godalming College.

Witley Park, formerly known as Lea Park, is an estate dating from the late 19th century between Godalming and Haslemere in Surrey, England. Its landscaped grounds include three artificial lakes, one of which conceals an underwater conservatory and smoking room. The mansion house, rebuilt for the swindler Whitaker Wright, was gutted by fire in October 1952 and the ruins were demolished in January 1954. In the early 21st century, a new house was built on the site. At its height, under Wright's ownership at the start of the 20th century, the estate covered 9,000 acres (36 km2; 14 sq mi). Following his death in 1904, it was sold and became increasingly fragmented. Much of Hindhead Common, Witley Common and Thursley Common was bought by local residents and presented to the National Trust in December 1905.

Peper Harow is a rural village and civil parish in southwest Surrey close to the town of Godalming. It was a noted early cricket venue. Its easternmost fields are in part given up to the A3 trunk road.

Witley is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Waverley in Surrey, England centred 2.6 miles (4 km) south west of the town of Godalming and 6.6 miles (11 km) southwest of Guildford. The land is a mixture of rural (ranging from woodland protected by the Surrey Hills AONB including a small part of the forested Greensand Ridge to cultivated fields) contrasting with elements more closely resembling a suburban satellite village. As a civil parish it is unusual in that it includes the small town of Milford in the north. Occupying its hills in the south-west are Sandhills and Brook. Witley Common is a wide expanse of land, owned by the National Trust, crossed by the A3 road. The village is served by two stations on the Portsmouth Direct Line: Witley station, to the south in nearby Wormley, and, to the north, Milford station, which is more or less equidistant between Milford and Witley. Its church dates to the pre-Norman Conquest period of the Kingdom of England. The village has the private sector, but charitable co-educational boarding and day school King Edward's School founded in Westminster in 1553 by King Edward VI and bishop Nicholas Ridley – supported by the City of London Corporation.

Aaron's Hill is a suburb of Godalming in Surrey, England. It is named after the hill it sits on and has a road named after it. Aaron's Hill is adjacent to another suburb, Ockford ridge and also to Ockford Wood, it is located in the western end of Godalming and slightly further west is the village of Eashing and the A3 trunk road. Aaron's Hill is elevated 76 metres above sea level and is in the Waverley district.Aaron's Hill has a population of 338.

Ockford Ridge is the part of the parish and town of Godalming, Surrey, England west of the London-Portsmouth railway. It has a narrow buffer to the west, east of a small village, Eashing which adjoins the A3 trunk road.

Milford railway station is a railway station serving the village of Milford in the English county of Surrey. It is a stop on the Portsmouth Direct Line, 36 miles 21 chains (58.4 km) from London Waterloo. The station has two side platforms flanking a pair of tracks, with step free access to both platforms. The platforms are linked by a publicly accessible footbridge and an adjoining level crossing controlled by safety barriers. There is a ticket office, staffed during weekday mornings only, on the northbound platform, and ticket machines are available at all times the station is open. The station car park has 136 spaces.The station has the same name as the fictional station in the film Brief Encounter (1945) starring Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson, although the scenes were filmed at Carnforth station in Lancashire.
