Amory Street station is a light rail stop on the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Green Line B branch, located in the median of Commonwealth Avenue in the west part of the Boston University campus. The accessible station has two side platforms serving the line's two tracks, with access at Amory Street and St. Paul Street. Streetcar service on Commonwealth Avenue began in 1896 under the West End Street Railway. The line passed through several operators; in the 1960s, it became the Green Line B branch. Stops were located at Boston University West (Amory Street) and St. Paul Street. Planning for consolidation of the two stations into a single accessible station as part of a stop consolidation project began in 2014. Construction of Amory Street station and nearby Babcock Street station began in February 2021; they opened on November 15, 2021.

The Boston University Bridge, originally the Cottage Farm Bridge and commonly referred to as the BU Bridge, is a steel truss through arch bridge with a suspended deck carrying Route 2 over the Charles River, connecting the Boston University campus to Cambridge, Massachusetts. The bridge, with the Grand Junction Railroad Bridge directly underneath it, is incorrectly rumored to be the only place in the world where a boat can sail under a train driving under a car driving under an airplane. Other such places include the Steel Bridge in Portland, Oregon, the Manhattan Bridge in New York City and the 25 de Abril Bridge in Lisbon, although all of those bridges feature road and rail on the same span. In this case the rail and road traffic are on separate bridges.

The Boston University Fitness and Recreation Center (or FitRec) is an athletic facility at Boston University. Built in 2004–2005 to replace the aging and inadequate Case Gym, the FitRec was built on the site of a National Guard Armory, to which there is a nod in the form of an informative plaque, found just west of the building.The $97 million building opened in April 2005 as part of Boston University's John Hancock Student Village. It includes an 18,000 square feet (1,700 m2) weight and cardio room, a 1/7 mile (230 m) indoor jogging track, a climbing wall, two swimming pools, a ProShop, various gyms, racketball and squash courts, and an oft-cited lazy river.

The Grand Junction Railroad Bridge is a steel plate girder bridge carrying the Grand Junction Railroad over the Charles River in Boston, connecting the Boston University campus to Cambridgeport. In September 2009, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts finalized an agreement to purchase several CSX rail lines in eastern Massachusetts, including the Grand Junction tracks from the Beacon Park Yard in Allston, through Cambridge. The deal was closed on June 17, 2010.

Boston University Academy (BUA) is a private high school operated by Boston University. Founded in 1993 and located on the Boston University campus, the academy is geared toward college preparatory work. As part of its integration with the university, students are able to take college courses for credit their junior and senior years, and are guaranteed acceptance to Boston University upon maintaining a 3.0 grade point average in Boston University courses. BUA's student body is drawn from 55 communities: 52% come from public schools, 39% from independent schools, 7% from parochial schools and 2% are from home-school or international schools; 57% are students of color and 47% of students come from multilingual households (representing 26 languages). BUA provides need-based tuition assistance to approximately 31% of the students as of the 2019–2020 academic year.

The Ivy Street School is a school that offers multiple programs aimed at providing the skills and healing for neurodivergent youth to thrive. Through its educational, residential, and community-based programs, Ivy Street supports adolescents and young adults with disabilities by strengthening healing, deepening community, building skills and accelerating motivation for a successful adulthood. The Ivy Street School was founded in 1993 for adolescents with brain injuries and other neurological challenges. The school has since expanded its scope to serve a more diverse group of adolescents and young adults with disabilities. Ivy Street serves students between the ages of 13 and 22 with Autism Spectrum Disorder, neurological and neurodevelopmental diagnoses, learning disabilities, and mental health diagnoses. The school is located in Brookline, Massachusetts in a residential neighborhood a few miles from downtown Boston. Residential programs are located in Brookline, Massachusetts, as well. Skills for Life programming is home and community based.

Magazine Beach is an American riverside park in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is located on the left bank of the Charles River, across Memorial Drive from Cambridgeport, and opposite Agganis Arena and other Boston University facilities on the far bank. Magazine Beach is Cambridge's second largest park, being about 15 acres (6.1 ha) stretching along the river from Pleasant Street to the BU Bridge. The park includes a free outdoor swimming pool (Veteran's Memorial Pool) as well as ball fields, exercise equipment, picnic areas, and other typical urban park features. The Paul Dudley White Bike Path runs through the park. The park's namesake, a gunpowder magazine from 1818, is in the park. It is the oldest building in the Charles River Reservation. There was a swimming beach at the park in the early and mid 20th century, attracting about 60,000 swimmers in a season, but swimming in the Charles River became dangerous due to pollution, and was forbidden in 1949.

The Cottage Farm Historic District is a residential area in eastern Brookline, Massachusetts, known for its association with industrialist Amos Adams Lawrence (1814–1886). Laid out in the 1850s and centered around the junction of Essex and Ivy Streets, it features high-quality housing on large lots, built between the 1850s and 1910s. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Agganis Arena is a 7,200-seat multi-purpose arena in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, on the campus of Boston University, built on the location of the former Commonwealth Armory. It is home to the five-time national champion Boston University Terriers men's ice hockey team. It is named after Harry Agganis, an outstanding football and baseball athlete for BU and the Boston Red Sox, who died at the age of 26 from a massive pulmonary embolism. A life-size bronze statue of Agganis sculpted by Armand LaMontagne stands outside the arena at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Harry Agganis Way. The hockey rink is named Jack Parker Rink, after the legendary BU hockey player and coach. The arena is part of Boston University's John Hancock Student Village, which also includes dormitories and the university's five-story Fitness and Recreation Center. Agganis was dedicated in 2004 and hosted its first event in 2005. It replaced Walter Brown Arena, located at the Case Athletic Center, as the home of BU Men's Ice Hockey, though Walter Brown Arena is still in use as the home of BU Women's Ice Hockey. In the arena's first decade, Boston University basketball played select home games at Agganis, with the remainder being played at Case Gym. The school made the decision before the 2015-2016 season to move all home games back to Case Gym due to poor attendance at Agganis. The last BU basketball game played at Agganis was a 77-70 loss to rival Holy Cross on Feb. 28, 2015. It serves as a regional auditorium for large events, including concerts, ceremonies of other schools such as Berklee College of Music, musicals, awareness events, and appearances by speakers such as Barack Obama and Dave Chappelle. Since 2008, Agganis has hosted the annual CRASH-B World Indoor Rowing Championship.

The Commonwealth Armory was a Massachusetts Army National Guard armory. It was built at the intersection of Harry Agganis Way and Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, Massachusetts in 1914-1915 for Troops A, B, C, and D of the First Squadron Cavalry, Battery A of the Massachusetts Field Artillery, the Field Hospital Corps, Ambulance Corps, and the Signal Corps. It was designed by Boston architect James E. McLaughlin, who also designed Fenway Park, the Benedict Fenwick School in Boston, and the Hudson Armory in Hudson, Massachusetts. During its life, it was home to military units, the Boston Auto Show, a concert by The Who in October 1969, and anti-war demonstrations. It was demolished in 2002 and replaced by the Agganis Arena in 2004.

The George Sherman Union (GSU) is the student union building at Boston University and Boston University Academy. The Brutalist-styled building opened in Spring 1963. When it opened, the Union had a 10-lane bowling alley in its basement. The building is named for the Boston industrialist, philanthropist, and Boston University benefactor. The Union was modeled after similar student centers in Midwestern universities. Inside are many of Boston University's administrative offices, a nine-restaurant food court, two bank branches, several auditoriums and other open space, as well as the BU Scarlet Safewalk service. The GSU abuts Mugar Memorial Library, the school's main library. Students come to the GSU to organize events, gather and exchange information, and meet people. It provides an atmosphere for study and conversation. As the community center of Boston University, it provides cultural, social, and recreational programs that supplement regular classroom education. The facilities of the George Sherman Union are reserved for the exclusive use of students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Boston University. The GSU was one of many buildings benefitting from renovations during the summer of 2010. The Union Hall food court and study lounges were later renovated again, completing in August 2020. The East Campus Boiler Plant, which heats and cools the GSU was converted from oil to natural gas, reducing the University's carbon footprint by 3%. More wireless access points were added, as well as compost and recycling receptacles to encourage the university's dedication to become more green.

The Cambridge Assembly was a Ford Motor Company factory in Cambridge, Massachusetts which opened in 1913. The factory had the first vertically-integrated assembly line in the world. It was replaced in 1926 by the Somerville Assembly. The plant was later reused by Polaroid Corporation, and is now owned by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
