Gernsheim

Lauter (in its lower course: Winkelbach) is a river of Hesse, Germany. Its source is in the Odenwald near Gadernheim. It passes through Bensheim and flows into the Rhine in Gernsheim.

The Modau is a 44-kilometre-long (27 mi) right tributary of the river Rhine running through the German state of Hesse. Historically, there have been many watermills on the river and its tributaries, giving rise to the name Mühltal ("Mill Valley"), a district through which the river flows. It passes through Ober-Ramstadt and Pfungstadt, and flows into a branch of the Rhine in Stockstadt am Rhein.

Stockstadt am Rhein is a municipality in Groß-Gerau district in Hesse, Germany, lying on the southern edge of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main Region.

Biblis station is the only station of the town of Biblis in the German state of Hesse. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station. The station is located on the Mannheim–Frankfurt railway, where the Worms–Biblis railway branches off to Worms. Both lines developed from the Riedbahn (Ried Railway).

Biblis Airfield is an abandoned World War II military airfield located in Germany, approximately 5 miles northeast of Worms (Rheinland-Pfalz); approximately 300 miles southwest of Berlin. Bibliser Airfield was built by the United States Army Air Forces at the site of a Wehrmacht Army Barracks (Biblis Kaserne). It was also the first USAAF airfield to be built in support of Seventh Army operations east of the Rhine River after two divisions crossed the river near Worms on 26 March 1945. It was a vital airfield used in the encirclement of the Ruhr Pocket during the Western Allied invasion of Germany, in which more than 300,000 German troops were taken prisoner After being closed in July 1945, the facility was abandoned. Today it is the site of a sports complex to the south of Biblis.

The Biblis Nuclear Power Plant is in the South Hessian municipality of Biblis and consists of two units: unit A with a gross output of 1200 megawatts and unit B with a gross output of 1300 megawatts. Both units are pressurized water reactors. The operator of this power plant is the German RWE Power AG, an electrical utility based in Essen. Unit A began operation on July 16, 1974, and entered commercial service on August 25, 1974; unit B reached criticality on March 25, 1976. Both units now are shut down definitely for political reasons (Atomausstieg). Biblis is the partner power station of the Balakovo Nuclear Power Plant.

The Weschnitz is a 59.4-kilometre-long (36.9 mi) right tributary of the Rhine running through the German states of Hesse and Baden-Württemberg. The name of the river traces to the Celtic god Visucius, who was worshiped in the region. The river source is in the Odenwald, in the town of Grasellenbach. It then flows in a westerly direction through a number of communities, including Fürth, Rimbach, Mörlenbach and Birkenau. At Weinheim, the river splits into two branches as it enters the Upper Rhine Plain. The two courses join at Lorsch. It then flows through the communities of Einhausen and Biblis before emptying into the Rhine at the Biblis Nuclear Power Plant.

Riedstadt-Goddelau station, along with Riedstadt Wolfskehlen station, serves the town of Riedstadt in the south of the German state of Hesse on the Mannheim–Frankfurt railway and the Darmstadt–Worms railway. The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station. It is served by local and S-Bahn trains.
