Fair Grounds Field was a baseball stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana, located next to Independence Stadium on the Louisiana State Fair Grounds just off Interstate 20. Fair Grounds Field opened in 1986 and underwent renovations in 1999, 2009, and 2011. The stadium has a seating capacity of 4,200 people. Fair Grounds Field currently does not have a primary tenant. In the past it has most notably served as the home field of the Shreveport Captains, Shreveport Swamp Dragons, Shreveport-Bossier Sports, and Shreveport-Bossier Captains minor league and independent baseball teams. Fair Grounds Field hosted the 1986 and 1995 Texas League All-Star Games; 1995 Double-A All-Star Game; 1995, 1996, and 1998 Southland Conference baseball tournament; 2004 Summit League baseball tournament; and 2011 Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball tournament. Fair Grounds Field has hosted many college baseball teams including LSU, Louisiana Tech, Northwestern State, Centenary, and LSU–Shreveport. The facility has also been used by local high school baseball teams. In 2019, there was a $1 million bond issue, however local voters didn't support it, and as of late, there are no plans from the city of Shreveport on what the future of the property will look like. A YouTube video of the current state of the property, uploaded by Chavez Gipson on January 21, 2020, shows that feral cats have made their home, but rumors suggest that bats have also made their home in the stadium.The bats have been professionally removed. The City of Shreveport will be demolishing the baseball stadium. Their plans are to expand the parking lot.

Hirsch Memorial Coliseum is 10,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Shreveport, Louisiana, designed by the late local architect Edward F. Neild Jr. (1908–1958) who, with his father in 1937, had designed the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum in Shreveport. The coliseum is named after William Rex Hirsch, a former fair president, manager and treasurer. The building completed construction in 1954, the year of Hirsch's death, and initially was planned to have the name The Youth Building. The coliseum has been used for a variety of events through the years, with dirt being brought in and placed on the floor for rodeos and tractor pulls. It is located adjacent to the Independence Stadium and across from Fair Park High School in Shreveport. Hirsch coliseum is very similar in design, though smaller in size to the John M. Parker Agricultural Coliseum (completed in 1937 and designed by Neild, Sr), owned and operated by the Louisiana State University Campus in Baton Rouge. However, the Parker coliseum has a dirt floor arena and is mainly used for livestock-type events, with portable hard floors laid on top of the dirt for other types of events such as basketball games or concerts.

Fair Park Middle School is a former high school located at 3222 Greenwood Road in Shreveport, Louisiana, United States. The school was originally named Fair Park High School when it opened in 1928, and it was the second high school in the city. C.E. Byrd High School had opened three years earlier in 1925. The institution was also previously named Fair Park College Preparatory High School or Fair Park College Prep Academy, and additionally had been named Fair Park Medical Careers Magnet High School.

WKSH-LP (97.7 FM) is a radio station licensed to Shreveport, Louisiana, United States. The station is currently owned by Amore Entertainment Radio.

Independence Stadium is a stadium owned by the city of Shreveport, Louisiana and is the home of the Independence Bowl. Formerly known as State Fair Stadium and Fairgrounds Stadium, it is the site of the annual Independence Bowl post-season college football game, initially (1976) the Bicentennial Bowl. Before that, it was the home venue of the Shreveport Steamer of the short-lived World Football League (1974–75). It also served as a neutral site for the annual Arkansas–LSU football rivalry from 1924 to 1936. The 1924 game featured a silver football trophy as part of the dedication ceremonies for the new stadium.The stadium is also host to numerous high school football games and soccer matches, since many schools in Shreveport lack an on-campus facility. Independence Stadium also hosted the LHSAA state football championship games in 2005 after the Louisiana Superdome suffered heavy damage from Hurricane Katrina. From 1978 to 1983, Independence Stadium was home to the city's two teams in the American Football Association, the Shreveport Steamer (with naming rights purchased from the defunct WFL team) and the Shreveport Americans. It hosted the AFA's first championship game, 1978's American Bowl I, which the Steamer won 17–14 over the San Antonio Charros.In 1994–95, Independence Stadium was home to the Shreveport Pirates of the Canadian Football League, which was attempting U.S. expansion at the time. In 2001, Independence Stadium hosted the inaugural year of the annual Port City Classic—an NCAA college football competition featuring Southern University of Baton Rouge—in an effort to revive the old State Fair Classic game. The classic spun-off separately from the fair the following year and became an early September game. Eventually it also hosted a contest between Louisiana Tech University of Ruston and Grambling State University of Grambling. Independence Stadium was considered as a possible playing site for the New Orleans Saints during the 2005 NFL season due to Hurricane Katrina, but Shreveport eventually lost out to the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, and Louisiana State University's Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. However, Independence Stadium eventually was chosen to host the Saints' first preseason home game for the 2006 season while the Louisiana Superdome prepared for its grand re-opening. Field Turf was installed as the stadium's playing surface in 2010. It had been natural grass before that from the opening of the stadium. In 2010, a Texas University Interscholastic League playoff game was played featuring Mesquite Horn high school and the technical host Longview. Longview won, 28–14. The first time Texas teams met in Louisiana for a playoff game was in 2006 when Texas High School from Texarkana topped Dallas Highland Park with quarterback Ryan Mallett. That game also was hosted at Independence Stadium. The stadium also hosts concerts and other events. The south end zone of the stadium borders Interstate 20.

Huey P. Long House was a historic house located at 2403 Laurel Street in Shreveport, Louisiana. It was built in c.1905. and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.The house was destroyed by fire in September 1992, and was delisted on May 2, 2016.

Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Shreveport (LSU Health Shreveport) is a public university focused on the health sciences and located in Shreveport, Louisiana. It is part of the LSU System and is composed of three different schools: the School of Medicine, School of Graduate Studies, and School of Allied Health Professions. The School of Medicine offers the Doctor of Medicine degree, while both the Schools of Graduate Studies and Allied Health offer Bachelor's degrees, Master's degrees, and Doctorate degrees. The Ochsner-LSU Health Hospital also offers 18 residency programs and 15 fellowships.

KQHN (97.3 FM, "Q97.3") is a hot adult contemporary radio station licensed to Waskom, Texas, and serves the greater Shreveport, Louisiana area. The station is owned by Cumulus Media and broadcasts from the Louisiana Boardwalk shopping center in Bossier City, Louisiana, along with sister stations KRMD, KRMD-FM, KMJJ, and KVMA-FM. The station was assigned the KQHN call letters by the Federal Communications Commission on April 7, 2005.

KMJJ-FM (99.7 MHz, "99.7 KMJJ") is an American radio station with an urban contemporary format broadcasting in the Shreveport-Bossier City Metropolitan Area. The station is owned by Cumulus Media and is headquartered at the Louisiana Boardwalk shopping center in Bossier City, Louisiana. The station's transmitter is southwest of the I-20/I-49 interchange in Shreveport, on a landmark non-supported structure nicknamed Eiffel Tower. It is co-located with KVMA-FM and KQHN-FM with the KRMD-FM auxiliary transmitter.

KVMA-FM (102.9 MHz, "Magic 102.9") is an urban adult contemporary formatted radio station licensed to Shreveport, Louisiana, United States, and serving the Shreveport-Bossier City Metropolitan Area. The station is owned by Cumulus Media and based at the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City. KVMA-FM was purchased in 2004 from Magnolia, Arkansas and relocated to the Shreveport Market on 107.9 MHz with Cumulus Broadcasting. In 2005, a short discussion between the FCC, Barksdale Air Force Base and Cumulus Broadcasting over the interference of 107.9 and the B52 Aircraft, the FCC shut down the 107.9 frequency forever in the Shreveport/Bossier area. Cumulus Broadcasting shutdown KVMA-FM and relocated its format to 102.9 one evening and temporarily shutdown KBED-FM (Mix 102.9 FM). KVMA-FM picked up the syndication rights to the Dede In The Morning It is also the home of The D.L. Hughley Show in the afternoons, and The Sweat Hotel at nights. KBED-FM is now KQHN-FM and was relicensed to 97.3 and serves the Ark-La-Tex area. KVMA-FM transmitter facilities are located near Downtown Shreveport on a Landmark non supported structure nicknamed Eiffel Tower. It is co-located with KMJJ-FM and KQHN-FM with the KRMD-FM auxiliary transmitter.

Booker T. Washington New Technology High School is a high school in Shreveport, Louisiana, United States named after the educational pioneer Booker T. Washington. Caddo Parish Public Schools operates the school.

Mall St. Vincent is an enclosed shopping mall located off Interstate 49 at 1133 St. Vincent Avenue in Shreveport, Louisiana. It opened in February 1977 on the 100-acre site of the original St. Vincent's Academy, a Catholic girls' school built by the Daughters of the Cross, from which it gets its name. The mall's main anchor store is Dillard's. The Sears anchor store closed in 2018.In 2014, the city government voted for a tax-payer funded proposal of $16.5 million US into Mall St Vincent, but the long-term fate of the retail mall remains in doubt. An outdoor fountain included in the remodeling project was by 2017 crumbling and without water, with plants surrounding the structure having died. In 2017, Grimaldi's Pizzeria and Gymboree closed their Mall St. Vincent operations; a local news article noted that online shopping and changing consumer habits have affected shopping malls; with as many as one in four closing within the next five years. On June 6, 2018, it was announced that Sears would be closing in September 2018. After declaring bankruptcy, New York & Co. closed all stores including its Mall St. Vincent storefront in 2020, while Auntie Anne's closed its doors in 2021.
