The high school portion is the first to open in the city of Lauderhill.It mostly serves Lauderhill, but also accepts a small portion of Lauderdale Lakes. While the high school is not automatically zoned, people in Lauderhill have priority for admission to the high school.Lauderhill 6–12 STEM-MED typically accepts graduates of feeders schools: Castle Hill Elementary, Endeavour Primary Learning Center, Lauderhill Paul Turner Elementary, Plantation Elementary School, and Royal Palm Elementary.

The Plantation Towne Mall was an enclosed shopping mall in Plantation, Florida, which was destroyed by a fire on September 6, 1996. The shopping mall originally opened in 1968 as an open-air shopping plaza with a Publix Supermarket on its west end, and a Rite Aid Drug Store (vacant space during the fire) and movie theater (called Towne Theatre, but later Art Towne Twin until closing) on its east. In 1971, the center was enclosed by a metal roof, while original roofing was not removed. By 1991, the mall had undergone both interior and exterior renovations, converting the vacant theater space into offices, and cladding the exterior in stucco with mansard mall entryways. One of the major reasons why the fire was able to spread so quickly, and had been so difficult to extinguish was because flames were able to seep in between the roofs. In addition to this, the mall wasn't equipped with a sprinkler system. The shopping mall was rebuilt as Plantation Towne Square, a strip mall anchored by a new Publix store.

Plantation Walk is a mixed-use complex in Plantation, Florida, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale. The complex includes the office tower, hotel and parking decks from the demolished Fashion Mall, a three-level shopping mall that opened in 1988 and closed in December 2006 following hurricane damage.

Inverrary Country Club was a 36-hole private golf club located in Lauderhill, Florida, northwest of Fort Lauderdale. Founded 54 years ago in 1970, both 18-hole courses were designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. The course has been shut down since 2020.

The 1976 Tournament Players Championship was a golf tournament in Florida on the PGA Tour, held February 26 to March 1 at Inverrary Country Club in Lauderhill, northwest of Fort Lauderdale. This was the third Tournament Players Championship; Jack Nicklaus won his second title, three strokes ahead of runner-up J. C. Snead, similar to his 1974 win. Saturday was washed out by a thunderstorm; the third round was on Sunday and the final round on Monday.Defending champion Al Geiberger finished fifteen strokes back, in a tie for 24th place. The first two editions had been played in late summer, after the major championships; this year's began in late February.

The Phar-Mor at Inverrary was a women's professional golf tournament in Florida on the LPGA Tour, held from 1990 through 1992. The 54-hole event was played in February at the Inverrary Country Club in Lauderhill, northwest of Fort Lauderdale. It was sponsored by Phar-Mor, an Ohio-based chain of discount drug stores, which also sponsored the Phar-Mor in Youngstown. Cancer survivor Shelley Hamlin, age 42, shot 66 (−6) on Sunday to win the final event by a stroke over three runners-up; it broke her 14-year victory drought on tour.Inverrary previously hosted the Jackie Gleason-Inverrary Classic on the PGA Tour (1972–1983), and the Tournament Players Championship in 1976.

Island SPACE Caribbean Museum is the first and only brick and mortar pan-Caribbean heritage museum in the United States. Currently located at the Broward Mall in Plantation, Florida, the facility opened its doors in November 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is operated by the Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Island Society for the Promotion of Artistic and Cultural Education or Island SPACE.

WKPX (88.5 FM) is the non-commercial, educational radio station owned and operated by the Broward County Public Schools (BCPS), broadcasting at 3,000 watts and reaching all of Broward County. In mid-2020, production studios were relocated from Piper High School, where the station had operated for many years, to BECON's production facility in Davie. This move is a first step in a plan to create internship opportunities for students throughout BCPS to get training and practical experience in radio as well as television and video production. Through an agreement between BECON and Nova Southeastern University (NSU), the evening hours on WKPX (6:00pm to midnight) are dedicated to Radio X, and music programs hosted by NSU media students.
