Alderford Common

Attlebridge railway station is a closed station in Norfolk, England. It served the small village of Attlebridge. It was constructed by the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway in the 1880s on the line between Melton Constable and Norwich City. The line closed to passengers in 1959. The former station site, on Station Road, is now a B&B, caravan site and furniture joinery.

Alderford is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, about ten miles (16 km) north-west of Norwich. The name 'Alderford' derives from the Old English meaning 'alder-tree ford'.The civil parish has an area of 1.80 square kilometres and in 2001 had a population of 43 in 16 households. At the 2011 Census the population remained less than 100 and is included in the civil parish of Swannington. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the area of the district of Broadland.[1]

Broadland is a Norfolk constituency, which has been represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since the 2019 general election by Jerome Mayhew, a Conservative.Under the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the constituency will only be subject to minor boundary changes, but is to be renamed Broadland and Fakenham - to be first contested at the next general election.

For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of Broadland.The mediaeval parish church of St Andrew is a grade II* listed building.

Swannington is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, United Kingdom. The villages name means 'Farm/settlement connected with Swan'.

Morton on the Hill is a small but scattered village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, about 8 miles (13 km) north-west of Norwich. The parish covers an area of 4.09 km2 (1.58 sq mi) and had a population of 85 in 34 households at the 2001 census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of Broadland. The village's name means 'Moor farm/settlement'. Its church, St Margaret, is one of 124 existing round-tower churches in Norfolk. The round tower is partly in ruins.

Little Witchingham is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 3.01 km2 (1.16 sq mi) and had a population of 36 in 14 households at the 2001 census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of Broadland. St Faith's Church (right) is now redundant.

Guton was a settlement in the county of Norfolk in England mentioned in the Domesday Book as Guthetuna. It is described as being held by Osbert from Tihel le Breton. It had a mill and 14 beehives. It was considered a small town with 40 households (which at the time of the survey was a large settlement). Lestan, a freeman, was deprived of it on the Norman conquest. In the 13th century the family of Peche had an interest in this town, and Sir Andrew de Helion, of Bumpstead, in Essex, certified the venerable barons of the Exchequer, on the marriage of the King's sister, to the Emperour Germany, about 1234, that Symon Peche held 3 parts of a fee of him in Gukenton Norfolk.Guton was granted a charter from the Crown licensing the holding of a market in 1287, though by the 17th century the market was out of use.The site of the settlement is marked by Guton Hall in the modern civil parish of Brandiston. The village of Brandiston is not mentioned in the Domesday Book, but gradually eclipsed Guton; both settlements are mentioned with equal billing in The History of Norfolk, edited by John Chambers 1829, as follows: "Brandiston and Guton. Nine miles from Norwich. Church St. Nicholas. Was held by the families of Fastolf and Paston." However in White's more detailed History, Gazetteer and Directory of Norfolk published in 1845, the parish is still referred to as Brandiston and Guton but the main heading had become Brandiston.

St Faith's Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Little Witchingham in Norfolk, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. It stands in a relatively isolated position in country lanes, about 9 miles (14 km) northwest of Norwich and 3 miles (5 km) south of Reepham. It is notable for its sequence of medieval wall paintings.

The River Ainse (or Eyn) is a small river in the county of Norfolk. It is a tributary of the River Wensum which it merges with at Lenwade. The River Ainse has several tributaries also.

Swannington Upgate Common is a 20.5-hectare (51-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-west of Norwich in Norfolk.This site has varied habitats including glacial sands and gravels, peat, dry and wet heath, woodland, grassland, ponds and a stream. There is a wide range of breeding birds.The site is open to the public.

Weston Longville is a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, approximately 8 miles (13 km) north-west of Norwich. Its name is derived from the Manor of Longaville in Normandy, France, which owned the local land in the 12th century. It covers an area of 11.24 km2 (4.34 sq mi) and had a population of 303 in 127 households at the 2001 census, increasing to a population of 339 in 144 households at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of Broadland.
