Stormont Vail Health is an extensive medical facility in the city of Topeka, Kansas. The facility provides a nonprofit hospital and integrated health care system for Shawnee County and the northeast Kansas region. The name derives from two earlier Topeka facilities, the Jane C. Stormont Women's Hospital and Training School for Nurses and Christ's Hospital (founded by Bishop Thomas Vail), both established in the 19th century. These two hospitals were combined in 1949 to form the Stormont–Vail Regional Medical Center. When the regional center merged with the Cotton–O'Neill Clinic in 1996, the governing foundation adopted the new name Stormont–Vail HealthCare, and this was shortened in 2016 to Stormont Vail Health.

The Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library is a public library located in Topeka, Kansas, United States. It serves all of Shawnee County, Kansas with the exception of the Rossville, Kansas and Silver Lake, Kansas townships. The Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library is a municipal taxing district authorized by Kansas law. It is governed by a board of trustees consisting of ten members. The library offers many services to the public including senior/homebound delivery, work and home delivery, bookmobile services, curbside pickup, public computers, meeting rooms, extensive programming, the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery and the Millennium Cafe.

The Chester B. Woodward House is a historic house in Topeka, Kansas. It was built in 1923 for Chester B. Woodward, a businessman. Woodward served as the vice president of the Central National Bank and Trust Company of Topeka from 1920 to 1928 and the president of the Topeka Morris Plan Company from 1928 to 1940.The house was designed by Root & Siemens in the Classical Revival architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since June 25, 1992.

University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus (KU Topeka), formerly known as St. Francis Health Center is a for-profit hospital and branch of the University of Kansas Medical School in Topeka, Kansas, United States. The hospital was founded in 1909 by the Catholic organization Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth. On May 4, 2017, a press conference announced that The University of Kansas Hospital would take over operations of the hospital from SCL Health, in a partnership with Ardent Health. The purchase was finalized on November 1, 2017.

Topeka High School (THS) is a public secondary school in Topeka, Kansas, United States. It serves students in grades 9 to 12, and is one of five high schools operated by the Topeka USD 501 school district. In the 2010–2011 school year, there were 1,840 students enrolled.Topeka High School was established in 1871, and moved to its current location in 1931. At the time, it was among the first million dollar high schools west of the Mississippi River. Topeka High offers a variety of sports and extracurricular activities, and notable alumni include Charles Curtis, 31st Vice President of the United States.

Cair Paravel Latin School (often referred to as CPLS or just Cair Paravel) is a private, coeducational, non-profit, non-denominational Christian school located in Topeka, Kansas, United States. The school was founded in 1980, making it one of the first classical Christian schools. With over 400 students, Cair Paravel is the largest school in Kansas offering a Classical Christian education. Cair Paravel is a member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools.

The Westminster Presbyterian Church in Topeka, Kansas was built during 1924 to 1926. It was designed by architect Charles Cuthbert in Late Gothic Revival architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.Its NRHP nomination describes: "As with most Late Gothic Revival structures, Westminster's design is quieter, smoother, less ornate and "top heavy" than that of the high Victorian Gothic period. There is little tracery and ornamentation is kept to a minimum."

It is along the Kansas River in the central part of Shawnee County, in northeast Kansas, in the Central United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 126,587. The Topeka metropolitan statistical area, which includes Shawnee, Jackson, Jefferson, Osage, and Wabaunsee Counties, had a population of 233,870 in the 2010 census. The city, laid out in 1854, was one of the Free-State towns founded by Eastern antislavery men immediately after the passage of the Kansas–Nebraska Bill. In 1857, Topeka was chartered as a city. The city is well known for the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, which overturned Plessy v. Ferguson and declared racial segregation in public schools to be unconstitutional.

Potwin Place Historic District (known locally as Potwin) is a neighborhood of Topeka, Kansas. The neighborhood is well known for its brick-lined streets and variety of Victorian and Queen Anne style homes. It is bounded by SW Willow Ave (south), SW Woodlawn Ave (west), NW Grove Ave (north) and SE Greenwood Ave (east).
