Roma Tre University (Italian: Università degli Studi Roma Tre) is an Italian public research university in Rome, Italy, with its main campus in the Ostiense quarter. Founded in 1992 by the Ministry of Public Education, under the request of several professors of the Sapienza University of Rome, it was the third public university to be established in the metropolitan area of Rome. It is the second-largest university of Rome by enrollment and one of the largest research-based institutions in the country.

Garbatella is an urban zone of Rome. It belongs to the Municipio VIII (ex-Municipio XI) of Rome comune, Italy, in the Ostiense quarter of Rome. Its population counts nearly 45,000.

Ostiense is the 10th quartiere of Rome, identified by the initials Q. X. The toponym comes from the original name of the Porta San Paolo, a gate in the city walls of Rome, was Porta Ostiensis, because it was located at the beginning of Via Ostiense. It now houses the Via Ostiense Museum.

Garbatella is a station on the Line B of the Rome Metro. It was opened in 1990 and is located behind the former Mercati Generali di Roma, on the via Ostiense in the Ostiense quarter. It replaces the old Garbatella station 200m away, whose entrance was on Piazza Giancarlo Vallauri (the present one is accessed from Via Giacinto Pullino).

San Francesco Saverio alla Garbatella is a 20th-century parochial church and titular church in southern Rome, dedicated to Francis Xavier.

The Papal Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls (Italian: Basilica Papale di San Paolo fuori le Mura) is one of Rome's four major papal basilicas, along with the basilicas of Saint John in the Lateran, Saint Peter's, and Saint Mary Major, as well as one of the Seven Pilgrim Churches of Rome. The Basilica is within Italian territory, but the Holy See owns the Basilica in a regime of extraterritoriality, with Italy recognizing its full ownership and conceding it "the immunity granted by international law to the headquarters of the diplomatic agents of foreign States".James Michael Cardinal Harvey was named Archpriest of the basilica in 2012.

Basilica San Paolo is a station on the Line B of the Rome Metro. It was opened in 1955 and is located at the intersection between Viale Giustiniano Imperatore and Via Gaspare Gozzi, behind the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls (after which it is named) in the Ostiense quarter. It is also one of three Metro stations also served by the Rome-Lido railway line. Before reaching the station the line, in the Porta San Paolo direction, runs through a 230m gorge excavated in the 1920s from the "Roccia di San Paolo" to avoid interfering with the landscape, rather than the original plan which ran the line around the "roccia" but ran it right alongside the basilica.

The Foundation audiovisual archive of the labor and democratic movement (AAMOD)is a foundation born in Italy in the late 1970s with the aim of researching, collecting, storing historical audiovisual documents, repertory, current affairs and narrative reconstruction. It works in the field of audiovisuals (cinema, TV, multimedia) to promote the construction of a collective memory of social movements and their protagonists. The foundation organizes research activities and sets up exhibitions on topics related to history and society, curating specialized publications. Its headquarters are in Rome. The first president of the Foundation was Cesare Zavattini who held this role until his death in 1989. The audiovisual archive of the labor and democratic movement was founded in 1979 as an association, with the name of the Historical Audiovisual Archive of the workers' movement (ASAMO), and inherits the film heritage of the PCI and Unitelefilm - film production company, linked to the PCI. In 1983 the archive's heritage was declared of considerable historical interest by the Archives Superintendent for Lazio. It is the first Italian audiovisual archive, which thanks to the consistency and importance of its heritage, receives this notification. In 1985 the Archive was recognized as a foundation, for the need to better protect its heritage: the archive therefore takes on the current name: Audiovisual Archive Foundation of the workers' and democratic movement (AAMOD).

The Basilica di Santa Maria Regina degli Apostoli alla Montagnola, entrusted to the care of the Society of St. Paul (Paolini), is located in Via Antonino Pio, in the Ostiense quarter of the city of Rome, Italy.

The Almone (Latin: Almo) is a small river of the Ager Romanus, a few miles south of the city of Rome. Today the river is polluted and is channelled to a sewage treatment plant and no longer reaches its natural confluence with the Tiber.

The Santa Galla church is a place of Catholic worship in Rome located in the Ostiense district, in via Circonvallazione Ostiense.

The Regia Marina Radiotelegraphic Station, better known as Radio San Paolo, was a long, medium and short wave Italian military broadcaster and military reception center located on the southern outskirts of Rome. Inaugurated in 1917 under the command of Regia Marina, the station remained in Navy service for much of the Second World war and then lost its importance until the disposal and transformation of its premises into civilian flats.
