Christ Church, Bong Bong

Bong Bong was a small township in Wingecarribee Shire, New South Wales, Australia. It is also the name for the surrounding parish. It is within the Southern Highlands. The site was chosen by Governor Lachlan Macquarie in 1820 close to the ford on the Wingecarribee River. In 1821 it was laid out and there is an obelisk on the site stating "Site of Bong Bong Military Station and First Township Reserve on the Southern Highlands - surveyed 1821". A post office was established in 1829 which operated until 1867 when, with the combination of the realignment of the Great Southern Road (now the Hume Highway) and the railway going to the neighbouring town of Moss Vale, Bong Bong declined. All that remains now is the Church, called Christ Church. In the Christ Church cemetery is buried the Australian explorer Joseph Wild.

The Cecil Hoskins Nature Reserve is a protected nature reserve located in the Southern Highlands area of New South Wales, Australia. The 46-hectare (110-acre) reserve is situated between the towns of Bowral and Moss Vale and is known for bird watching.

Throsby Park is a heritage-listed homestead at Church Road, Moss Vale, Wingecarribee Shire, New South Wales, Australia. It was built from 1820 to 1836. The property is owned by the Historic Houses Trust of New South Wales, but is leased to banker Tim Throsby of Barclays, a descendant of the original owners. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Moss Vale is a town in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia. Moss Vale is the administrative centre of Wingecarribee Shire local government area. It is located 142 kilometres (88 mi) south-west of Sydney and 159 kilometres (99 mi) north-east of Canberra. The Illawarra Highway, which connects to Wollongong and the Illawarra coast via Macquarie Pass. Moss Vale has several heritage buildings. In the centre of the main street is Leighton Gardens. Moss Vale has undergone recent (2019) gentrification. It has become a hub for independent and creative businesses, including design stores, cafes, and bars. The town has a commercial district and a golf course, including a large parkland, Cecil Hoskins Nature Reserve.

Moss Vale High School is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in Moss Vale, a town in the Southern Highlands region of New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1963, the school enrolled approximately 650 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12; six percent identified as Indigenous Australians and six percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education; the principal is Patricia Holmes, and deputy principals are Matthew Carlyon and Helen Campbell.

Moss Vale railway station is a heritage-listed railway station on the Main Southern line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the town of Moss Vale, opening on 2 December 1867. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

The Argyle Street railway bridge is a heritage-listed railway bridge on the Main Southern railway line (146.037 km) at Moss Vale in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia. It was designed and built by the New South Wales Government Railways in 1914 with steel supplied by Dorman Long of Middlesbrough, England. The property is owned by Transport Asset Holding Entity, an agency of the Government of New South Wales. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

St. Paul's International College caters to Australian and overseas students from Year 7 to Year 12 and University Foundation Studies, with the majority of students coming from Asian countries.

The Moss Vale Ladies Classic was a women's professional golf tournament on the WPGA Tour of Australasia held in Moss Vale in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia.

Tudor House School is a private, day and boarding, preparatory school for boys and girls at Moss Vale, New South Wales, Australia. The school is Australia's only preparatory boarding school. It became co-educational in 2017. Tudor House has a non-selective enrolment policy and currently caters for boys and girls from Kindergarten to year 6, with boarding available for boys and girls in years 3–6. It is part of The King's School, Parramatta, New South Wales.

Burradoo ( BURR-ə-doo) is a suburb of Bowral, in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia, in Wingecarribee Shire. The village of Burradoo is well known as an expensive area in the Southern Highlands (among other residential areas including Mount Gibraltar, Knotts Hill, Central Bowral, Kangaloon and East Kangaloon). This is because Burradoo is home to many historic manor houses and large modern architectural homes on small acreages. Often Burradoo is compared to parts of England largely reflected in the architecture & gardens. Burradoo comes from an Aboriginal phrase meaning many brigalow trees.
