Delwijnen

Bommelerwaard is a district in Gelderland, Netherlands. The Bommelerwaard is situated among three rivers: the Meuse (Dutch: Maas) in the south(east), the Waal in the north and the Afgedamde Maas in the west. It is formed by the area of two municipalities: Zaltbommel and Maasdriel.

Nederhemert is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Zaltbommel, and lies about 8 km southwest of that city. Nederhemert was a separate municipality until 1955, when it was merged with Kerkwijk.Nederhemert consists of two parts. The largest part is Nederhemert-Noord. The smaller village of Nederhemert-Zuid, with only about 25 inhabitants, lies south of the Afgedamde Maas.

Well is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 9 km northwest of 's-Hertogenbosch.

Bern (formerly sometimes "Beern", "Berne", or "Beerne") is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Zaltbommel, about 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) south of the town Zaltbommel.Bern used to lie south of the river Meuse, in the municipality of Herpt en Bern. The river was dammed close to Bern around 1900 (see Afgedamde Maas), and a new channel was dug south of the village, the Bergsche Maas. In 1958, the administrative borders were changed to account for this new situation, and Bern moved from the province of North Brabant to Gelderland, and to the municipality of Kerkwijk. According to the 19th-century historian A.J. van der Aa, there used to be a castle in Bern, with a large tower and surrounded by walls. One of its owners, Fulco of Bern, made the castle into an abbey of the Premonstratensian order in 1134. It was inaugurated by the 25th bishop of Utrecht, Andreas of Cuyk. The abbey suffered during the Iconoclasm in 1566, and was almost completely burnt down in 1589 during the siege of Heusden by the Spanish army. It was never rebuilt, and in the middle of the 19th century, little remained of the Abbey of Bern. Bern is not a statistical entity, however it has its own postal code. In 1840, it was home to 60 people. Nowadays, it has about 13 houses.

Kerkwijk is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Zaltbommel, and lies about 11 km northwest of 's-Hertogenbosch. Kerkwijk was a separate municipality between 1818 and 1999, when it was merged with Zaltbommel.The statistical area "Kerkwijk", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of 696 in 2022.It was first mentioned in the first quarter of the 13th century as Kirkevuihc, and means "church village". Kerkwijk has a church that dates back to the 11th century, consisting of a Romanesque nave, a late-Romanesque tower and a Gothic tower from the fifteenth century. The church has wooden vaults with paintings from the fifteenth century. In 1840, Kerkwijk was home to 169 people.

Hedikhuizen is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Heusden, about 3 km east of that city.

Gameren is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Zaltbommel, and lies about 14 km (8.7 mi) northwest of 's-Hertogenbosch. Gameren was a separate municipality until 1955, when it was merged with Kerkwijk.

Ammerzoden is a village on the northern bank of the Maas river in western Gelderland, a Dutch province. The people of the village have strong connections with the people in the province of North Brabant, especially the nearby city of 's-Hertogenbosch. Since 1 January 1999, Ammerzoden has been part of the municipality of Maasdriel. Ammerzoden has a famous castle, 'Kasteel Ammersoyen', built around 1300. It was heavily damaged by fire in 1590, and sustained damage during World War II. The castle was reopened in 1975. Ammerzoden has two churches. The Protestant church, built between 1500 and 1547 as a Catholic church, was partly destroyed by the French in 1672. Some years before, the church became the property of the Protestants. Even today, most of the building is a ruin. Some parts are restored and in use. In the nineteenth century, the Catholic people built a new church for themselves, named after St. Willibrord. This building was destroyed by the Germans in World War II. A new church with the same name has existed since 1953. Until 1999, Ammerzoden was a separate municipality

Wordragen is a Dutch hamlet, north of Ammerzoden in the Maasdriel municipality of Gelderland province. It was first mentioned in the 13th century as Vurdragen. The etymology is unknown, however it contains woerd (terp, an artificial living mound). Wordragen is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Ammerzoden. In 1840, it was home to 94 people. Nowadays it consists of about 40 houses.

Nieuwaal is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Zaltbommel, and lies about 14 km east of Gorinchem. It was first mentioned in 1146 as Nivelen, and either means "settlement near low-lying land" or "new house". The popular explanation Nieuw Waal (New Waal) is incorrect. In 1840, it was home to 326 people.

Ammersoyen Castle (Dutch: Kasteel Ammersoyen) is located in Ammerzoden in the Bommelerwaard region in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. When the original construction of the castle occurred is unclear; some sources claim it was as early as the 12th century. However, the consensus among historians is that the Van Herlaer family completed the castle in the 1350s. At the time of its construction, the castle was built along a branch of the river Maas. Just a few years after the construction of the castle was completed, the river was rerouted leaving the castle to be surrounded by a moat.

De Fuik is a restaurant in Aalst in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 2008 and retained that rating until 2011.GaultMillau did not award the restaurant any points, but retained it in its Guide. The restaurant has lost its rating due to the new owner/head chef coming in.Owner and head chef of De Fuik is Marco Poldervaart. Head chefs in the period of the Michelin star were Ton Verhaar (2008-2009) and Ralph Drost (2009-2011).The restaurant is located in a modern building on the banks of the river Oude Maas. Marco and Inez Poldervaart bought the restaurant in June 2011. Sellers were Wim and Odilia Brundel, who had owned the restaurant for 31 years.De Fuik is a member of Alliance Gastronomique Néerlandaise since 1994.
