McPherson Square station

1430 K Street is a high-rise building located in the United States capital of Washington, D.C. The building was constructed in 2005 and its construction was completed in 2006. On its completion, the building rose to 150 feet (46 m), featuring 12 floors. The building serves as an office and parking garage.This was the first office building in the Washington downtown to be fully sold as a condominium. Non-profit associations and lobbying groups like the American Educational Research Association are buying floors of the building to replace their previous brownstone town houses which are not now suitable to be modern offices.The architect of the building was Alkridge, who designed the post modern design of the building. Alkridge was selected to design the building by NEST and Totah Venture, marketing organizations. Before 1430 K Street was built, two buildings were demolished in order for the construction of this building to take place.

Club Glow is the longest running electronic music event promoter on the East Coast and venue owner based in Washington, DC. Established in 1999, they currently operate venues Echostage and Soundcheck and host numerous large-scale events and music festivals at the DC Armory and RFK Stadium, including Project GLOW and Moonrise Music Festival. Club Glow regularly brings top international talent to Echostage, and in 2021 the venue was voted #1 in the world by DJ Magazine’s "Top 100 Clubs," and has been voted the best electronic music venue in North America since 2017. Club Glow partnered with Live Nation in 2011 to bring electronic music to Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, and other music venues and events. Club Glow became a subsidiary of Insomniac Events in 2020 and the creative partnership has helped the company expand throughout the East Coast and beyond.

The Structural Adjustment Participatory Review International Network (SAPRIN), based in Washington, D.C., United States and launched by the World Bank and its former president, James Wolfensohn in 1997, is a coalition of civil society organizations, their governments and the World Bank researching about structural adjustment programs and exploring new policies implemented by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in developing countries. The last SAPRI report was published in 2004.

McPherson Square is a square in downtown Washington, D.C. It is bound by K Street Northwest to the north, Vermont Avenue NW on the East, I Street NW on the south, and 15th Street NW on the West; it is one block northeast of Lafayette Park. It is the sister square of Farragut Square two blocks west.and is served by the McPherson Square station of the Washington Metro.

McPherson was originally surveyed as part of the Smithsonian's Save Outdoor Sculpture! survey in 1993. The monument is a bronze equestrian statue of Civil War hero James B. McPherson. The statue is a contributing monument to the Civil War Monuments in Washington, DC, of the National Register of Historic Places.

The United States African Development Foundation (USADF) is an independent United States government agency that provides grants of up to $250,000 for operational assistance, enterprise expansion and market linkage to early stage agriculture, energy, and youth-led enterprises that benefit underserved communities in Sub-Saharan Africa. Downtown is a neighborhood of Washington, D.C., as well as a colloquial name for the central business district in the northwest quadrant of the city. It is the fourth largest central business district in the United States. Historically, the Downtown has been defined as an area east of 16th Street NW, north of the National Mall and United States Capitol, and south of Massachusetts Avenue, including the Penn Quarter. The Lafayette Building, also known as Export-Import Bank Building, is a federal government office building at 811 Vermont Avenue NW in Washington, D.C. Completed in 1940, it was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2005. Its landmark designation was made because it was home to the Reconstruction Finance Corporation, the government arm that financed and oversaw the mobilization of the United States economy during World War II. It is currently home to the Export–Import Bank of the United States and to offices of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Arlington Hotel was a hotel in Washington, D.C. which stood from 1868 to 1912. It was considered the most opulent hotel in the District of Columbia during the post-Civil War era, a "distinctive but low-keyed example of the Second Empire style." It was built in 1868 and expanded in 1889. It was the Washington residence of many senators and Congressmen, including three-term Speaker of the House Thomas Brackett Reed and Vice President Garret Hobart. Reed died in the Arlington Hotel in December 1902 of Bright's disease.The Arlington Hotel was also a waystation for international notables such as King Albert I of Belgium, Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich of Russia and Emperor Pedro II of Brazil as well as industrialists and financial magnates Andrew Carnegie and J. P. Morgan.In 1899, The Successful American magazine recognized the Arlington Hotel as "one of the foremost hotels of the country" and wrote that the hotel had "sheltered every preeminent American for years and has been the temporary home of every potentate" visiting Washington, D.C. in the era.The hotel was demolished in 1912 in order to build an even larger hotel. However, financing fell through for the new building and the land was sold to the U.S. Government in 1918, which built what became the offices of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.

Area code 202 was one of the original NANP area codes established in October 1947 by AT&T. After the State of New Jersey with area code 201, the District of Columbia was the second numbering plan area (NPA). An NPA that comprises an entire state received a code in which the second digit was "0". Area code 771 was added as a second area code to the numbering plan area in April 2021 to create an all-services overlay.
