Morpeth House and Closebourne House

St James' Anglican Church is a heritage-listed Anglican church precinct at 19 Tank Street, Morpeth, City of Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. The original design was attributed to Edward Charles Close, with later additions by Edmund Blacket and John Horbury Hunt and built from 1837 to 1875 by Edward Charles Close and James Sherwood. The precinct also includes the St. James' rectory and parish hall (formerly schoolhouse). The property is vested in the trustees of church property for the Diocese of Newcastle. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 27 January 2017.

Morpeth Bridge is a heritage-listed road bridge over the Hunter River at Morpeth, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by Percy Allan and built from 1896 to 1898 by Samuel McGill. It is also known as Morpeth Bridge over the Hunter River. The property is owned by Transport for NSW.Opened on 15 June 1898, the Morpeth Bridge is a timber trestle bridge employing Allan trusses. It has two central iron cylinder span supports fabricated by Mort's Dock & Engineering Company. It is managed by Transport for NSW. The bridge was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 20 June 2000.

St John's College, Morpeth, known colloquially as the "Poor Man's College, Armidale", was opened in Armidale in 1898 as a theological college to train clergy to serve in the Church of England in Australia. It moved to Morpeth in 1926 and closed in 2006.

It is located approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) east of the Maitland CBD. The suburb is on sloping ground, which decreases from approximately 40 metres (131 ft) AMSL in the west to 10 m (33 ft) AMSL at the eastern edge of the suburb. At the 2016 census it had a population of approximately 2,900.

Chisholm is a suburb in the City of Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. It is 23 kilometres (14 mi) north-northwest from Newcastle, and 7 kilometres (4 mi) south-east from Maitland. The traditional owners and custodians of the Maitland area are the Wonnarua people.As at the 2016 Census, Chisholm had a population of almost 1,500. On 6 October 2011 it was announced that an additional 5,000 housing lots were to be released which estimated accommodation for an additional 15,000 residents.

Maitland High School (abbreviated as MHS) is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located on High Street, East Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1884 as the boys only single-sex Maitland Boys' High School, in 1986 the school collaborated with Maitland Girls' High School, and now both schools are co-educational, with Maitland Boys' High School renamed as Maitland High School, and Maitland Girls' High School as Maitland Grossmann High School. Maitland High School enrolled approximately 936 students in 2023, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom 17 percent identified as Indigenous Australians and seven percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education.

Hinton is a suburb of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. Primarily rural, the largest population centre is the township of Hinton, which is situated on the Paterson River, near to the confluence of the Hunter and Paterson rivers. In 1835 the post office requested a name for the town and the surveyor general suggested Hinton prior to this it was known as the second arm of the hunter river. The first European settlers were 12 ex convicts in 1818.

Maitland Grossmann High School (abbreviated as MGHS) is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in East Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. The school is situated on Cumberland Street, adjacent to the old Maitland Gaol. Established in 1884 as the girls only single-sex Maitland Girls' High School, in 1986 the school collaborated with Maitland Boys High, and now both schools are co-educational, with Maitland Girls' High School renamed as Maitland Grossmann High School, and Maitland Boys' High School renamed as Maitland High School. Maitland Grossmann High School enrolled approximately 1,200 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom seven percent identified as Indigenous Australians and six percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education.The school draws it name from Jeanette Grossman, who provided accommodation for the school in its early years.
