Odanthurai is a village located in Mettupalayam taluk, India in the Coimbatore district of the state Tamil Nadu. It is governed by the Panchayat system, and is a part of the Karamadai block along with 20 other villages. Odanthurai is notable for its implementation of the Green House Project Scheme through which the village produces electricity for its own use, as well as for the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB).

There is an abandoned stone quarry which is always with water even in dry season attracting birds and insects. Ranganathaswamy temple (also called Karamadai Temple) in Karamadai, a town panchayat in Coimbatore district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. It is located 23 km from Coimbatore in the Coimbatore–Mettuplayam highway. Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped as Ranganathaswamy and his consort Lakshmi as Ranganayaki in this temple. It is considered one among the 108 Abhimana Kshethram of Vaishnavate tradition. As per Hindu legend, the face of Ranganatha was found under an anthill in the place where the Kattariyar tribe was residing. A granite wall surrounds the temple, enclosing all its shrines. The temple has a seven-tiered rajagopuram, the temple's gateway tower. The temple follows the Tenkalai tradition of worship. Four daily rituals and many yearly festivals are held at the temple, of which the fifteen-day annual Brahmotsavam during the Tamil month of Maasi (February–March), Vaikunta Ekadasi and Ramanuja Jayanti being the most prominent. The temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Nanjundeswarar Temple is a temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva in Karamadai, a village in Coimbatore district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, It is located 96 km from Erode. Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is believed to have been built during the 16th century CE. In this temple, Shiva is worshipped as Nanjundeswarar and his consort Parvathi as Ulaganayagi. The temple is open from 6 am–12 pm and 4–8:30 pm on all days except during new moon days when it is open the full day. Four daily rituals and three yearly festivals are held at the temple, of which the Shivaratri festival during the Tamil month of Vaiakasi (May–June) and Annabishekam in Aippasi (October–November) being the most prominent. The temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
