Hee railway station is a railway station serving the small railway town of Hee in West Jutland, Denmark.Tim station is located on the Esbjerg–Struer railway line from Esbjerg to Struer. Ringkjøbing County (Danish: Ringkjøbing Amt) is a former county (Danish: amt) on the Jutland peninsula in western Denmark. It had the lowest population density of all the Danish counties. The county was abolished effective January 1, 2007, when it merged into Region Midtjylland (i.e. Region Central Jutland). Note of terminology: A modern Danish spelling of the name would be Ringkøbing Amt, but the county officially used an older, traditional spelling, as opposed to the municipality of Ringkøbing.

Survival of the Fattest is a sculpture of a small, starved boy carrying a fat woman. The sculpture was made by Jens Galschiøt and Lars Calmar in 2002, as a symbol of the imbalanced distribution of the world’s resources. In 2006 it was acquired by the city of Ringkøbing, Central Denmark Region, and placed in the harbour.

Velling Kirkeby is a small town in West Denmark on the peninsula of Jutland with a population of only 256 (1 January 2023). It is positioned next to the Ringkøbing Fjord which, with its shallow waters combined with the stable west wind, is popular with wind and kitesurfers. This town belongs to the Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality. The parish church dates to the middle of the 12th century (app. 1150) and is built in the romanesque style. Despite the modest size of the town, it has three schools built on the Danish "free school" (friskoleloven) and "public enlightenment" traditions in the parish. The schools are; Velling Friskole, Fjordvang Efterskole and Vestjyllands Højskole.

Tvind is the informal name of a confederation of private schools, humanitarian organizations, and businesses, founded as an alternative education school in Denmark circa 1970. The organization is controversial in Denmark, where it runs a number of schools primarily for troubled youth. Some former students and employees have described the organization and its controlling body, the Teachers Group, as a political cult. Investigations by journalists and law-enforcement agencies have suggested the presence of an extensive money-laundering network within the group's commercial and non-profit ventures, wherein charitable funds are diverted to private businesses and individuals, including several of the group's leaders. In 2013, several of Tvind's senior members were sentenced in absentia to prison in Denmark for suspected tax evasion and embezzlement, after an earlier acquittal. As of August 2016, the defendants, who are wanted by Interpol, are believed to be hiding in Mexico.

Det Nødvendige Seminarium (DNS) (English: The Necessary Teacher Training College) is a private international college located in Denmark. DNS offers a four-year programme in alternative pedagogy, combining theoretical studies and practical experiences. The students enrolled in DNS also enrol in a distance learning programme offered by ISET - One World, a Teacher Training institution based in Mozambique, from which they receive their licentiate in Pedagogy. The licentiate is equivalent to a bachelor's degree, although it is not clear to what extent it is accepted in Europe. DNS was founded in Denmark in 1972 and has since educated hundreds of teachers now working all over the world in positions related to alternative education for children, youngsters and adults. The institution is located in the Central Jutland, in the controversial Tvind School Center. Today, the Tvind campus is an alternative community, comprising different institutions, such as small care homes for youngsters and adults with special needs, and a wind energy farm, the Tvindkraft. Every year, Tvind and DNS host and organise different educational events, such as sports events for schools, concerts of classical music, pedagogical workshops and camps, and a yearly Peace Justice Conference.The institution is private, and the programme alternates periods of studies with periods of work to allow the students to self-finance their education. The working periods are referred to as "saving up periods", and are facilitated by DNS - often collaborating with partnering pedagogical institutions within the framework of the college.
