Tvind

Det Nødvendige Seminarium (DNS) (English: The Necessary Teacher Training College) is a private international college located in Denmark. DNS offers a four-year programme in alternative pedagogy, combining theoretical studies and practical experiences. The students enrolled in DNS also enrol in a distance learning programme offered by ISET - One World, a Teacher Training institution based in Mozambique, from which they receive their licentiate in Pedagogy. The licentiate is equivalent to a bachelor's degree, although it is not clear to what extent it is accepted in Europe. DNS was founded in Denmark in 1972 and has since educated hundreds of teachers now working all over the world in positions related to alternative education for children, youngsters and adults. The institution is located in the Central Jutland, in the controversial Tvind School Center. Today, the Tvind campus is an alternative community, comprising different institutions, such as small care homes for youngsters and adults with special needs, and a wind energy farm, the Tvindkraft. Every year, Tvind and DNS host and organise different educational events, such as sports events for schools, concerts of classical music, pedagogical workshops and camps, and a yearly Peace Justice Conference.The institution is private, and the programme alternates periods of studies with periods of work to allow the students to self-finance their education. The working periods are referred to as "saving up periods", and are facilitated by DNS - often collaborating with partnering pedagogical institutions within the framework of the college.

Hee is a village located in the Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality, in the Central Denmark Region. The village is served by Hee railway station on the Esbjerg-Struer railway line. Hee Church, presumably erected in 1140's, is one of Denmark's most significant romanesque buildings.

Nissum Fjord is an inlet located in West Jutland, west of Vemb and is demarcated from the North Sea by a 1.3 km wide isthmus, Bøvling Klit, and passes through a lock in Thorsminde. The inlet has a water area of 70 km2 or 7,000 ha. but the average water depth is only about 1 meter, and the deepest areas in Felsted Kog and the center of the inlet are between 2 and 3 meters. The northern part of the inlet, called Bøvling Fjord, is so shallow that it is sometimes completely drained by strong winds. Nissum Fjord has several creeks which empty into it, such as Ramme Creek, Flynder Creek, Damhus Creek and the largest creek, Storåen, which has its mouth at the eastern corner of Felsted Kog in the southeastern end of the inlet. Since the 1870s, Thorsminde has regulated the inlet's water level and salinity content at the lock, which facilitates water exchange in the inlet. The whole inlet as well as some surrounding land is designated as a wildlife sanctuary and Ramsar wetland, and the inlet and its surrounding reeds and meadows have a rich variety of bird life.

The hotel has 59 rooms, including 2 large with wheelchair access, and 4 banquet facilities for 25-100 people and small meeting rooms.

Ringkøbing (older spelling Ringkjøbing) is a town in Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality in Region Midtjylland on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. It has a population of 9,975 (1 January 2023).

Survival of the Fattest is a sculpture of a small, starved boy carrying a fat woman. The sculpture was made by Jens Galschiøt and Lars Calmar in 2002, as a symbol of the imbalanced distribution of the world’s resources. In 2006 it was acquired by the city of Ringkøbing, Central Denmark Region, and placed in the harbour.

Ringkjøbing County (Danish: Ringkjøbing Amt) is a former county (Danish: amt) on the Jutland peninsula in western Denmark. It had the lowest population density of all the Danish counties. The county was abolished effective January 1, 2007, when it merged into Region Midtjylland (i.e. Region Central Jutland). Note of terminology: A modern Danish spelling of the name would be Ringkøbing Amt, but the county officially used an older, traditional spelling, as opposed to the municipality of Ringkøbing.
