Frankies 457 Spuntino is an Italian restaurant and olive oil company located in Brooklyn, New York established in 2004 by Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli.According to Laura Shunk of The Village Voice, the restaurant is considered one of the fourteen essential Italian restaurants in Brooklyn and is known as pioneers of the current crostini trend in New York. The John Rankin House at 440 Clinton Street at the corner of Carroll Street in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City was built in the Greek Revival style in 1840, at which time it stood by itself, surrounded by farmland and overlooking Upper New York Bay.Rankin was a merchant, and the mansion, one of the finest Greek Revival houses in the city, was one of the largest residences in Brooklyn in the 1840s. It is a three-story, square brick building on a stone foundation. The interior features a massive mahogany stairway with paneled wainscotting.It was designated a New York City landmark in 1970, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Currently it is the F. G. Guido Funeral Home.

Carroll Gardens is a neighborhood in the northwestern portion of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Red Hook Recreation Area, also known as Red Hook Park, is a 58.5-acre (237,000 m2) public park in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City, composed of several segments centered around Bay Street. The park's recreational facilities include handball courts, softball fields, a soccer and football field, and a running track. The Sol Goldman Play Center, within the block bounded by Bay, Henry, Lorraine and Clinton Streets, consists of a brick bathhouse and two pools. The park is operated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, also known as NYC Parks. The land for the park was acquired starting in 1913 and was transferred to NYC Parks in 1934. Joseph L. Hautman designed the pool, which was constructed from 1935 to 1936 as part of a Works Progress Administration project. The rest of the park opened in 1940. The pool was extensively refurbished from 1983 to 1986; it was renamed for Sol Goldman in 1991 after he donated funds to keep the pool open. The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated the Sol Goldman Play Center as a city landmark in 2007. As a result of extensive lead contamination, the fields were closed and renovated in phases starting in 2019.

The Smith–Ninth Streets station is a local station on the IND Culver Line of the New York City Subway. The station is 87.5 feet (26.7 m) above ground level, making it the highest rapid transit station in the world.This elevated station, opened on October 7, 1933, has four tracks and two side platforms. The South Congregational Church is a former Congregational and United Church of Christ church building complex located on the intersection of Court and President Streets in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, New York City. The complex consisting of a church, original chapel, ladies parlor, and rectory was designated a city landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission on March 23, 1983. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.The chapel was built 1851 and the church in 1857. The ladies parlor was built in 1889 to designs by English-American architect Frederick Charles Merry (d.1900) and the rectory building in 1893 to designs by architect Woodruff Leeming. The church is noteworthy as one of Brooklyn's finest examples of the Early Romanesque Revival architectural style. The designers of the chapel and church remain unknown. In 1874, the Rev. Dr. Albert Josiah Lyman became pastor of the South Church, Brooklyn, which church he served for forty-one years.The location is believed to have been selected by the famous preacher and abolitionist Henry Ward Beecher, father to author Harriet Beecher Stowe. As of 2008, it had a well-preserved façade but had been adaptively reused as an office and multi-residences.

The Gowanus Memorial Artyard was a non-profit, artist-organized group that organized massive outdoor and indoor art exhibitions in Gowanus, Brooklyn in New York City in the early 1980s. Founded by artists and curators Michael Keene, Frank Shifreen, and George Moore, the shows featured monumental sculpture parks next to the Gowanus Canal. The two major shows attracted thousands of visitors during their brief runs in 1981 and 1982. The participants artists such as Carl Andre, Andy Warhol-sponsored Keith Haring, Christo, Linda and Terry Jamison, Vito Acconci, Nancy Holt, John Fekner, the controversial Chris Burden, sculptor Jim Nickel, and Fred Wilson.
