Glenmore, County Kilkenny

Ida (Irish: Uí Dheá) is a barony in the south-east of County Kilkenny, Ireland. Ida is made up of 16 civil parishes containing 191 townlands, it is one of 12 baronies in the County. The barony is 249.8 square kilometres (96.4 sq mi) in size, with highest point at Tory Hill. The chief town is Slieveroe. The N25 crosses the barony. Ida lies at the south-east of the county, with the barony of Gowran to the north (whose chief town is Gowran), Iverk and Knocktopher to the west (whose chief towns are Piltown and Knocktopher), and the barony of Kilculliheen to the south. County Waterford is located to the east of the barony.

The Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Bridge is an extradosed bridge over the River Barrow in Ireland. It was built as part of the N25 New Ross Bypass, and was officially opened on 29 January 2020 by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and opened to traffic on 30 January 2020, becoming Ireland's longest bridge.

Glenmore is a Gaelic Athletic Association club situated in the south of County Kilkenny, Ireland. The club was founded in 1888 and has achieved hurling success at county, provincial and national level. Glenmore has also provided the Kilkenny intercounty team with several top players.

Hoodsgrove is a townland in the parish of Rosbercon, County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is bordered by Ballybeg to the east, Tinneranny to the north and Kilbrahan to the south. The Mile Bush is a notable landmark, standing in a fork on the main New Ross to Millinavat road.

New Ross Golf Club is an Irish golf club founded in 1905 and based in Tinneranny, New Ross, County Wexford, Ireland. The club's slogan is "A Pleasure to Play".

Barrow rail bridge, (or the Barrow viaduct), is a pratt truss type of railway bridge that spans the river Barrow between County Kilkenny and County Wexford in the south east of Ireland. This rural landmark with a length of 2,131 ft (650 m) is the longest bridge on the river. It was second longest bridge in Ireland and the third longest rail bridge on the islands of Ireland & Great Britain. Designed by Sir Benjamin Baker and built by the firm of Sir William Arrol. It is known locally as Barrow Bridge. Part of a development to improve cross-channel passenger services. The steel truss single track bridge was built between 1902 and 1906 by English and Irish railway companies, it operated passenger services between Rosslare Harbour and Waterford until 2010. It is maintained by Iarnród Éireann, the Irish rail operator.This bridge is one of six rail bridges of 45 bridges on the Barrow. It spans the river just upstream from its confluence with another of the three sisters the River Suir. Close to Great Island Power Station near Cheekpoint. It is the last bridge on the river Barrow and opens approximately twice daily to permit shipping and yachts to pass upstream to New Ross.In 2021, reports in local media suggested the bridge would be permanently opened to shipping. This proposal was later reversed. After a collision with a ship in February 2022, Irish Rail announced plans to pin the bridge open in December 2022 to perform repair works.

Tullogher (; Irish: Tullachar) is a small village in County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is situated near the River Nore, approx 30 kilometres (19 mi) southeast of Kilkenny city and near the village of Listerlin 3 kilometres (1.9 mi). Historically, the name has been spelt as Tullagher, Thulachair, and in other ways.It has a large Roman Catholic church (St. Aidan's), part of the diocese of Ossory. The church part of the wider Tullogher parish, which consists of two other churches including Assumption Church in Rosbercon and St. David's church in Listerlin, with additional graveyards at Shanbough and Ballyneale. It is bounded by the parishes of Glenmore to the south and Mullinavat to the west and The Rower - Inistioge to the north and west.

Horeswood GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Wexford, Ireland. The club fields teams in Gaelic football, hurling, camogie and Ladies Gaelic football, and participates in competitions organized by Wexford GAA county board.

Slieverue, officially Slieveroe, (Irish: Sliabh Rua, meaning 'red mountain') is a village in South County Kilkenny, Republic of Ireland. It is located in the historical barony of Ida. Despite the name, the land is relatively low-lying and fertile. Slieverue's population, as of the 2016 census, was 476.

Great Island Power Station is a gas fired and former heavy fuel oil fired power station situated near Waterford Harbour in Great Island, County Wexford, Ireland, that supplies electricity to more than 500,000 Irish homes. It is located at the confluence of the rivers Barrow and Suir, near Campile. The station opened in 1967 and was operated by the Electricity Supply Board (ESB) with three heavy fuel oil units and a total power of 240 MW since 1972. The station was scheduled to close by 2010, until it was sold to Endesa in January 2009. In October 2012, the plant was acquired by SSE Thermal. In September 2014, the oil powered units were shut down, and replaced by a new 430 MW combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) gas fired plant on the same site. The project needed a new 44.5 km gas pipeline from the existing transmission network at Baunlusk, 6 km south of Kilkenny City.

Cheekpoint (Irish: Pointe na Síge) is a village and townland in County Waterford, Ireland, at the confluence of the River Suir and the River Barrow. Located beneath 150-metre-high Minaun Hill, the village has panoramic views of Waterford Harbour, the 650-metre-long Barrow Bridge and Great Island Power Station. Cheekpoint is also surrounded by the Malting Woods which were planted by Cornelius Bolton.

Gorteens Castle is a ruined castle situated on private land in south-east County Kilkenny near the village of Slieverue close to Waterford city. It is in the historic parish of Rathpatrick in the south-east of the Barony of Ida. Along with the ruins of Rathpatrick church and another church, it is one of several ruins in Rathpatrick Parish.The ruin consists of a gatehouse that may have belonged to a larger structure. Gorteens comes from the Irish na goirtinsdhe which means little gorts or gardens. Archaeological excavations near the castle in 1993 indicated that the site was used between the 16th and 18th centuries, with further excavations in 2003 identifying additional castle walls and outbuildings.
