Slieverue

Gorteens Castle is a ruined castle situated on private land in south-east County Kilkenny near the village of Slieverue close to Waterford city. It is in the historic parish of Rathpatrick in the south-east of the Barony of Ida. Along with the ruins of Rathpatrick church and another church, it is one of several ruins in Rathpatrick Parish.The ruin consists of a gatehouse that may have belonged to a larger structure. Gorteens comes from the Irish na goirtinsdhe which means little gorts or gardens. Archaeological excavations near the castle in 1993 indicated that the site was used between the 16th and 18th centuries, with further excavations in 2003 identifying additional castle walls and outbuildings.

Waterford Castle is a historic house on Little Island in Waterford, Ireland. The house was owned by a branch of the Fitzgerald family for hundreds of years, but was developed into a hotel in the 1980s.

Ferrybank GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club based in Waterford City, Republic of Ireland. It is situated in the suburb of Ferrybank on the north bank of the River Suir. There have been Gaelic games played in Ferrybank since the first team known as the Davis's was formed in the early 1890s. The club, under its present guise, was formed in 1950, and celebrated its 50th anniversary in the year 2000.The club caters for boys and girls from the age of 5 years and upwards. At juvenile level, the club were U-14 and U-16 County Champions in hurling in 2007 and teams are fielded at all juvenile grades. At adult level in hurling, the club fields teams at intermediate and minor levels. In Gaelic football, the club were Waterford Junior Champions in 2007.

Kilculliheen (Irish: Cill Choilchín) is a civil parish, electoral division and barony in Ireland, on the north bank of the River Suir across from the centre of Waterford City. Historically, it has been transferred several times between the county of the city of Waterford and the counties of Kilkenny and Waterford. It now contains the only part of Waterford city on the left bank of the River Suir. The Parliamentary Gazetteer of 1846 states "as it lies on the left bank of the Suir, which, for the most part, divides co. Waterford from co. Kilkenny, most topographists mistakingly assign it to the barony of Ida, co. Kilkenny". It is now partly in County Kilkenny and partly in Waterford City. Of the barony's eleven townlands, five (Belmount, Ballinvoher, Newtown, Ballyrobin, and Rathculliheen) are entirely in Kilkenny and six (Abbeylands, Christendom, Mountmisery, Mountsion, Newrath, and Rockshire) are split between Kilkenny and Waterford. The city portion contains the formerly rural village of Ferrybank, which gives its name to a wider suburb which has spread across the county boundary.

Ferrybank (Irish: Port an Chalaidh) is a suburb of Waterford City in Ireland. Much of Ferrybank, or "the village" as it is referred to locally, is under the political jurisdiction of Waterford City and County Council and thus an area of administration for Waterford City, on the northern bank of the River Suir, extending into County Waterford. However, some parts of Ferrybank extend into County Kilkenny and are administered by Kilkenny County Council. There has been a long lasting boundary dispute between both jurisdictions, with debates and proposals ongoing for many decades.

Little Island is an island on the eastern outskirts of Waterford City in Ireland. It is encircled by the River Suir and Kings Channel and is 420 acres in extent.

Ardkeen (from Irish Ard Caoin 'Fair/Pleasant Height') is a civil parish and townland (of 461 acres) in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is situated in the historic barony of Ards Upper.

Waterpark College is a secondary school in the city of Waterford, Ireland. The school was established in 1892 on the banks of the River Suir as Waterford's first Classical school, and still provides a secondary education to boys and girls from Waterford City, County and the surrounding area. Its long serving principal, Thomas A. Beecher, held the position from 1990 to 2019 and was replaced by the Deputy Princpal Joe Hagan

Reginald's Tower (Irish: Túr Raghnaill) is a historic tower in Waterford, Munster, Ireland. It is located at the eastern end of the city quay. The tower has been in usage for different purposes for many centuries and is an important landmark in Waterford and an important remnant of its medieval urban defence system. It is the oldest civic building in Ireland and it is the only urban monument in Ireland to retain a Norse or Viking name.

The Beach Tower located in Jenkins Lane car park, Waterford is a 15th century crenelated building which is part of the city defences. It was built on a rocky outcrop overlooking the River Suir and forms a natural defensive position. The tower is an excellent observation post with uninterrupted views both upriver to Granagh Castle and downriver beyond Reginald's Tower. From the city's defensive point of view this was important as attacks from the river occurred occasionally and in particular the fear was of a Spanish landing. It also enabled the observers to keep an eye on the city docks from above.The tower, which was substantially rebuilt during the early 17th century, was a bastion citadel. It had a rectangular shape with corner bastions which are typical of 17th century forts in Ireland.
