Tears–McFarlane House

The Cornwall Apartments is a building on the National Register of Historic Places in the Capitol Hill section of Denver, Colorado. The apartments were designed by Denver architect Walter Rice in a Mexican colonial style that capturing a cosmopolitan spirit and gaiety in the unusual architectural elements for 1900, such as its balustrades, mouldings, and varied balconies. Reed made most of the terra cotta trim himself. It may have been the first building of a Spanish-derived architectural style. Other houses of the time were generally of Victorian and European architectural styles. Other architects and designers found that the Spanish style is more appropriate for Colorado's climate. The three-storied building has 21 apartments, a roof garden and full basement. A former ballroom has been in the north tower has repurposed as a penthouse apartment. The other towers were used as "summer gardens". In 1901, the building was described as "the handsomest structure on the Hill" by the Rocky Mountain News.The building's first owner, William T. Cornwall, was a Denver Fire Clay Company executive and a local real estate developer. The building is now condominiums, and the exterior was renovated in 2010.

Cheesman Park is an urban park and neighborhood located in the City and County of Denver, Colorado, United States.

Humboldt Street Historic District, or Humboldt Island, is located west of Cheesman Park in Denver, Colorado on Humboldt Street between East Tenth and Twelfth Streets. It was the first residential district to be designated a historic district by the Denver Landmark Preservation Commission in 1972, and is listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places.There are 25 houses in the district built between 1895 and 1920. They were designed by prominent architectural firms, including Willison and Fallis, Marean and Norton, and Barressen Brothers. There district contains houses of Renaissance Revival, Georgian Revival, Colonial Revival as well as simple Foursquare style architecture. Some of Denver's most wealthy and influential people lived in the neighborhood. After Frederick G. Bonfils' mansion was torn down to make way for a fifteen-story apartment house, Denver passed an ordinated to protect Cheesman Park's mountain view from other high-rise buildings. Bonfils and Harry Tammen were owners of The Denver Post and self-made millionaires. Tammen had a Tuscan villa at 1061 Humboldt. Mining millionaires, the Stoibers had the district's showiest mansion, Stoiber-Reed-Humphreys Mansion, of Renaissance Revival-style architecture. Governor William Ellery Sweet lived in a Georgian Revival-style house at 1075 Humboldt.

The SAME Cafe is a nonprofit community cafe located at 2023 East Colfax Avenue, Denver, Colorado, United States. Brad and Libby Birky invested $30,000 to open the restaurant on October 20, 2006, inspired by their background in community service and a visit to the One World Cafe in Salt Lake City, Utah. The name is an acronym for "So All May Eat", and their motto is "Making healthy, organic food available to all". They offer higher quality food in a pay what you can format where the diner puts what they feel their meal was worth in a donation box. They also accept a 1/2 hour of volunteer help in exchange for a meal, made possible by Colorado laws which do not require a food handlers certificate for restaurant workers.

The Doyle–Benton House was the former residence of James and Daphne Doyle until 1904, where it was later the residence of Frank Benton and family in 1906 until 1970. Mr. Doyle was the founder of the Portland Gold Mine, which is still producing as part of AngloGold Ashanti’s Cripple Creek and Victor Mining Company on the western slope of Pike’s Peak. Mr. Benton was a prominent cattle rancher on the Western Slope and was one of the founders of the National Western Stock Show.

Blush & Blu is a lesbian bar located on East Colfax Avenue in Denver, Colorado. It is the city's last lesbian bar, down from a peak of seven, and one of approximately twenty remaining in the United States.Blush & Blu is owned by Jody Bouffard who previously owned tHERe Coffee Bar and Lounge from 2005 to 2011 and Her Bar from 2008 to 2011. Bouffard also worked at a bar called The Elle. In 2012, she reacquired tHERe Coffee Bar and Lounge's space, which she reopened as Blush. It gained its current name in 2013 following an expansion, which also included Voodoo Doughnut's first Colorado location.Bouffard is also an artists, and her work decorates the bar's space.

The Stoiber-Reed-Humphreys Mansion is located within the Humboldt Street Historic District in Denver, Colorado. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 29, 1978. The mansion is considered "the largest and most imposing residence in the district."

The Altamaha Apartments, at 1490 Lafayette St. in the Cheesman Park neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, was built in 1902. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. It was designed by architect George L. Bettcher in Italian Renaissance Revival style.It was deemed significant as representing "Denver's early twentieth century adoption of a new form of residential housing-the luxury apartment building. The Altamaha Apartments are also significant under Criterion C, as they embody the distinctive characteristics of the Italian Renaissance Revival style as applied to an apartment building.It has also been known as Alta Court, and in 2020 a sign indicates Alta Court Offices.The listing includes two contributing buildings.

The Owen E. LeFevre House is a historic home in Denver, Colorado. It was built prior to 1896, when it became the home of Owen E. Levre. At that time it had a carriage entrance gate from 13th Street to the southwest of the house. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 13, 1976.

The Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory, located at Denver Botanic Gardens, is an iconic landmark in Denver, Colorado. The tropical conservatory was designed in 1964 by Denver architects Victor Hornbein and Ed White Jr. and opened in 1966. Its structure consists of high, interlaced concrete arches inset with faceted Plexiglas panels, which suitably honor benefactor Claude Boettcher of the Ideal Cement Company. In 1973, it was awarded Denver Landmark status. The Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory incorporates more than 11,000 sq. ft. of plants from tropical and subtropical regions, as well as a fabricated two-story banyan tree that offers a multi-layered view of the tropical forest.

The Denver Botanic Gardens is a public botanical garden located in the Cheesman Park neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. The 23-acre (93,000 m2) park contains a conservatory, a variety of theme gardens and a sunken amphitheater, which hosts various concerts in the summer.

Tiki Boyd's was a tiki bar in Denver, Colorado in operation from 2005 to 2006. Experimental sound/noise musician Boyd Rice designed the bar, revamping the bar originally known as the East Coast Bar located in the Ramada Denver Downtown. A tiki enthusiast, Rice provided art from his personal collection for the bar. Rice is also a tiki scholar, having written an essay for Martin McIntosh's book, Taboo: The Art of Tiki. Lorin Partridge, a friend of Rice, tended the bar, and the bar was known for a drink called a Bronze Serpent. The music was played exclusively from vinyl including records by Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman, also from Rice's collection.
