Souroti

The Monastery of St. John the Theologian is (Greek: Ιερά Μονή Αγίου Ιωάννη του Θεολόγου στη Σουρωτή) a Greek Orthodox Christian nunnery located in Souroti, Greece. It was founded in 1967. The tomb of Saint Paisios of Mount Athos is located in the monastery. The relics of Saint Arsenios the Cappadocian are also kept in the monastery.The monastery has a publishing house that publishes books in both Greek and English.

Agia Paraskevi (Greek: Αγία Παρασκευή) is a village and a community of the Thermi municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Vasilika, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 2,244 inhabitants in the village. The community of Agia Paraskevi covers an area of 15.574 km2.

Agios Antonios (Greek: Άγιος Αντώνιος) is a village and a community of the Thermi municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Vasilika, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 647 inhabitants in the village and 874 inhabitants in the community. The community of Agios Antonios covers an area of 50.023 km2.

Tagarades (Greek: Ταγαράδες) is a village and a community of the Thermi municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Thermi, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 2,088 inhabitants in the village. The community of Tagarades covers an area of 15.325 km2.

Kato Scholari (Greek: Κάτω Σχολάρι) is a village and a community of the Thermi municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Mikra, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 1,954 inhabitants in the village. The community of Kato Scholari covers an area of 23.80 km2.

Nea Raidestos (Greek: Νέα Ραιδεστός) is a village and a community of the Thermi municipality. The village was settled by Greek refugees from Raidestos (today's Tekirdag, Turkey) after the 1923 Population Exchange. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Thermi, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 3,869 inhabitants in the village and 4,101 inhabitants in the community. The community of Nea Raidestos covers an area of 14.65 km2.

Filothei (Greek: Φιλοθέη) is a village of the Thermi municipality, northern Greece. The 2011 census recorded 232 inhabitants in the village. Filothei is a part of the community of Nea Raidestos.

Ano Scholari (Greek: Άνω Σχολάρι) is a village of the Thermi municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Mikra. The 2011 census recorded 178 inhabitants in the village. Ano Scholari is a part of the community of Trilofo.

Lakkia (Greek: Λακκιά) is a village of the Thermi municipality, northern Greece. The 2011 census recorded 438 inhabitants in the village. Lakkia is a part of the community of Vasilika.

Scithae or Skithai (Ancient Greek: Σκίθαι) was a town of Chalcidice in ancient Macedonia. It is cited in a fragment of Theopompus collected by Stephanus of Byzantium, which locates it in Thrace, in the vicinity of Potidaea. The city also appears on coins; Scithaean silver coins dated around the year 500 BCE have been preserved. It has been suggested that Scithae is the same place as Kithas, which suggestion is accepted by the editors of the Barrington Atlas of the Greek and Roman World.Accepting the identification, its site is located in the western Chalcidice.

Cithas or Kithas (Ancient Greek: Κίθας) was a town of Chalcidice in ancient Macedonia. It belonged to the Delian League since it appears in the tribute registry of Athens for the year 434/3 BCE, where it paid a phoros of 3000 drachmas jointly with the cities of Tinde, Gigonus, Smila and Lisaea.The location of its site is disputed: the editors of the Barrington Atlas of the Greek and Roman World treat Cithas as located at the site of Cissus; whereas, Mogens Herman Hansen and his colleagues treat Cithas as unlocated.Accepting the identification, its site is located in the western Chalcidice.

Vasilika (Greek: Βασιλικά) is a community and a municipal unit of the Thermi municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform the municipal unit of Vasilika was an independent municipality, with the respective community being the seat. The 2011 census recorded 4,200 inhabitants in the community and 9,911 inhabitants in the municipal unit. The community of Vasilika covers an area of 56.81 km2 while the respective municipal unit covers an area of 200.336 km2.According to the statistics of Vasil Kanchov ("Macedonia, Ethnography and Statistics"), 2.000 Greek Christians lived in the village in 1900.
