The Place des Quinconces, located in Bordeaux, France, is among the largest city squares in Europe (approximately 63 ac or 25.6 ha). It was laid out in 1820 on the site of Château Trompette and was intended to prevent rebellion against the city. Its guns were turned towards the centre. Its current shape (lengthened rectangle rounded off with a semicircle) was adopted in 1816. Trees were planted (in quincunxes, hence the name of the square) in 1818. With the installation of a tram system in 2003, the place has become the most important public transport hub of the area, with Quinconces tram stop serving three tram lines, 21 bus lines (including 3 night buses), an electric shuttle, and 12 coach lines through Gironde as well as a reception area in the south.

ESTEI was a private school in Bordeaux, France. It used to offer two courses: Web Development and Computer Graphics and Robotic and Embedded Systems Engineering. The curriculum provided small, professional-level classes covering up to five years of study which could lead to state recognized master, bachelor, and associate degrees in the chosen field. Estei has been bough in 2017 by the Ynov group and most teachings wiped out over the course of the integration (around 2020). The scientific part of the degrees vanished to lean more toward high-level informatics.

Quinconces tram stop is located on lines B, C and D of the Tramway de Bordeaux, and serves as an interchange between the three lines. The stop is located in the Place des Quinconces in the centre of the city of Bordeaux, and has four parallel platforms. Two of these serve lines C and D, which share tracks at this point, whilst the other two serve line B. The stop is operated by Transports Bordeaux Métropole.The stop opened on 24 April 2004, when both lines B and C opened. It initially served as the terminus of both lines, until 27 July 2007, when line B was extended to Bassins à Flot, and 19 November 2007, when line C was extended to Grand-Parc. Line D first served the stop on 14 December 2019, when that line opened.For most of the day on Mondays to Fridays, trams run at least every five minutes in both directions on both lines B and C, and every eight minutes on line D. Services run less frequently in the early morning, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.

The Jardin botanique de Bordeaux (0.5 hectares) is the historical municipal botanical garden, located inside of the Jardin public" (Public garden), at Place Bardineau, Bordeaux, Gironde, Aquitaine, France. It is open daily without charge. This old garden has been recently supplemented by the modern Jardin botanique de la Bastide, located across the river. Although the garden's origins extend back to 1629 AD, with the creation of Bordeaux's first medicinal garden, today's botanical garden dates to 1858. It currently contains more than 3000 plant species, both those indigenous to Aquitaine and exotic plants from North America, China and Japan. It is organized as a systematic collection. The garden's seed collection contains 2,000 taxa, and its herbarium contains about 85,000 specimens.
