Østre Porsgrunn Church (Norwegian: Østre Porsgrunn kirke; also known as Østsiden kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Porsgrunn Municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. It is located in the town of Porsgrunn. It is one of the two churches for the Porsgrunn parish which is part of the Skien prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, concrete church was built in a modern, rectangular design in 2019 using plans drawn up by the architect Espen Surnevik. The church seats about 500 people.The church is located in the Kirkehaugen district of Eastern Porsgrunn. The church sits just east of Fylkesvei 356 at Kirkebakken 17. In 2011 the old Rococo style church that was built in 1760 was completely destroyed by a fire. A new building was completed on the same site in 2019.

Grenland Friteater is one of the oldest independent theatres in Norway, based in the small industrial town Porsgrunn. Every year in June, Grenland Friteater organises the Porsgrunn International Theatre Festival.

Our Lady of Good Counsel Church (Norwegian: Vår Frue av det Gode Råds Kirke) is a Roman Catholic parish church in the city of Porsgrunn in Vestfold og Telemark, Norway. The church is located in the center of town just south of Porsgrunn River, at the intersection of Sverresgate and Aallsgate. The church was built in 1899 by Haldor Larsen Børve and is a classic example of Dragestil architecture.

Amphitrite, the wave and the sea birds (Norwegian: Amfitrite, bølgen og havfuglene) is a 4 m (13 ft) tall stainless steel sculpture by Jørleif Uthaug located in Porsgrunn, Norway. The work consists of a nude female figure (representing Amphitrite, the wife of Neptune) and two seabirds gliding over a large geometric wave. It is one of Uthaug's most recognizable and celebrated works.The piece, which was unveiled in May 1985, is one of only a few Uthaug sculptures to include figurative elements, but it also displays many features typical of Uthaug's work, including modern style, metal construction, and themes of seafaring and the ocean. The sculpture was initially located in Nordentorget, a town square on Storgata in central Porsgrunn. In spring of 1999, it was moved behind the then-Aetat building on Strandpromenaden, a riverwalk along the eastern bank of Porsgrunn River, where it still stands today.

Gunnekleivfjorden is a fjord in Porsgrunn Municipality in Telemark county, Norway. The 2-kilometre (1.2 mi) long fjord is located at the head of Frierfjord in the town of Porsgrunn.The west side of the fjord is defined by the Herøya peninsula at the mouth of Telemarksvassdraget. Herøya features a large industrial park that was founded in 1928. It contains major facilities of Norsk Hydro, Yara, and REC (ScanWafer subsidiary). The east side of the fjord belongs to Skrapeklev, a residential area in the town of Porsgrunn.The fjord's mouth lies on the north end of the fjord where the Porsgrunn River discharges into the Frierfjord at Norsk Hydro's factory complex. The Skien River, which begins in Skien, is called the Porsgrunn River as it runs through Porsgrunn. Small watercraft traffic can also pass through a man-made canal at the south of the fjord.The fjord is heavily polluted due to the development of the industrial area at Herøya. The fjord has brackish water with a significant amount of fish (both freshwater and saltwater species).

It is located in the town of Porsgrunn. It is one of the churches for the Porsgrunn parish which is part of the Skien prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1758 using plans drawn up by the architects Lauritz de Thurah and Andreas Pfützner. The church seats about 170 people.

Porsgrunn City Hall is the seat of government for Porsgrunn city and municipality in Telemark, Norway. The current city hall was constructed in 1905 after the original building was destroyed in a fire. The building is situated at the intersection of Storgata and Rådhusgata in eastern Porsgrunn.

The Customs House (Norwegian: Tollboden) is a historic building in Porsgrunn, Telemark, Norway. It was built in 1891 by architect Haldor Larsen Børve and used as a liquor store and restaurant until 1903, when the city took it over for use as a customs house. The building, which now holds offices for Statsbygg Sør, is located on Storgata 162, along the banks of the Porsgrunn River and just across from Porsgrunn City Hall.

Herøya is a peninsula in Porsgrunn Municipality in Telemark county, Norway. It is located between the fjords of Frierfjord to the west and Gunnekleivfjord to the east, at the mouth of Porsgrunn River. The name stems from the Old Norse word "her-eyjar" meaning an island (øya) with a horde or army (her), thus "the crowded island".The peninsula features a large industrial park that was founded in 1928 and contains major facilities of Norsk Hydro, Yara. REC (ScanWafer subsidiary) said in 2023 that the company is closing down its operations in Norway.The area is served by the Bratsberg Line. 2,700 people work on the 1.5 square kilometres (0.58 sq mi) peninsula that has about 30 companies, most of which are subsidiaries of Norsk Hydro, including Hydro's research park with 350 employees. A populated area south of the peninsula itself, which was initially housing for the Hydro employees, is also considered part of Herøya as a suburb of the city of Porsgrunn. Herøya also has a local football club, participating in the Norwegian 5th division. The club stadium, Herøya Stadion, has a capacity in surplus of 2000.

It is one of the churches for the Eidanger parish which is part of the Skien prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The brick church was built in a rectangular design in 1957 using plans drawn up by the architects Helge Abrahamsen and Hans Grinde. The church seats about 430 people, but can hold up to 700 people if the movable walls are changed to maximize seating in the main room.
