Leuzinger High School

California's 43rd congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California that is currently represented by Democrat Maxine Waters. The district is centered in the southern part of Los Angeles County, and includes portions of the cities of Los Angeles (including LAX) and Torrance. It includes the entirety of the cities of Hawthorne, Lawndale, Gardena, Inglewood, and Lomita. From 2003 until 2013, the 43rd district was based in San Bernardino County. The Hispanic-majority district encompassed the southwestern part of the county, and included San Bernardino and Rialto.

Rancho Sausal Redondo (Round Willow-grove Ranch) was a 22,458-acre (91 km2) Mexican land grant in present day Los Angeles County, California given in 1837 to Antonio Ygnacio Ávila by Juan Alvarado Governor of Alta California. Rancho Sausal Redondo covered the area that now includes Playa Del Rey, El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Lawndale, Hermosa Beach, Inglewood, Hawthorne, and Redondo Beach.

Hawthorne is a city in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, located in southwestern Los Angeles County, California. It is part of a seventeen-city region commonly called the South Bay. As of the 2020 US census, Hawthorne had a population of 88,083.

Lawndale is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 32,769 at the 2010 census, up from 31,712 according to the 2000 census. The city is in the South Bay region of the Greater Los Angeles Area.

Alondra Park (), also known as El Camino Village, is a census designated place (CDP) in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, California, United States. It is the unincorporated area north of Alondra Community Regional Park and El Camino College. It is east of Lawndale, south of Hawthorne, west of Gardena, and north of Torrance. Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Crenshaw Boulevard are the two major cross streets in the area. The population was 8,569 at the 2020 census, down from 8,592 at the 2010 census. There is an official Alondra Park Post Office of the U.S. Postal Service in nearby Gardena, California. Urbanized cement-lined Dominguez Creek bisects a portion of Alondra Park.

Lawndale High School is one of three high schools in Lawndale, California, United States. The school was closed in 1981, and reopened in 1998. It is one of three schools in the Centinela Valley Union High School District. In 2009, Lawndale High was awarded the California Distinguished Award. The principal was then Vicente Bravo. During this time period, Lawndale was also awarded the US News Silver Medal for similar high schools throughout the nation. It was also a Title 1 Achievement school. Lawndale High had an enrollment of 2,364 as of the 2013–14 school year.

The All Olympia Gymnastics Center or AOGC is a one-facility gymnastics gym in Calabasas. A previous location in Hawthorne, California, was closed down. The head coaches are 1983 World Vault Champion Artur Akopyan and 1980 Olympian Galina Marinova. Their notable elite gymnasts are 2012 Olympic Champion McKayla Maroney, 2010 World Team Member Mattie Larson and Stanford Cardinal Samantha Shapiro.

Hawthorne Math and Science Academy is a state charter high school in Hawthorne, California, USA. It is part of the Hawthorne School District. Esau Berumen is the Principal.

Hawthorne Plaza is an abandoned former shopping mall along Hawthorne Boulevard between 120th Street and El Segundo Boulevard in Hawthorne, California.

Environmental Charter High School, abbreviated to ECHS, is a 9th through 12th grade public charter high school in Lawndale, California. It was founded in 2002. Prior to its founding, there was another high school at the same location that was named “Victory”. It was around from at least 1999–2001.

Gardena Cinema is an 800-seat, single-screen movie theater located on Crenshaw Boulevard, Gardena, California in the US. It was built in the 1940s.

Featherstone Field, previously known as Murdock Stadium is a stadium on the campus of El Camino College in Torrance, California. Built in 1958 the stadium seats around 12,127 on wood-backed bleacher seats. It was home to the North American Soccer League's Los Angeles Aztecs for two years (1975–1976), the American Soccer League's Southern California Lazers for a single season in 1978, as well as several United States men's national soccer team FIFA World Cup qualification matches. Today, it hosts El Camino College's American football team. The stadium was originally named after the founding president of the college, Forrest G. Murdock. The stadium was also used as the main stadium in the 2005 remake of the 1974 film, The Longest Yard. The 2005 film starred Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, James Cromwell and Burt Reynolds, who actually played the lead role in the original film. The original stadium was demolished and a new state of the art stadium was opened in September 2016. In 2019, El Camino College announced that they would rename the field inside Murdock Stadium after longtime football coach John Featherstone, a former coach at El Camino. The stadium is also the annual host site of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Los Angeles City Section high school football championship games.
