Mícheál Breathnach is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in County Galway, Republic of Ireland. The club is a member of the Galway GAA. Underage teams up to U-16's play in the Galway league and championships while further age groups compete in their respective competitions. Na Breathnaigh compete in the Galway Senior Football Championship yet they have not won the competition in their history. Na Breathnaigh's Hurling squad represent Ireland in the Iomain Cholmcille shinty/hurling international for Gaelic speakers. They have defeated the Scots Gaelic team, Alba, twice in 2007 and 2008. They faced Alba again on 13 February 2010 in Portree but were defeated.The club is named after Irish-language writer, Mícheál Breathnach, who was connected to the area.

Spiddal (Irish and official name: An Spidéal, pronounced [ənˠ ˈsˠpʲɪdʲeːlˠ], meaning 'the hospital') is a village on the shore of Galway Bay in County Galway, Ireland. It is 18 kilometres (11 mi) west of Galway city, on the R336 road. It is on the eastern side of the county's Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking area) and of the Connemara region. According to the 2016 census, 35.3% of the population speak Irish on a daily basis outside the education system. It is a centre for tourism with a beach, harbour, and shore fishing. The village is part of the civil parish of Moycullen.

Clochar na gCon is an intact Atlantic or oceanic blanket bog and national nature reserve of approximately 3,081 acres (12.47 km2) in County Galway, Ireland. It is 25 km west of Galway city.

Galway Wind Park is Ireland's largest onshore wind farm. Located in Connemara's Cloosh Valley west of Moycullen, County Galway. The wind park was co-developed by SSE Renewables and Coillte at a cost of €280 million and consists of 58 Siemens 3 MW SWT-3.0-101 wind turbines. The wind park provides energy to around 89,000 homes, which is equivalent to 80% of the homes in Galway.

Galway Bay (Irish: Loch Lurgain or Cuan na Gaillimhe) is a bay on the west coast of Ireland, between County Galway in the province of Connacht to the north and the Burren in County Clare in the province of Munster to the south; Galway city is on the northeast side. The bay is about 50 kilometres (30 mi) long and from 10 kilometres (6 mi) to 30 kilometres (20 mi) in breadth. The Aran Islands (Oileáin Árann) are to the west across the entrance and there are numerous small islands within the bay. To the west of Galway, the rocks are granite but to the south they are limestone. The approaches to the bay between the Aran Islands and the mainland are as follows: the North Sound (An Súnda ó Thuaidh) lies between Inishmore and Leitir Mealláin in Connemara; known as Bealach Locha Lurgan in Irish. Gregory's Sound (Súnda Ghríoghóra) lies between Inishmore and Inishmaan; known as Bealach na h-Áite in Irish. Foul Sound (An Súnda Salach) lies between Inishmaan and Inisheer; known as Bealach na Fearbhaighe in Irish. South Sound (An Súnda ó Theas), known as Bealach na Finnise in Irish, lies between Inisheer and County Clare. Galway Bay is famous for its unique traditional sailing craft, the Galway hooker.

Murroogh (Irish: Muiriúch Tuaithe), sometimes named Murrooghtoohy or Murroghtwohy, is a hamlet in County Clare, Ireland. It covers the townlands of Murrooghtoohy North and Murrooghtoohy South. It is within the civil parish of Gleninagh, in the Barony of Burren. The area was officially classified as part of the West Clare Gaeltacht; an Irish-speaking community, until 1956.

Fanore (Irish: Fánóir, Fán Óir, meaning "the golden slope") is a small village in County Clare, on the west coast of Ireland. The area was officially classified as part of the West Clare Gaeltacht, an Irish-speaking community, until 1956.

Glenicmurrin Lough or Lough Glenicmurrin (Irish: Loch Ghleann Mhac Muirinn) is a lake in County Galway, Ireland.

Bearna/Na Forbacha GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the Barna and Furbo areas of County Galway, Ireland. The club is exclusively concerned with hurling.

Killonaghan or Killonahan (Irish: Cill Onchan) is a civil parish in County Clare, Ireland. It covers a part of the Burren, a rugged area on the Atlantic coast, and contains the seaside village of Fanore.

Furbo or Furbogh (officially known as Na Forbacha in both Irish and English) is a settlement in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland. As of the 2022 census, it had a population of 868 people. It lies along the coast, overlooking Galway Bay, in a Gaeltacht (Irish speaking) area.
