Collessie railway station

Collessie is a village and parish of Fife, Scotland. The village is set on a small hillock centred on a historic church. Due to rerouting of roads, it now lies north of the A91. Though a railway embankment was constructed through the middle of the village in the 19th century, it retains many of its traditional 17th–18th century houses. In recent years some of the older houses have been re-roofed in traditional thatch.

Birnie Loch is located in North East Fife, Scotland, adjacent to the crossroads between the A91 and B937 roads. It is entirely artificial in nature, being a flooded pit formerly used for the extraction of sand or gravel.The extraction company decided to present the exhausted flooded pit to the local authority as a potential public resource. A competition was held to name it, and the name Birnie Loch was proposed by a local schoolgirl. This piece of water was the first in a series of such in the immediate vicinity to be so presented to the community, and the (younger) neighbouring Gadden Lochs have become a wildfowl preserve, complete with an observation hut for birdwatchers. Birnie Loch is also a preserve, but public access to the banks is not fenced off as it is for most of the neighbouring waters for the benefit of breeding birds. It has now matured into a small loch of albeit semi-cultivated appearance, and has been colonised by many varieties of wildlife including birds, fish, invertebrates, and water-loving plants of many sorts. The loch was Supreme Winner in the 1994 Scottish Environmental Regeneration Awards, the 1997 UEPG European Restoration Awards, and the 1998 Quarry Products Association Restoration Award.

The Palace of Monimail, also known as Monimail Tower, was a Renaissance palace in Fife, Scotland. A residence of the Archbishops of St Andrews from the 13th century, in the early 17th century Monimail became a chief seat of the Melville family. Lord Monimail is one of the subsidiary titles of the Leslie-Melville Earls of Leven. It was abandoned in the late 17th century and subsequently most of the palace was demolished. One tower remains standing in the grounds of Melville House near the village of Monimail, 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north of Ladybank.

Melville House is a 1697 house that lies to the south side of the Palace of Monimail near Collessie in Fife, Scotland. It has been a school and a training base for Polish soldiers who had arrived in Scotland after the 51st Highland Division had been forced to surrender at Saint-Valery-en-Caux in 1940.The building was the most expensive building in Britain ever reclaimed by a bank.

Cairnie Hill lies at the eastern end of the Ochil Hills, above the village of Collessie Scotland. It is the highest point of a small upland area between Collesie Den and Collairnie Farm. The northern and western slopes of Cairnie Hill are quite steep and are used for rough grazing and forestry. To the south the land rises gradually from the flat Howe of Fife and is used predominantly for arable farming. Cairnie is a common place name in Fife, possibly originating from the Pictish Carden or thicket, with the addition of the Gaelic ending aigh. It is also Scots for 'hillock'. An easy route to the summit starts at NO 273153, on the B937 about 2 km south of Lindores. From here a track leads up onto the summit area, from where several paths lead to the summit.

Dunbog is a parish in the county of Fife in Scotland which is now (since 1983) united with the neighbouring parish of Abdie, Dunbog kirk closing at that time. The name of the parish possibly derives from the Scottish Gaelic, Dùn Bolg, meaning "bag fort" or "bag-like, rounded hill" although no fortification has been identified on Dunbog Hill. The parish is of entirely rural character, with small hamlets of houses at Dunbog and Glenduckie. These were formerly the settlements of farm workers, but the current inhabitants have many occupations. Dunbog parish is bounded on the north by the River Tay, on the south by Monimail, on the east by Flisk and Creich, and on the west by Abdie. The Barony of Denboig/Dunbog was established in 1687. The nearest town of any size is Newburgh. It has a small primary school with approximately fifty children, and a village hall owned by a community trust which also owns the park and playing field next door. In 1577 Jane de la Ramvell, Lady Creich, the mother of Mary Beaton one of the Four Maries who attended Mary Queen of Scots, died at the "Place of Dunbog". Anne of Denmark rode from Falkland Palace and stayed on 20 August 1599.The remains of Collairnie Castle which belonged to the Barclay family are also in Dunbog parish.

The Secret Garden is an outdoor nursery school in Letham, Fife, Scotland, for children aged 3–7 years. It is a forest kindergarten in which children walk to a woodland every day, in almost any weather. They use the natural resources they find there rather than modern toys (although with some additional equipment) to learn according to the government educational framework under the heading "Nature as Teacher". The Secret Garden was started in 2008 by Cathy Bache, a drama and primary teacher and parent of three. Before opening this, she provided childcare to a smaller number of children, and developed her ideas during this time. Forest kindergartens were started in the 1950s and became popular in Germany in the 1990s.

Letham is a small village in Fife, Scotland, located just off the A92, around 5 miles from Cupar. According to the 2001 Census, Letham has 138 residents, although this has without a doubt increased in the previous years. Its school, Letham Primary School, educates around 35 pupils, between the ages of 5 and 12. The school building itself is over 130 years old, and built mainly from sandstone which was quarried only 200 metres away from the school. Cunnoquhie House is a late 18th-century classical mansion located just north of Letham. It was built for George Paterson of Cunnoquhie, and is a category A listed building.

Lindores Loch is a freshwater loch, situated in North Fife in the Parish of Abdie, in the Central Belt of Scotland. The Loch has for many years been used as a fishery and is well known for its abundant fish life. A curling pond is situated on the Northern shoreline and is nominally used by the Abdie Curling Club and Abdie ladies Curling Club. A speculative study suggests that the loch was created by glacial deposits from the surrounding Ochil Hills at the end of the last ice-age. The water level and shoreline have changed over time due to roads, railway, sluice gate and farmland.

The Howe of Fife is the broad, low-lying valley of the River Eden, lying between the Ochil Hills and the Lomond Hills in Fife, Scotland. Howe, in Scots means a hollow or a plain bounded by hills. The alternative terms Laich of Fife and the Valley of Eden have fallen from use, as has Stratheden, save for the hospital near Cupar.Cupar-based Howe of Fife RFC take their name from the area.

Lindores railway station served the village of Lindores, Fife, Scotland from 1909 to 1951 on the Newburgh and North Fife Railway.

Ladybank () is a village and former burgh of Fife, Scotland. It is about 62 kilometres (39 mi) north of Edinburgh, 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) southwest of Cupar, close to the River Eden. Its 2006 population was estimated at 1,582.
