Feria de San Telmo

Plaza Dorrego (Spanish: Dorrego Square) is a square located in the heart of San Telmo, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the 19th century, San Telmo was the main residential barrio (neighbourhood) of the city and Plaza Dorrego was its focal point. In the past it was referred to as Hueco del Alto or Alto de la carretas as it was the place where wagons would stop before crossing the Tercero del Sur stream (today called Pasaje San Lorenzo) on their way downtown. The name had been Alto de San Pedro and later changed to Plaza del Comercio in 1822. In 1905, the name was changed once again to its current form. The buildings located in the square maintain its original design thanks to the help of the Comisión del Museo de la Ciudad. Currently, its surroundings are full of cafes, bars and pubs, which fill the square with tables from those shops. There are also several antique stores. Musicians and dancers particularly tango exhibitions are seen, like the Argentine tango. The Feria de San Telmo (San Telmo Fair), mainly of antiques, runs every Sunday. Plaza Dorrego is located at the intersection of Humberto Primero and Defensa streets. Along with La Boca, Recoleta, Florida Street, and others, the Plaza Dorrego is one of the main tourist attractions of Buenos Aires.

San Telmo ("Saint Pedro González Telmo") is the oldest barrio (neighborhood) of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is a well-preserved area of the Argentine metropolis and is characterized by its colonial buildings. Cafes, tango parlors and antique shops line the cobblestone streets, which are often filled with artists and dancers. A street named the "Illuminated Block" is where many of these important historical buildings can be found.San Telmo's attractions include old churches (e.g. San Pedro Telmo), museums, food halls and stalls, antique stores and a semi-permanent antique fair (Feria de Antigüedades) in the main public square, Plaza Dorrego. Tango-related activities for both locals and tourists are in the area.

The Casa de Esteban de Luca, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a historic house, once inhabited by the Argentine poet, soldier, Esteban de Luca, who wrote odes to General José de San Martín, as well to his victories in the battles of Chacabuco, Maipú, and other milestones in the Argentine War of Independence; his Marcha Patriótica was, briefly and until 1813, the unofficial Argentine National Anthem. De Luca was also the director of the National Munitions Works during the war, and lived in this residence until his death in 1824. The house was built in 1786 and declared a National Historic Monument in 1941. It is located at 383 Carlos Calvo Street, and currently houses a restaurant.

Universidad del Cine (FUC; English: "University of Cinema/Film") is a private not-for-profit university located in the neighbourhood of San Telmo in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was founded in 1991 by Manuel Antin, who currently serves as Rector. The school offers undergraduate, graduate and post graduate programmes focused in film and media arts.

The Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity (Spanish: Catedral Ortodoxa Rusa de la Santísima Trinidad) is an Eastern Orthodox church building in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Located in the neighborhood of San Telmo, in front of Lezama Park.

The Escuela Técnica Otto Krause is an educational institution located at the intersection of Paseo Colón Avenue and Chile Street, in the San Telmo section of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Named after its founder, the engineer Otto Krause, son of German immigrants, the school was founded in 1897 and is the oldest technological school in the country. The school currently has around 2000 students and operates a six-year programme. The first three years (ciclo básico) provide a technical high-school programme for students who have completed their elementary education. Years four to six (ciclo superior) provide the equivalent of a technical college education in various branches of engineering technology. On completion of their studies here students may go on to university to follow a six-year programme leading to a degree in engineering. The present school building, which was inaugurated on May 24, 1909, was declared a National Monument in 1995.

The Argentine National Historical Museum (Spanish: Museo Histórico Nacional) is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is a museum dedicated to the history of Argentina, exhibiting objects relating to the May Revolution and the Argentine War of Independence.

The Santo Domingo Convent, or Basilic of Our Lady of the Rosary and Convent of Santo Domingo is a convent for Our Lady of the Rosary located in the Monserrat neighborhood of Buenos Aires. Built during the colonial times, it was the scenario of a military conflict during the British invasions of the Río de la Plata. It holds as well the tomb of the Argentine national hero Manuel Belgrano.
