Manatee Mineral Springs Park

Angola was a prosperous community: 232  of up to 750 maroons (escaped slaves): 71  that existed in Florida from 1812: 72  until Florida became a U.S. territory in 1821, at which point it was destroyed. The location was along the Manatee River in Bradenton, Florida, near Manatee Mineral Springs Park. The exact location is expansive, ranging from where the Braden River meets the Manatee River down to Sarasota Bay; archaeological research focuses on the Manatee Mineral Spring—a source of fresh water and later the location of the Village of Manatee two decades after the destruction of the maroon community. Archaeological evidence has been found and the archaeology report by Uzi Baram is on file with the Florida Division of Historical Resources of the Florida Department of State.

Manatee Village Historical Park is an open-air museum located in Bradenton, Florida, at 1404 Manatee Avenue East. The museum is designated as a National Historic Site.

The Old Manatee County Courthouse, built in 1859–1860, is an historic building located at 1404 Manatee Avenue East, in Bradenton, Florida. It was Manatee County's first courthouse and is the oldest surviving Florida county courthouse (that was built originally as one) left in the state, and is now part of the Manatee Village Historical Park. On June 29, 1976, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. After it ceased being used as a courthouse, it became the Manatee Methodist Church and the Manatee Methodist Church Parsonage.

The Hernando Desoto Bridge is a bridge carrying U.S. Highway 41 (US 41) and US 301 over the Manatee River between Palmetto and Bradenton, Florida. The Desoto Bridge is 40 feet (12 m) tall and carries four lanes. It is one of two bridges connecting Bradenton and Palmetto. The other is the Green Bridge located approximately one-half of a mile (0.80 km) downstream.

Bradenton Riverwalk (known locally as the Riverwalk) is a 1.5-mile-long (2.4 km) public green space located along the Manatee River in Bradenton, Florida, between Business US 41 and South Tamiami Trail (US 301 / US 41 concurrently). The five-acre (2.0 ha) park opened to the public on October 18, 2012 and features a skatepark, 400-seat amphitheater, playgrounds, and a splash pad. The area is maintained by the city of Bradenton and the nonprofit organization Realize Bradenton.

The Braden Castle Park Historic District is a U.S. historic district (designated as such on May 9, 1983) located in Bradenton, Florida. The district is bounded by the Manatee and Braden Rivers, Ponce DeLeon Street and Pelot Avenue. It contains 192 historic buildings and 3 structures. The historic district contains ruins of the 1850 Braden House, a house of tabby owned by Joseph Braden.

Manatee School for the Arts is a public charter school in Palmetto, Florida for middle and high school students.

Palmetto Estuary Preserve (or Palmetto Estuary Park) is a 20-acre (8.1 ha) preserve in Palmetto, Florida. The preserve is located directly north of the Hernando de Soto Bridge and abuts the Manatee River.

Bradenton Area Convention Center, formerly Manatee Civic Center, is a 4,000-seat multi-purpose arena and convention center in Palmetto, Florida. It was home to the Florida Stingers of the Continental Basketball Association and Florida Scorpions of the American Professional Football League. It also hosted UWF's first and only live pay-per-view event, Beach Brawl, on June 9, 1991.

Manavista was an area surrounded by the Atwood Grape Fruit Company. The brief history of Manavista began when Kimball C. Atwood (1853-1934) purchased 265 acres of land that was situated a mile east of the city of Palmetto on the north side of the Manatee River in 1892. The grove consisted of about 96 rows of grapefruit trees. Atwood had an estate across the river in the town of Manatee. The winters of 1894 and 1895 were particularly severe and devastated the citrus industry in the state, driving the citrus belt further southward. It wasn't until 1897 that Atwood was able to procure new trees from the Reasoners, who owned and operated a plant nursery, had recently received them in stock. Grapefruit varieties included Duncan, Royal, and Walter. A post office was opened on May 12, 1898 with the name "Manavista" attached. The first postmaster under its supervision was Lewis C. Randall.Meanwhile, the grove had bounced back from the two consecutive freezes and by 1915 it was producing 80,000 boxes of grapefruit, 1,200 of which were handled daily. It experienced its peak year in 1927 when 160,000 boxes of grapefruit were processed. The Atwood grove's fame spread to outside the United States. The American ambassador to the United Kingdom regularly purchased crates and the grove's fruit was served to officials in the royal household. The grove also shipped a complimentary crate of fruit to King George V of the United Kingdom (1865-1936) annually until the King's death. In 1934, Kimball Atwood died, and the grove closed soon afterward. The property remained in the possession of the Atwood family until 1968, when it was sold to Simens-Allis, who built a new plant. Eventually, the plant closed and in 2012, Feld Entertainment purchased the property and set up their new headquarters there.

The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature (formerly the South Florida Museum), located in Bradenton, Florida, is a natural history museum specializing in the history of Florida's gulf coast. It houses exhibits highlighting Florida history from the prehistoric to the present. The Museum also features regularly changing exhibits in the East Gallery, as well as in other small galleries throughout the first and second floors of the Museum. The Bishop also includes The Planetarium and the Parker Manatee Rehabilitation Habitat, the former home of Snooty the manatee (1948-2017, Snooty was the oldest known manatee in the world at the time of his death). The Parker Manatee Rehabilitation Habitat is a founding member of the Manatee Rescue and Rehabilitation Partnership and has rehabilitated more than 40 manatees since 1998. The Planetarium, which was opened in the mid-1960s, has since been entirely remodeled and received a significant technical upgrading in 2020.
