Washington, D.C.'s Chinatown is a small, historic area of Downtown Washington, D.C. along H and I Streets between 5th and 8th Streets, Northwest. The area was once home to thousands of Chinese immigrants, but fewer than 300 remained in 2017. The current neighborhood was the second in Washington to be called “Chinatown” since 1931. Originally, the first Chinatown was built in the Federal Triangle on the south side of Pennsylvania Avenue some time after 1851, but was moved to the H Street area when a new federal building was built there. In 1986, a Chinese gate was built over H Street at 7th Street. By 1997, prominent landmarks such as the Capital One Arena, a sports and entertainment arena, had gentrified the area. The neighborhood is served by the Gallery Place station of the Washington Metro.

Justice Research and Statistics Association (JRSA) is a national nonprofit organization of state Statistical Analysis Centers, researchers, and practitioners throughout government, academia, and justice organizations. Justice Research and Statistics Association's members form a network of justice professionals dedicated to policy-relevant research and practice. The association was created in 1974 to promote cooperation and the exchange of criminal justice information among the states. JRSA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.Statistical Analysis Centers contribute to viable, effective policy development in their states through statistical services, research, evaluation, and policy analysis.Through the United States Bureau of Justice Statistics' State Justice Statistics Program, Statistical Analysis Centers also undertake statistical research and analysis on themes selected by Bureau of Justice Statistics and JRSA that reflect issues of current concern and significance to the justice community.JRSA collects information annually in a computerized index called the Infobase of State Activities and Research on Statistical Analysis Centers' research, analyses, and activities, as well as reports and publications.JRSA provides access to state-based information such as the Infobase of State Activities and Research, a searchable clearinghouse of Statistical Analysis Center research, and programs, and the Statistical Analysis Center Digest, an electronic compilation of Statistical Analysis Centers' publication abstracts. JRSA publishes The Forum, a quarterly newsletter, and Justice Research and Policy, a semiannual peer-reviewed journal.JRSA conducts multi-state research on statewide and system-wide problems and practices.Justice professionals share information and hear about new research, programs, and technologies at conferences convened by JRSA.JRSA provides training and technical assistance to justice-related organizations on a wide range of topics, such as automated systems planning and management; crime analysis, including spatial analysis of crime data and analysis of incident-based data; valuation and research methods; and computer technologies for records management, data analysis, and forecasting. Justice Research and Statistics Association has also advised agencies that award and manage grants, such as the Office of Justice Programs.

Gallery Place is a small urban power center in Downtown Washington, D.C. in D.C.'s Chinatown and also in the F Street shopping district, the traditional downtown shopping and entertainment area. It is adjacent to Capital One Arena and the Gallery Place/Chinatown station of the Washington Metro rail is underneath the center. It measures 660,000 sq ft (61,000 m2) of which 250,000 sq ft (23,000 m2) is retail space; there is 2,200,000 sq ft (200,000 m2) of office space and 192 condominiums. It opened in 2004. The only remaining anchor left is Regal Cinemas. Former big-box store anchors include Bed, Bath & Beyond and Urban Outfitters. On December 6, 2019, it was announced that Bed Bath & Beyond would shutter.On December 28, 2020, Urban Outfitters closed permanently, leaving Regal Cinemas as the only anchor left.On January 19, 2023, it was announced that Regal Cinemas would close as part of a plan to close 39 theaters nationwide, which will leave the mall with no anchors left. However, as of September 2023, the theater is still open, offering regular screens as well as 70mm and 4DX showings.

Gallery Place is a Washington Metro station in Washington, D.C., United States, on the Green, Red and Yellow Lines. It is one of the 4 major transfer points, a transfer station between the Red Line on the upper level and the Green/Yellow Lines on the lower level. Gallery Place is located in Northwest Washington, with entrances at 7th and F, 7th and H, and 9th and G Streets. The station's only street elevator is north of F Street on the east side of 7th Street. The station, which is beneath Capital One Arena, serves that arena and the surrounding Chinatown and Penn Quarter neighborhoods in downtown Washington. The station is located very close to Metro Center, such that the lights of one are visible down the tunnel from the other.

Calvary Baptist Church is a Baptist church located in the Chinatown neighborhood in Washington, D.C. affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, the Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America, the Alliance of Baptists, the District of Columbia Baptist Convention, and the Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists.In July 2012, the church severed ties with the Southern Baptist Convention. Since 2017, Calvary's Senior Co-Pastors have been Rev. Sally Sarratt and Rev. Maria Swearingen.

The Mary E. Surratt Boarding House in Washington, D.C. was the site of meetings of conspirators to kidnap and subsequently to assassinate U.S. President Abraham Lincoln. It was operated as a boarding house by Mary Surratt from September 1864 to April 1865.

The Sixth & I Historic Synagogue is a non-denominational, non-membership, non-traditional Jewish synagogue located at the corner of Sixth Street and I Street, NW in the Chinatown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. It is one of the oldest synagogues in the city. In addition to hosting religious services for different Jewish denominations, the synagogue hosts many lectures, concerts, and art exhibitions for the general public.

Capital One Arena is an indoor arena in Washington, D.C. Located in the Chinatown section of the larger Penn Quarter neighborhood, the arena sits atop the Gallery Place rapid transit station of the Washington Metro. Owned and operated by Monumental Sports & Entertainment, it is the home arena of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL), the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA), and the Georgetown University men's basketball team. It was also home to the Washington Mystics of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) from 1998 to 2018, after which they moved to the Entertainment and Sports Arena in southeast Washington for the 2019 season. Though the arena project was a commercial success for its backers, it has contributed to the gentrification of the surrounding area, the displacement of most of its Asian-American residents (the local Chinese-American population, which numbered over 3,000 before the arena's construction, was a mere 300 in 2023), and the replacement of the most of the small businesses and restaurants that served the Asian-American community by large national corporations. The arena does, however, feature a sign in Chinese characters.

The United States Mint is a bureau of the Department of the Treasury responsible for producing coinage for the United States to conduct its trade and commerce, as well as controlling the movement of bullion. The U.S. Mint is one of two U.S. agencies that produce money in the case of minting coinage; the other is the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, which prints paper currency. The first United States Mint was created in Philadelphia in 1792, and soon joined by other centers, whose coins were identified by their own mint marks. There are currently four active coin-producing mints: Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco, and West Point.

Parts of F Street and 7th Street, N.W. and nearby blocks have historically been the heart of the Washington, D.C. Downtown shopping district. In the first half of the 20th century there were numerous upscale large department stores along and near F Street, while 7th Street housed more economical emporia and large retail furniture stores. The F street corridor stretches west from Downtown's Penn Quarter and Gallery Place towards 15th Street, while the 7th Street corridor includes the neighborhoods of Penn Quarter, Chinatown and Mount Vernon Square, and extends up to the border of Shaw.

The Daguerre Memorial is a bronze and granite sculpture by Jonathan Scott Hartley in Washington, D.C. It was erected in memory of Louis Daguerre.
