Dhaka-3 is a constituency represented in the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) of Bangladesh since 2008 by Nasrul Hamid of the Awami League.

Eastern Bengal and Assam was an administrative subdivision (province) of the British India between 1905 and 1912. Headquartered in the city of Dacca, it covered territories in what are now Bangladesh, Northeast India and Northern West Bengal.

Coupled with pollution, such erosion of natural habitats threatens to destroy much of the regional biodiversity.Cold weather is unusual in and around Dhaka. When temperatures decrease to 8 °C (46 °F) or less, people without warm clothing and living in inadequate homes may die from the cold.

Kamrangirchar (Bengali: কামরাঙ্গীরচর) is a Thana of Dhaka District in the Division of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Birshreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College (BNMPC) (formerly Rifles Public School and College) is a Bangladeshi school and college located at the headquarters of Border Guard Bangladesh in Pilkhana. Although, originally established to ensure the education of the children of Border Guards Bangladesh (former Bangladesh Rifles) members but civilians can also study here. Major General Shakil Ahmed is the chief patron of the college, Brigadier General Benazir Ahmed is the chairperson of the governing body, and Lieutenant Colonel Md. Abu Sayed is the principal.

Islamic Arabic University (Bengali: ইসলামি আরবি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) is a public university in Mohammadpur Thana of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It operates through a number of fazil (bachelor) and kamil (master) level madrasahs all over Bangladesh instead of a localized campus. The Islamic Arabic University was authorized by passage in Parliament on 18 September 2013 of the Islamic Arabic University Bill. It supervises all 1,500 fazil (bachelor) and kamil (master) level madrasas in Bangladesh. Initially it was located at the Bangladesh Madrasa Teachers' Training Institute in Gazipur.

Hazaribagh (Bengali: হাজারীবাগ) is a Thana of Dhaka District in the Division of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Hazaribagh is part of Old Town, Dhaka, Bangladesh. 95% of Bangladesh's tanneries, which is where animal skins are processed to make leather, were located in or around Hazaribagh before they moved to Hemayatpur, Savar. In Hazaribagh, traditional establishments, culture, language and food can be found in daily life practices. Owing to its location near Buriganga River, Hazaribagh shares significant history as well. It is one of the most densely populated places on earth, though it is criticised for its low living standards.

Pilkhana is a para-military cantonment in Dhaka. It is the headquarters of Border Guard Bangladesh, located to the south of Dhanmondi in Dhaka of Bangladesh.

The historical shrine of Dayera Sharif Khanqah, commonly known as Bara Dayera Sharif, is situated in the Azimpur locality of Dhaka city. The Persian word Dayera means "circle" or "work area". As a rule, the heirs of the Dayera Sharif never go outside the area, except for pilgrimage. The Azimpur Dayera Sharif was established by Shah Sufi Sayed Muhammad Dayem who came at Dhaka in 1766-68 AD. It is currently under the supervision of his saventh generation(tenth Gaddi-Nashin). Shah Sufi Syed Ahmadullah Jobayer has been the overall supervisor of Dayera Sharif since 1998. The successor of the Sufi dynasty is known as Gaddi Nashin, who sits on the Gaddi to serve people. The historical Azimpur Dayera Sharif represents the 700 years old Sufi dynasty in Bengal. The representatives of the dynasty are one of the very few Persian-speaking people in Bangladesh. The place is also symbolic to the propagation of Islam not only in the province of Bengal but also across the greater Indian Subcontinent. Endowment mark, stamp, and sign of Emperor Shah Jahan and the Quran gifted by Emperor Shah Jahan resembles a deep connection to the Sufi dynasty with the Delhi Sultanate.
